I. THE WORLD OF BLACK CROWN
There are two different parts: the computer game and the board game. The
board game isn't essential when playing the computer game, but without it
it's difficult to play.
In the game there are four worlds, every world with a town, the start
point of every player. Every town is ruled by a "Apocalipse Rider"
("Jinete del Apocalipsis").
- "Ciudad del Hambre" (Town of Hungries). From here, three barbarians
start their quest.
- "Ciudad de la Peste" (Town of Plagues). From here, three wizards will
start their qwuest.
- "Ciudad de la Guerra" (Town of War). From here, three noble knights
start their quest.
- "Ciudad de la Libra". From here, three amazones (a kind of woman)
start their quest.
Every player must direct one of that groups to the castle in which the
Black Crown is.
II. THE GAME
1. The Board Game.
The Board has four parts, with a different world every part.
Every player must move three pieces (enclosed in the original package).
If you don't have the board or pieces, please use your imagination and
make them. It's a beautiful task.
2. In your Computer Screen.
Every character has four energy bars:
- PESTE BAR (PB): the character's health.
- HAMBRE BAR (HB): how much hungry the characer is.
- GUERRA BAR (GB): the power of the character.
- LIBRA BAR (LB): the cash that is being carried by the character.
Every PLAYER must guide ALL the characters from a town, and every
CHARACTER has its own four bars.
To increase the bars:
- Some FOOD increases the HB.
- Some RESTING increases the GB.
- You'll need COINS to increase the LB.
- POTIONS to increase the PB.
The Objects are in several places of the map.
Every turn the screen will display the warrior that must be moved and
its bars.
3. The Bars.
- Guerra Bar. Every turn, a point is substracted to the GB of the
character that is walking. A point is added to the GB of the rest of
the characters.
To increase the GB:
. Don't move a character.
. Rent a room in a Inn.
. Use medicaments on wounds, an "Unguento curativo".
- Peste Bar. It descends when a character eats rotten food (but the
rotten food INCREASES the HB). When you have rotten or not rotten
food is unknown, only the Inn's food is ALWAYS healthy.
If you find a leprosy man, this bar will descend.
To increase the PB:
. Purchase a potion from Alchemist's house, an "Antidoto contra la
peste".
- Libra Bar. There is a limit of coins the character can carry. This
bar descends when you waste money, and ascends when you pick up money.
- Hambre Bar. Every turn these bar descend one point. You can find some
food in the game, but IN THE LAST PART OF THE GAME THERE IS NO FOOD.
To increase the HB:
. Buy food in the Inn ("Posada").
. Pick up some food you find.
. If you win to an enemy, you can thief its food.
. EAT THE FOOD. Sometimes the food is rotten, but it will increase the
HB. The food you buy from the Inn is always healthy.
4. Playing.
This game is like "PARCHIS". Every turn the player moves one character
a number of squares, clicking on the dice onscreen.
When you know the numbers of squares you can move, click on the character
you want to move. BEFORE CLICKING ON THE DICE you can buy, pay, rest,
eat etc.
5. Fighting.
When to characters meet on the same square:
- The character that was earlier in the sqare runs away, returning to the
start point of the game.
OR
- A FIGHT starts.
Only the player who strikes can select objects while playing.
FIGHTS = ARCADE SEQUENCES.
The winner can get the looser's items.
6. END of the game.
The winner is the player who first places its characters in The Castle.
7. OBJECTS.
To select them, just click on the item that you want to use.
- ANTIDOTO CONTRA LA PESTE makes descend the PB.
- UNGUENTO CURATIVO makes descend the GB.
- POCION DE INVISIBILIDAD (Invisivility spell).
- FLAUTA MAGICA (Magic Flute).
- CONJURO DE INMUNIDAD (Inmunity spell).
- CONJURO DE VELOCIDAD (Speed spell).
- CONJURO DE FUERZA (Power spell).
- CONJURO DE FUEGO (Fire spell).
- CONJURO DE MALDICION (Malediction spell).
- MONEDAS DE ORO (Gold Coins).
- ESPADA MAGICA (Magic Sword).
- JABALI (Boar).
- MENDRUGO DE PAN (Bread).
- QUESO ENTERO DE OVEJA (Cheese).
- POLLO ASADO (Chicken).
- PIERNA DE JABALI (more boar).
- HABITACION PARA DORMIR (rent room).
8. Every Turn.
a) INFORMATION about a character: click on the character.
b) ACTION: click on a character to perform an action.
c) ROAMING: click on the dice and move a character.
III. REFERENCE CARD
1. To run the game type CROWN and press RETURN.
2. To install the game in the hard D type INSTALAR and hit RETURN.
3. To SAVE/LOAD the game push F1.
4. SNAP SCROLL: push ESC
5. Controls:
- MOUSE.
- JOYSTICK.
- KEYBOARD:
. Moving the cursor: use the arrow keys and RETURN to select.
. Fight Keys:
PLAYER A Q - up
A - down
O - left
P - right
SPACE - hit
PLAYER B ARROW KEYS - up, down, left, right.
INS - hit
