Blade of Darkness Sargon Walkthrough

[This is the same Walkthrough used for the Demo. It happens to be identical to
the Walkthrough for Sargon in the Full Version. So, instead of re-typing it all
again, I have just linked to this one.]

For the demo, you will be limited to playing the Knight only. However, you do
get
a chance to take a peek at the other characters. Before selecting to play the
Knight, press the left or right arrow keys. The camera will swiftly navigate to
one of the 3 other characters. While looking at a character, if you wait a
moment, that character will go through some sort of animation. The Amazon will
pick up and shoot her bow. The Barbarian will pick up his sword and chop with
it.
And the Dwarf will wake from his slumber long enough to take another swig of
Ale.
After checking the characters out, return to the Knight, and press the Enter
key. “Please take your seats, as the story will now begin”.

The Story

The Krak of Tabriz is lost. Ragnar, lord of the fortress appears to have lost
all
reason and turned traitor.

You, Sargon, Knight of the King, were sent to give account of the strange events
occurring in the frontiers of the Realm.

But the worst fears of the Order have come to pass and war looks imminent. The
treachery has preceded you and now you lie in a gloomy dungeon.

Your mission a failure and your men slain. The only hope of recovering your lost
honor and saving the Realm from its enemies lies in escaping this prison cell,
and finding and defeating Ragnar.

Getting Started

Simple enough… You are a Knight who was captured by the traitors, during a
failed
mission. Your only hope lies in your ability to escape your prison. Begin by
getting a feel for the game, the movement and controls. You do not have a time
limit or anything, so take all the time that you need. If the game is too dark,
you may want to turn up the Gamma, or brightness a little. To do this while in
game, hit the ESC key. From the menu that pops up, select Options, and then
Video. Slide the settings over to increase or decrease them. Return to the game.
[Note: When the demo begins, it is quite dark. You may find it difficult to see
clearly. This will not always be the case. The lighting engine in Blade of
Darkness is incredible. If you can, try to resist adjusting the Gamma. The game
looks great when left on the default settings.]

At this point, I want to mention how each area listed below has a bold heading.
Forgive me for the corny headings, I just typed in whatever came to mind. The
headings are there to make reading easier (when you return, you do not have to
read it all again). Anyway, I don't want to get any emails about the corny
headings... =)

Escaping the cell

Now, that we have the basics, “How in the hell do we get out of this prison
cell?” With your back to the door to your cell, look towards the right hand
corner. Press the select item key, and a short description should pop-up, which
says only “Loose Brick”. Go over to this “Loose Brick”, and hit the Use key. The
wall will crumble; creating an escape route. Drop into the hole that you created
(It is a far drop, but you can handle it). When you land, you may notice a door.
Forget about this door. Turn towards your left, and you will see a corridor.
This
corridor is well lit, by light of a torch. Follow in this direction. You will
come to a dead end, but you will be able to jump up, against the wall, to grab
the edge and pull yourself up. After pulling yourself up, turn left a little,
and
climb up the next ledge.

You snooze, you loose

Now, follow the corridor. You will come to another well lit room. In the center
of this room, you will find a table with a key on it. Along the rear wall, you
will find 2 cells (one is your old one). And, Along the left hand wall, you will
find a sleeping Guard. Go over to the table and grab the key. You may also want
to grab the Meat and the Crust (eat them) to recover some of your lost hit
points. Break open the barrels in the corner, to locate a piece of cheese that
will increase your hit points further. If you would like, go ahead and smash the
table into pieces, and punch the Guards lights out. Notice that your EXP bar
increased after knocking out that Guard…

With the Prison Key, open up the cell that is next to your old cell. To do this,
you will want to look for the Dungeon Lock. Do not try to use the key on the
Prison Cell, but instead, use the actual lock (realistic eah?). Inside, you
should be able to find a femur (leg bone). This will be our weapon for a while
(optional; You could go for unarmed combat).

