This is the walkthrough for the game Return to Krondor written by myself Woo
Sze Kwang after I have completed the game. This walkthrough covers only the
necessary things to do in the game to complete each chapter and some advice on
using each character in the game.
General: Enter houses in the early chapters and fight to gain some experience
and get everything that can be found, from bodies and chests. Healing can be
done at the temple of Prandur in the North gate sector early in the game.
Stock up on potions of healing and spellcasting and fire oil. They will be
useful in the later chapters where combat becomes tougher. Get magical weapons
and armour for every character. For all characters, improve on their
initiative and defense. James should work on bladed, William on two-handed,
Jazharah and Kendaric on paths of the Storm and Solon on two-handed and path
of life and divine. Good spells to use for combat are Sunray, Contest of wills
and Chaos storm. The first two are cheap to use and confers an advantage in
combat, the last one damages all hostile units.
Chapter 0: Go to the North gate sector and talk to the guard by the gate. Go
back to the palace sector. Go to the gate and click on the gate. To continue
the chapter, choose not to retire for the night and go to the poor sector.
talk to the Keshian and demand entrance. Talk to Yusof and play along with
him. Re-enter the building and defeat everyone inside. Search his office and
the bodies. Get the documents and key. Go upstairs. After the fight, use the
key on the lock in the cage. Return to the palace to end the chapter.
Chapter 1: After the fight, talk to Thalia. Leave the Inn and attempt to clear
the jailhouse. Talk to the scribe upstairs and press him until he attacks.
Defeat him. Talk to the prisoner downstairs and examine the body. Talk to the
Captain. Go to the North gate sector. Save everyone in the orphanage. Go to
the Ye Bitten Dog sector. Enter the tavern and talk to the patrons and the
innkeeper. Pay to get the key to the room upstairs. Enter the room upstairs
and win the fight.
Chapter 2: Explore the sewers. Greet the Mockers. Ask them everything. Make a
deal with them. Try not to fight them. Fight the sewer monsters in the sewer
and inside a room. Destroy their eggs. Find your way to Lucas and win the
fight.
Chapter 3: Go to the Wreckers guild at the Sea gate sector. Talk to the
townsmen outside. Enter the guild and talk to Jorath. Go upstairs and search
every room and talk to the person upstairs. Leave the guild and rest until
dark. Enter the alley in the Sea gate sector and defeat the nighthawks and ask
the person everything. Go to Jorath's room and search his drawer and take the
document. Go to the tavern in the Ye Bitten Dog sector and talk to the
innkeeper. Tell him the truth and enter the door behind him. Fight the
nighthawks and the mage and demon. Search the chest behind the mage to get
evidence that Kendaric was framed and the ship raising ritual. Leave the
tavern and rest until morning. Go to the guild and confront Jorath. Search the
desk. Go to the alchemist shop in the wealthy sector. Talk to the woman there.
Chapter 4: After the fight, talk to the mercenary. Make a deal with him.
Chapter 5: Make your way to Widows point. Stop by the inn and talk to the
patrons. If a fight breaks out in the inn with some goblins, quickly leave the
inn after the fight.
Chapter 6: Only one fight to accomplish in this chapter. Do not attack Bear.
All weapons and items are useless against him in this encounter. Defeat all
the other enemies and attack Bear for a few rounds.
Chapter 7: Talk to the innkeeper. Get a room for the night. Go to the shop
sector. Talk to the shopkeeper. Talk to the blacksmith at his home. Go to the
Witch's house and talk to the boy there. Return to the inn. Rest through the
night. Leave the inn when a scream is heard outside and fight the vampire.
Examine the body. Examine the cows and the fodder. Go to the witch's house.
Search the house and talk to the witch after she appears. Go to the shop
sector and defeat the vampires outside Lyle's house. Talk to Lyle. Go to the
witch's house or widow's point to rest until morning. Return to the inn and
talk to the innkeeper. Ask for a letter of recommendation. Talk to Farmer
Alton and the woman at the Crossroads. Talk to father Roweland at the Pulpit.
Go to the Woodcutter's shack and fight the vampire there. Enter the shack and
get the journal and nightstone. Go to the cemetery. Use the nightstone. Enter
the crypt. After the vampires are defeated, return to the inn and talk to the
innkeeper. Go to the blacksmith and talk to him. Go to the shop and examine
the bottom shelf on the right side of the screen. Go to the crossroads and
examine the fodder again. Confront Farmer Alton. Go to the Pulpit and confront
Father Roweland. After the fight, go to the inn. Talk to the innkeeper. Go to
the witch's house and talk to the witch.
Chapter 8: Fight the demons. After the fight, talk to the old man. Agree to
help him.
Chapter 9: Go to the corner near the end of Widow's point. There is a path
leading to a pile of rocks. Click on the symbol on one of the rocks. Enter the
temple. Use the prisms to shine the light into their respective colour slots
at the edges. Go through the door and fight past the tentacles. Enter the door
on the right. After the fight, enter the door along the corridor. Kill all
goblins and the mage and take the necromancer's key on the mage. Unlock the
prison door. Leave the room, open the door facing the door from which you
first entered the corridor. After the fight, use the map function and go to
the hall of statues. Get the wand. Use the map to go to the bottom left part
of the map. Fight your way through. Attack the undead creature. The undead
creature can only be harmed after it is floating in the air so concentrate on
the ghouls and skeletons first. Destroy the Black Pearl after the fight.
Chapter 10: Go to the ship. Enter the cabin of the ship. The encounter will
end after a few turns. Leave the ship. Defeat all the mercenaries by the
beach. Defeat Bear.
