Things You May Need to
Complete the Game
Some of these items will be necessary to complete the game each time you play.
But due to the random nature of our games you won't need all of them at one time
even though you may see them! The key is to be observant and listen to the
characters, especially Putt-Putt. He'll tell you just what he does and doesn't
need!
Odd Animals of the Alphabet - You'll find this book in the Cartown Library. It
has a lot of interesting information about some pretty exotic animals! Like what
kind of food they like to eat.
Jr. Fire Marshal Badge - Putt-Putt can earn this by helping out in an emergency.
If the barn is on fire Putt-Putt needs to call 911!
Batteries - Ms. Widget has some of these in her store. They just may come in
handy! They're just right for a flashlight.
Bottles - You can collect the bottles you find around Cartown and take them to
Mr. Crankcase's Junk and Recycling Center. There are six bottles to find but
they're randomly scattered around Cartown. Keep your eyes open!
Coins - These can be earned by helping Mr. Baldini or by recycling bottles. Pick
some produce for Mr. Baldini out at Torvil's farm and he'll give Putt-Putt two
coins! You can recycle the bottles you find around Cartown at Mr. Crankcase's
Junk and Recycling Center and get some coins, too!
Flashlight - Torvil Tractor has a flashlight but Putt-Putt will have to find a
way to make it work. Ms. Widget has some batteries in her toy store.
Fruits and Vegetables - Putt-Putt can find these on Torvil's farm.
Gas - The Cartown gas station is the place to go for Hi-Powered Hi-Octane
Gasoline. Putt-Putt can fill up and zoom around Cartown but it won't last. He
needs to find something to put the gas in so he can take it to the racetrack.
Gas Can - Putt-Putt might be able to find one of these in the junkyard or in
Mrs.
Airbag's backyard.
Grapes - The grapes grow in abundance out at Torvil's farm.
Grocery Crate - Mr. Baldini may need Putt-Putt's help with his produce.
Honey - One of Outback Al's exotic animals may need some honey.
Hook - Putt-Putt will stumble across this on his travels. It might be a good
thing to have on hand.
Ladder - Smokey would be happy to lend this to Putt-Putt as long as he has his
Jr. Fire Marshal badge.
Milk - Does a car body good and could be useful for other things too.
Milkshake - Rover makes a mean shake. These would be great for break time
snacks.
Numbers - Putt-Putt will need a number for his racing flag before he can enter
the Cartown 500.
Pumpkin Seeds - Outback Al's exotic animals may eat these.
Shovel - Putt-Putt may need this to help find something that's been buried.
Tire Patch Kit - Chuck Tow Truck has a flat and needs a helping handЕ and a
patch.
Items You Need to Enter the Race
Hi Powered Hi-Octane Gasoline - Putt-Putt needs this to power his car for the
race.
Triangular Racing Flag - Putt-Putt needs a triangular racing flag with his
official number on it.
Safety Helmet - Putt-Putt needs a safety helmet for his passenger Pep before he
can enter the Cartown 500!
Super Speedy Radial Racing Tires - Putt-Putt needs some special tires for the
race!
Finding the Gas Can
Putt-Putt needs Hi-Powered Hi-Octane gasoline to use for the Cartown 500. He can
find it at the Cartown gas station but he needs something to put it in. The gas
can will be found in one of two places: Mr. Crankcase has a big pile of stuff at
the junkyard. If Putt-Putt helps him stack it all on the shelves he can keep the
gas can. If Mr. Crankcase doesn't have the gas can, it will be a little more
complicated to find!
Betsy Bulldozer needs a break from her work on the construction site. (Betsy
would love to have a nice cold milkshake!). If Putt-Putt can help her with that
he can borrow Betsy's shovel to help Mrs. Airbag. And believe it or not, he'll
end up with a gas can! Seems Mrs. Airbag's dog has buried Mr. Airbag's hubcaps.
If Putt-Putt can dig up the four hubcaps in Mrs. Airbag's backyard she'll let
him
keep the gas can he finds buried with the last hubcap.
Finding the Safety Helmet
Putt-Putt needs a safety helmet for Pep before he can drive in the big Cartown
500! The helmet can be found in one of two places:
If Mr. Fenderbender's cat, Bonzo, is stuck in the tree Putt-Putt can borrow a
ladder from Smokey to rescue it after he's earned his Jr. Fire Marshal badge
(When you encounter the burning shed, you'll need to dial 911 and report the
fire. Smokey will put the fire out and present Putt-Putt with the badge).
Luckily Bonzo has a safety helmet on! When the cat is safe Putt-Putt can collect
the safety helmet!
If Mr. Fenderbender's cat, Bonzo, is not stuck in the tree the helmet will be
found at the construction site. After playing the Hammer Time game, Putt-Putt
will get the helmet.
Finding the Super Speedy Radial Racing Tires
Chuck Tow Truck has the racing tires Putt-Putt needs at his Tire Center but
he's
stuck on the road with a flat! Putt-Putt needs to help Chuck with that problem
before he can get his tires. Once you've done that Chuck can return to the Tire
Center where he'll sell Putt-Putt four Super Speedy Radial Racing tires. What a
deal! Putt-Putt will only need four coins for the tires, instead of eight. Chuck
gives Putt-Putt a discount for helping him. Chuck will tell Putt-Putt where to
find the patch kit and what shape patch he needs. You need to help Putt-Putt
find
the tire center, pick up the patch kit and then cut the right shape patch.
There are a couple different ways Putt-Putt can earn coins. He can help Mr.
Baldini by going to the farm for some produce or he can collect the bottles he
finds around Cartown and take them to Mr. Crankcase's Junk and Recycling Center.
Finding the Triangular Flag
Putt-Putt needs a racing flag so he can race in the Cartown 500!
The flag could be in a couple different places: If the flag is at Outback Al's
you must identify the animal Al has with him and then go find out what that kind
of animal likes to eat. Once you've done that, you need to locate that food and
take it back to Outback Al so he can feed the baby animal. Then Putt-Putt can
collect the flag.
If the flag is not at Outback Al's then it will be at Mr. Fenderbender's. The
trick is you won't know that until you try to help him with his cat. The cat
will
be hiding under the house and you'll need to find something to lure him out.
When
you've done that Mr. Fenderbender will try to block the hole with the flag! If
you can find something else to block the hole you can keep the flag!
Once you've got the flag you must find some numbers so you can put Putt-Putt's
official racing number on it.:
The craft table in the library has some numbers that will work!
There are free bricks at the construction site that match those on Mr.
Fenderbender's house.
Rover has milk at Rover's Rocket Ice Cream. Cats like milkЕ
There's a reference book in the library that has this kind of information.
You'll find what you need at Mr. Baldini's, Rover's Rocket Ice Cream or at
Torvil
Tractor's farm.