Next to the cell, where you got your leg bone weapon, you will find a big door.
The Prison Key works on this door, just as it did on the Prison Cell. Look for
the lock along the wall. Once the door is open, enter into the next room. Again,
there will be 2 Prison Cells. The first Prison Cell holds 2 Prisoners. One dead,
the other near death. If you wish, go ahead and put him out of his misery
(optional). You will not gain any items, or exp from doing this… In the second
room (behind the large door), you will find a couple Wooden Crates and Wooden
Barrels. Breaking open the Barrels will expose a piece of Cheese, and a Crust.
Both can be used to recover hit points. The wooden crates are empty.

Critters

Drop down where the sewer is creating a small waterfall. If you jump from here,
you’ll land on a small ledge (nothing is on ledge). Then drop down from that
ledge into the sewer below. Follow the obvious path, where you will find another
ledge to climb up. Just past the ledge, you’ll see a torch illuminating the
corridor. Beyond the torch, you will see a dead Knight, with 2 little critters
munching on him. In the distance, there is a third critter, which will be
alerted
to your presence when the first 2 notice you.

Take out these 3 critters (if you have the leg bone, press the down arrow +
attack, to attack low). You will gain exp in doing so. Once the 3 critters are
dead, check around the corpse that they were eating. You should find a Store
Key,
a Gladius Sword, and a Torch. Unlike other Torches that you have seen, this
Torch
is not attached to the wall. Therefore, you can pick it up. Continue forward
now, towards the gate. You can not open the gate, but to the left of the gate,
you should find a ledge that you can climb up.

Our first real fight

After climbing up the ledge, continue forward, very carefully. At the end of the
hallway, you will find a set of stairs leading towards a locked door, and on the
wall, you will find an unlit-torch. Light the unlit-torch by selecting it, and
then using it [note: you must be holding the torch you found when you fought the
little critters]. Once the torch is lit, throw the torch that you are holding,
towards the stairs. This will help light up the stairs a little.

Now, open the door, by using the lock. When the door opens, a Knight will come
through to attack you. Try backing away from the door, before it is completely
open. Then, use a combo to slice up the Knight before he slices you up. One good
combo to use is to press attack, then Left arrow, then up arrow. It may also
help, if you press the ‘Lock On” key, before the Knight gets to you.

Once the Knight dies, he will drop another Gladius, and a Comet Shield (unless
you broke it off of him). Pick them both up (yes, you can hold a second sword in
your inventory - This is done for no other reason, then to help you adjust to
the
game mechanics). Go up the stairs, into the next room. You will find a few
Wooden
Crates that you can break open to find cheese. There is also a table, which has
a
few other food items, and a Chalice. You can leave the Chalice behind… Anyway,
the final area of importance in this room, is the elevator. You should see the
wooden square on the floor, and the lever that activates it. Hop onto the
elevator, and give the lever a tug.

Lower Quarters

Ride the elevator down, and then quickly step off of it. The elevator will
automatically return to the room above, and you wouldn’t want to get smashed
when
it does that. Anyway, continue onward, and up a series of stairs. You will come
to a room with 3 more of the little critters from earlier. They should be no
problem for you, with your current sword (However, 2 of the are Level 2... As
opposed to the Level 1 critters from earlier).

Beyond the 3 critters, there is a room full of boxes and barrels. You can refill
your hit points if you smash open the barrels for the food items inside. At the
back of this room, you will see 2 large wooden boxes that block access to the
stairs. At the top of the stairs, you may already be able to see the Knight.
Break the barrels, and jump on top of the larger boxes, to gain access to the
stairs. At this point, the Knight will begin walking down the stairs towards
you.
Take him out. [Note: if you are quick about it, you can jump the boxes, and run
up the stairs before the Knight gets to the stairs. You can get in a few chops
before he knows that you are there.] Use your Comet Shield (if you salvaged one)
to block his attacks, and then counter attack. When the Knight is dies, and if
you have killed all 6 of the Critters, and the last 3 Knights, you should level
up. The first thing that you may notice is that you have 200 hit points now,
instead of the 100 that you had before. Also, you will have more power (do more
damage), have more Energy (you can attack more before becoming tired), and you
will be able to use higher level combos. Anyway, continue up the stairs.

