To make the games slightly challanging, you can take over the enemies building,
by
walking into them when the damage guage is low. This then will enable you to use
the
enemies vehicle, this also mean their special one.
If you're smart you will have figured this out already, but at the dos prompt
there is a
file called scenario.pak if you edit it with something like Windows 3.1 Write
with no
conversion you will see that it is all in text and that you can change a soldier
to a
devastator by just typing over it. Be carefull though make a backup I will not
be
responsible for Data loss
If you have Xtgold, select the "Scenario.pak" file and press "e" (edit). Then
just alter
the names of all the units you have. i.e. if your playing Atreides, change all
"quad"s to
"Sonic Tanks"
When you are in dos and you type in cd\dune2 and then you are supposed to type
dune
don't because all you have to do is type in UNDN2TRN and you can have as much
spice as you want but only for the Harks.

When using the ordos deviator, once you have deviated an enemy unit, make them
attack their own base and then click on the attack tab again but DO NOT choose a
target - wait until the gas wears off before choosing a target. The unit should
now
continue shooting up it's own base for you!!
Can't win on SD2? Attack enemy harvesters with footsoldiers and they will chase
and
run down your men. They they stop harvesting (no more credits for enemy = easy
victory)
Use your men to attack the enemy`s harvester, then retreat to a rock. The
harvester
will run over your men and won`t be able to harvest any spice melange
Instead of entering the game by typing dune2 type d2 instead and it will give
you the
option of increasing builder speed by pressing space bar once. To exit it press
esc and
then the game will load with faster production.
In the dos prompt in dune2 directory type in dune2crk then enter. Then type
undn2trn
and then enter again. Once in the game press the "+" key to get 500 credits. It
will
only work if you have the cracked version. It should work for all the houses but
after a
while it stops working for the Atriedes and the Ordos.
Use XTGold and edit any scenario file. Change all the "Trike"s "Quad"s etc to
"Sonic
Tank" (or whatever). DON'T CHANGE THE NUMBERS: these are the coodinates
for the various units, and can seriously STUFF UP your game if altered. Remember
to
make a backup of the file you edit, so you can restore the original file if you
stuff up
the editing.

sand and harvest to 100% and lock the spice is still there ..god hope this
works.
A good strategy WITHOUT CHEATING: When playing a stage with a lot of
building space sometimes your building gravel will be connected to the enemy's
and
you can build blocks all the way to the enemy's base and build a rocket turret
right in
their face, and before they even know that your turret is placed you can place
another
and then destroy them at their source and find their base without worrying about
getting killed.