You will go outside, and then back inside. When you enter the room at the top of
the stairs, another Knight will attack you. This Knight is stronger then
previous
Knights (he is level 2, with 40 hit points, instead of the 10 hit points on
previous Knights). He will dodge left, and right, and he will probably chop
right
through your shield. You’ll want to lock onto him early, and then chop him fast
and hard. Throw out a combo or two early in the fight, and then focus on
attacking fast enough so that he can not counter attack. The Knight will drop
the "Iron Key" (which will appear automatically into your inventory, to save you
the effort of looting it). When the Knight is dead, enter the room which he came
out of. You will find a few barrels, which hold the normal food items, and you
will find a dinner table. On the table, you will find a large assortment of food
items, and a knife. The knife has little value though. Anyway, eat until full,
and head back out the way which you came. Across from the dinner table room, you
will find another path which leads to a room, with 2 locked doors.

More Knights... and a neat Axe

Use the Iron Key to unlock the two doors, and then, take the door to the right.
Follow the stairs downward, to the next area. A Knight will run over to attack
you. Kill him, and check the items on the ground. This Knight should have
dropped
a “Life Potion Full” (unless he used it during the fight), a Gladius, and a
Shield (unless you broke it during the fight). Continue forward towards the
Torch
on the floor. If you look around a little, you should find an "Eclipse Axe",
which is resting against the weapons rack. Pick it up… You will not have enough
energy to swing the Eclipse Axe, so just tuck it away, and pull out your trusty
Gladius Sword. If you have been pack-ratting the Gladius Swords, you may not be
able to pick up the Axe. Just toss the extra swords down (keeping one of them)…

Anyway… Head back out to the room which had the 2 locked doors, and take the
left
hand door this time. A small cut-scene will take over, showing you 3 Knights,
and
their patrol route. Walk over to the ledge (looking down on the courtyard, where
the Knights are on patrol). When you feel up to it, jump over and down to the
courtyard, and begin your slaughter of the Knights. You will have to face 3 of
them initially. A forth Knight will come out of a door, after you have killed 2
of the first 3 Knights. The forth Knight is the Captain (Level 3, 100 hit
points), and is by far, the toughest of the bunch. The first thing different
about him that you will notice, is his larger Wooden Shield. Not only is his
shield larger, he is much more proficient with it. The best way to deal with him
is to “hit and run”. Keep circling around towards the side (in a continuous
circular pattern). When you get a clear shot at his back, or even his side, dive
in with one or two quick chops. Quickly pull out of the fight by pressing the
back button (down arrow). Doing this will help you to dodge his counter
attacks.
Be patient, and take your time during this fight. This Knight will do more
damage
when he hits you, then previous Knights. A good spot to target is the Knights
legs. When you go in to attack, press the down arrow, along with the attack key
to hit him below his shield (if you are using the sword). You may or may not
level up after this fight. If you do level up, you will now have 300 hit points,
and you will have enough energy to swing the Eclipse Axe.

[Note: You can not use a shield with the Eclipse Axe. The Axe is a two-handed
weapon. However, you can block attacks with the axe, the same way you would have
with the shield. The thing to keep in mind, is that the Eclipse axe can handle
10
points of blocking damage before it is destroyed. For this reason, you will
probably not want to use the Eclipse axe to block incoming attacks.]

From here, run to the end of the Courtyard, and into the castle again. You will
find a few barrels (empty ones) and another Elevator. Activate the lever to
raise
the Elevator, and then again… Quickly exit the lift before it lowers itself back
down. Continue into the next room. There will be a few empty barrels, and
another
lever. Pulling this lever will open the gate in the courtyard below (where you
fought the 4 Knights). Return using the lift, and proceed through the (now)
opened gate.

4 Boxes are blocking my path!

You may see the 4 boxes that block the path. Forget them for now. Search through
this area until you find the entrance back into the castle. There will be 2
rooms. One has a few boxes with food items. On the floor, you should find an
unlit torch. Pick this torch up, and light it on the torch that is mounted on
the
wall. Now, take this lit torch over to the 4 piled up boxes. You should notice
that the top right hand box is a different shade in color than the other 3. Use
the torch to burn this box. Once the box has been removed (by fire), climb over
the remaining boxes, and enter the next area.

Beyond the Boxes

In this room, you can break the boxes for food, but after that, hang a right and
go up the stairs. Pay attention to the downward stairs, as you pass by (the
Chapel). You will be returning to open that door, after you find the key.
Continue up the stairs… You will hear 2 Knights talking. This will clue you in…
As you round the corner at the top of the stairs, the 2 Knights will attack.
Both
are Level 3, and have 100 hit points each. One is wielding a Club/Wood Shield
combo, and will drop the Chapel Key (that locked door we just passed). Lock on,
and chop low (Attack + Down Arrow (with sword & shield)). When you kill the
Knights, the key will automatically show up in your inventory.

The Chapel

With the Chapel Key in hand, return to the locked door to gain entry. Enter the
Chapel, and locate the life potion, and the Death Sword. Once you have the Death
Sword, return to where you fought the two Knights (remember? one of them had the
Chapel key), and locate the switch for the door. Tug on the lever, and the door
will open.

[Note: Just as with the Eclipse Axe, the Death Sword can not be used with a
shield, and it can be used to block incoming attacks. Again... This isn't a good
idea, as the Death Sword can not handle more then 10 points of blocking damage.]

Atop of the Ramparts

When the door opens, step through it, and take a look around. There is a Knight
on patrol directly in front of you, a few down the side (below you), and another
one on patrol across on the other ramparts. Walk forward, keeping an eye towards
the left. You will see a door leading into the tower. Make note of it, and
continue forward towards the greenish lit room, where the Knight patrolled into.
Kill him, and activate the Draw Bridge Lever. Exit here, and relocate the path
that I told you to take note of. Enter it, and follow the stairs downward.

At the bottom, you will pass another locked door (Armory), and then come face to
face with another Knight (just past the Armory). Kill him to retrieve the Armory
Key. Return to the Armory, and enter. Inside the Armory, you will find a
Boathook, a mace, 3 life potions, and a couple shields and swords. The Mace is
pretty powerful. If you do not have room to pick up everything, or if you have
no
interest in toying with all the stuff, then make sure that you grab the Mace,
and
a new Wooden Shield off the floor.

Now, return to the corpse of the Knight, who had the Armory Key. You should
follow the path out into the courtyard (remember? the two Halberd wielding
Knights we saw earlier?). Kill the 2 Knights, and then locate the chest. The
chest contains a Life Potion (25). You will need to break the chest open to get
inside it. Once you’ve done that, double back the way that you came, and go up
the stairs. You will end up on the rampart that was across from you earlier.
There will be a Knight up here. Kill him, and then head into the bridge tower.
You can detect it by the greenish illumination coming from it. [Note: if the
Knight isn't there, go ahead and pull the lever. The Knight will hear the noise,
and come running] Inside this tower, you will find a bridge lever. Pull it, and
head back across the rampart into the room at the other side, where you can
recover hit points from the food items. Now, go back down the stairs, and head
for the Armory from earlier. You should spot the open Drawbridge (near the
Armory).

Crossing the Bridge

Head back towards the Armory, and cross the Draw Bridge. From here, you can head
into the room to the left to kill a few more Knights, and to locate the Power
Potion. The room to the right has a little food, and if you go straight ahead,
you will fight the “Red Knight”.

Power Potion

If you head to the left after crossing the Drawbridge, you will be able to find
a “Power Potion”. When you enter, you will be attacked by 2 Knights. Kill them,
and then navigate your way forward. Pay attention to the locked Tower along the
way (it is sort of hidden by a few piled up boxes)... At the end of this path,
there will be a small walkway which has 2 swinging fire things. To cross them,
time it so that you run as soon as the first one crosses in front of you. Get
the
potion, and get out.

The Red Knight

To kill the Red Knight… well good luck. I hope that you kept some of the better
items (Mace / Wood Shield, Death Sword). The Red Knight can cast spells at you,
and is capable of killing you with 1 chop of his sword (ohh yeah... He can hit
for 2500+ damage. One chop can cut through your Wooden Shield, and slice you in
two). However, the Red Knight is slow, and clumsy. Try leading him out into the
open area. Circle Strife around him until you have an opening. Again, try to
chop
low so that you hit below his shield. You do not need to kill him all the way.
When you get him to 700-799 hit points, he should die on his own.

When the Red Knight dies, the door that he was standing in front of will open.
Enter inside, where you will confront 2 more Knights (Level 2 and Level 3). The
Level 3 Knight will drop the "Tower Key". Once you have the key, return to the
locked Tower near the Power Potion location (from before). Unlock and open that
Tower, and check inside. You should find the "Knight Light Armour (10 Def)", and
a Life Potion (Full).

The Tower

Tired of the "back and forth"? Well, one last time... Return to the area behind
where the Red Knight was located (where you got the Tower Key), and follow the
obvious path. You should find another locked Tower. The Tower Key will work on
it.

Beyond this door, you will find 2 rooms that have arrow traps. Just run quickly
across the rooms to avoid being hit. The second room will have a Level 3 Knight
at the end of it. Run right past this Knight, until you are sure that you are
out
of the arrow trap (then fight him). Check for items as you go (break the
chests).
You will soon come to a room with 2 Level 4 Knights 260 hit points each), and
Ragnar (who orders the 2 Knights to attack you). Kill the Knights... The one
with
the Axe is also holding the "Second Tower Key". With this key, continue ahead,
and unlock the door.

The Second Tower

Just inside of the Second Tower Door, you will face another Level 4 Knight. Kill
him and continue forward. Be warned... There are a couple trapped rooms ahead.
Listen carefully for the change in the music, and keep an eye out for Ragnar.
Continue forward, through the 2 trapped rooms ahead, and on to the final battle
of the Blade Demo.

Blade Trap

To get past the Blade Trap, you need to toss an item (item or weapon, etc) into
the Blade Trap. This will trigger the blades, and allow you to cross.

Spike Trap

Just as you did with the Blade Trap, toss something into the Spike Trap. The
spikes will fall, and then begin to slowly raise. You need to run under them
before they reset themselves.

Ragnar

The final battle comes quick, and perhaps for some, a little unexpectedly. As
you
enter the room at the top of the Tower, a cut-scene will take over, as Ragnar
speaks to you briefly. When the chit-chat is complete, Ragnar will attack.

Ragnar is very quick and agile, but does not have many hit points (200). He is
level 5, so you can expect him to pull off some nifty combo moves. Just keep
side
stepping, and swinging low. It also helps if you use the "escape jump" (press
down and the jump key). When Ragnar dies, he will drop a Life Potion (100), a
Combat Sword, his Round Shield (unless you destroyed it), and the "Ragnar Key".

The End

To complete the Demo version of Blade, locate the small room begin the area
where
you fought Ragnar. On the floor, there will be a couple books, and on the table,
there will be a Parchment. Pick up the Parchment to read a little "Plot
thickening", "buy the full version" info. This ends the Demo...

Full version continuation

The Mines of Mount Kelbegen

The Mines of Mount Kelbegen ("Mines" for short) begins as a very difficult
mission, and then balances out to moderate difficulty. The reason for the
difficulty is due to your lower level, and lack of weapons. This is, of course,
if you choose the Mines as the first area after your "Home Area". Just stick
with
it, as the game really begins to shine about half way through this area...

Getting Started - Top

At the beginning, you will need to jump over 2 pits (holes in the ground). If
you
put your weapons away, this jump will be a lot easier.

Boulder Traps (2) - Top

Continue ahead, until you come to a dead end, with a climbable ledge above you.
When you pull yourself up, you should hear a loud rumbling sound. This is the
clue... A huge Boulder will roll down towards you, and crush you if you do not
get out of it's way. Just drop down from the ledge, getting as close to the
ledge
as you can, so that the Boulder rolls over you.

For the second Boulder Trap, drop down from the ledge, and then back up against
the ledge again. There is a tough level 4 Orc here, who will avoid the Boulder
if
you stay up against the ledge. Then he will attack you.

However, if you get into the center of the area (after the Boulder passes you),
the Boulder will roll over, and kill the Orc. It's up to you on which you would
prefer. You will not get exp or if the Boulder rolls over the Orc, and the Orc's
weapons will all be crushed and ruined.

Elf Sword - Top

When you cross the Mine Cart Bridge, keep an eye towards the left hand wall. You
should see a broken Skull shield, and an Elf Sword. This sword is very powerful
in the hands of Sargon. You will need to make the dangerous jump across to the
sword, and then back again (unless you don't want the sword).

Bridge Traps (2) - Top

The next bridge that you come to will have a level 5 Goblin on the other side of
it. Notice how this Goblin will not cross the bridge. Then, notice the darker
coloration in the center of the bridge... Yup, it's a trap. Put your weapons
away, and then make a running-jump over the darker coloration. This is a very
difficult jump, and you will land in the arms of the Goblin.

Just after this bridge, you will see another bridge. It too will collapse as you
cross over it. However, if you keep running, you will make it across before it
falls. The difficulty is because of the big rock that is rolling down the side
of
the mountain. This rock poses no danger to us directly, but it does cause a
small
trimmer. This causes your entire screen to shake, and makes it easy to run off
of
the bridge. Make it easier on yourself, and "plot your direction" before
crossing, then run straight across the bridge.

The Orc and the Iron Key - Top

After the two bridge traps, you will follow the mountain around to a Level 6
Goblin Archer (up high) and a Level 4 Orc (with an Orc Sword (Orc Sword = Poison
attacks)). This is where most people will have difficulty. At low levels, you
are
not strong enough to take this Orc "man to man". You will need to be quick, and
able to dodge or block attacks. It will also help if you have some Life Potions,
or even a Power Potion.

Skipping this Orc is not an option, as he is holding the Iron Key (which you
need). I suggest that you save your game before fighting this Orc (unless you
are
level 6 or greater, then you should have little trouble).

After you kill the "Iron Key Orc", you should pick up his Orc Sword (even if it
isn't one of your proficient weapons). The Poison effect will come in handy
later
(trust me).

Use the Iron Key on the Iron Lock to proceed.

Goblins and another Orc - Top

After killing the "Iron Key Orc", you will pass through a Mine Tunnel with
6 "Critters". Kill them, and continue until you see a door, partially covered by
stacked up boxes. Break through the boxes... (if you need food, there is a
little
in the boxes).

Now... Outside of this door, you will be attacked by 2 Level 6 Goblins, and
another Level 4 Orc (who has an Orc Sword (Poison)). This can be a tough fight,
but there is a trick that you can use...

[Trick: Step outside to attract the Orc and Goblins. As they come towards you,
fallback into the Mine Tunnel (where you broke the boxes), and cross over the
small bridge. The Goblins and the Orc will not cross over this bridge. They will
stay at the door (unless you are within their attack range).]

Use your Bow and Arrow (if you have one) to pick them off. If you do not have a
bow and arrow, you can try throwing extra weapons at them (though the weapons
will often hit the top of the Mine Tunnel). Also... If you picked up the Orc
Sword earlier (as I suggested), you can dash across the bridge, and chop at the
Orc and Goblins, and then fallback across the bridge again. Wait as they die
from
the poison.

[Note: the Orc has natural poison resistance. He will not take much damage from
the poison, so you will need to poison him many times before he dies.]

The Courtyard - Top

Ok... With the "courtyard" (as I call it) clear, take a moment to look around.
You should find 3 entrances that you can use. With your back to the Mine Tunnel,
go from right to left (counter-clockwise). The first choice being the entrance
to
your right as you exit the Mine Tunnel.

I will refer to this area often, as this is the "center of operations" for the
rest of this area.

Red Gem - Top

Take the right hand entrance, and kill the Level 6 Goblin Archer (yes, this is
the one that shot at you earlier when you fought the Iron Key Orc). You can find
a Bundle of Quarles against the wall, and the Goblin drops a Light Bow (if you
need).

Continue across the bridge, breaking the boxes out of your way, and step
outside.
You will find an elevator, and a lever to activate it. Ride the elevator down,
and then drop to the lower area below. If you check around, you can find a War
Axe (great for Naglfar (The Dwarf)). With or without the Axe, locate the Tunnel
going deeper into the mountain (the entrance is under the bridge from the
elevator).

When you enter the first room, a "cut-scene" will show 3 Spiders dropping in to
attack you. The Spiders are all level 1, and should not be much of a problem.
Kill them, and then look around for a Power Potion.

Follow the path to the next room, and then climb up the cliffs to the left.
Follow the obvious path until you come to a collapsed bridge. You need to put
your weapons away, and make a running jump to make it across the bridge.
Continue
on until you come to another collapsed bridge.

This bridge is too far to jump across. Instead, look to your left (left if you
are looking across the bridge), and you should notice a small ledge going around
to the other side of the bridge. Drop down, and jump from ledge to ledge to get
to across. You can pick up a 150 Life Potion along the way. Once you get to the
other side of the bridge, look down on the other side of the bridge. You can
drop
down again, and pick up a 500 Life Potion. Anyway, get back on the bridge, and
continue on.

At the end of the path, you will find the Red Gem. As you near the Gem, 3 Level
6
Goblins will drop into the room, and attack. If you have trouble with them, just
fallback to the stairs. You can "bottle-neck" them on the steps, and fight them
1-
on-1.

Once the Goblins are dead, pick up the Red Gem, and then climb up the ledge
where
the "first" goblin dropped in from. Follow the path until you reach a sun lit
area. There will be a lot of wood along the walls. If you look closely, you
should notice that there is a blocked door (covered by wood). It is hard to
see... Anyway, break through the wood, and enter the small cave. You will find a
Scythe and a Sablazo. The Scythe is a very good weapon for Tukaram (the
Barbarian), and the Sablazo is an awesome weapon for Sargon (the Knight).

Follow the obvious path until you come to a steel door. Pull the lever on the
wall to open the door. The door returns you to the elevator (where you began
at...). Ride the elevator back up, and cross the bridge to return to
the "Courtyard". When you get to the Courtyard, 2 Level 4 Goblins have spawned
are are there to attack.

You can take the Red Gem to the "Gem Room" now, or head directly for the Blue
Gem.

Blue Gem - Top

From the "Courtyard", enter the second entrance. When you step into the doorway,
you will notice that the path splits to the left and the right. You will return
here later to take the left path, so for now, take the right path across the
bridge. A cut-scene will show a "Critter" swipe and swallow the Blue Gem, and
then run off.

Drop down to the lower area, and head left (left if your back is to the path
back
to the Courtyard). You will run into a Orc (this one does not have a Orc Sword
(yay! no poison). Kill the Orc. The Critter with the Blue Gem will also attack
you. When you kill it, be sure to search carefully for the Blue Gem... The Blood
and Guts can cover it up.

With the above directions mentioned, I'll try to simplify this area. The lower
portion (where the Critter and the Orc were located) makes a large loop around,
and back to the bridge where you dropped in at. There is another path that cuts
this loop in half (so all 3 paths connect to each other). Go ahead and explore
at
will. Down here, you will need to locate the Critter with the Blue Gem, and the
Orc with the Iron Key. There are 7 more Critters down here that you can kill for
the exp value, and there is a Level 6 Goblin (more exp).

When you are finished killing stuff, return to the bridge were you watched the
Critter swallow the Blue Gem. Under the bridge, you should see a door, and a
lock. Use the Iron Key to open the door, and cross the bridge. Use caution, as
there will be an Orc hiding just inside the Tunnel after you cross the bridge.
Kill him, and continue on. You will cross another bridge, and then you will come
to a door with a Lever. Pull the lever to open the door. This door leads back to
the Courtyard. When you return to the Courtyard, there will be 2 more Goblins
there, ready to attack you.

You can take the Blue Gem to the Gem Room now, or head directly for the Green
Gem.

Green Gem - Top

The Green Gem... By far, the most difficult of the 3 Gems. If you have recovered
the Red and Blue Gems, and if you have not yet save your game, then this would
be
a good time to do it.

From the Courtyard, enter the door that leads to the Blue Gem, but take the left
path, towards the other bridge. Be careful, as the bridge is a trap (or just
old), and will fall out from under your feet. Put your weapons away, and make a
running jump across the darker colored area on the bridge.

Continue ahead until you come to an elevator. Pull the lever and ride the
elevator down. At the bottom of the elevator, you will have 2 paths to choose
from. The straight ahead path leads to a "dead-end" (which will be the exit used
later). However, you can locate a Life Potion (500), and a Trident (great weapon
for the Amazon (Zoe)). You will need the Life potion later, so if at all
possible, save it. Once you have the life potion (and the Trident if you want
it), return to the elevator to take the other path.

When you enter the other path, you should see a Goblin in the distance, and a
mine cart. Kill the Goblin, and continue to another bridge. This bridge is
guarded by an Orc, and a Goblin Archer. The Orc likes to stand his ground (on
the
center of the bridge), while the Goblin will fire arrows until you are out of
range, and then he will pursue you. Take advantage of this, and have the Goblin
follow you away from the Orc, so that you can kill him alone. The Orc is a bit
of
a challenge. As mentioned, he likes to stand his ground, and fighting on the
bridge is not a good idea. Use the Bow from the Goblin (or your own, if you
already have one), and fire arrows at the Orc. Know this... The Orc will often
fall off of the bridge, killing himself. If you are able to kill the Orc;
well.... Good job!

Once the Orc and Goblin are out of the way, continue across the bridge, and into
the small intersecting room. If you turn back around, you will see another
bridge
off to the right (going in a new direction, but running almost parallel to the
bridge were the Orc and Goblin were at). Cross this bridge and continue on
(fighting another Goblin) until you come to a collapsed bridge, with a Goblin
Archer on the other side. Use your bow and arrow to kill this Goblin (if you
can). If you do not have arrows, you will have to attack with your weapons.
Either way, you need to jump across this collapsed bridge. Put your weapons
away,
and make a running jump.

Once you are across the bridge, enter the room at the end, and look for a
Quarrel
of arrows. Step back out onto the bridge, and look downward. You will see
another
bridge below you. It will be right under the bridge that you are standing on (so
do not be confused by the other bridges). When you drop down, you will take 50-
150 damage (depending on your character). Alternatively, you can locate a few
stones that you can climb down, taking no damage at all.

Once you drop down, you have 2 choices to make. The Bridge that you dropped down
to has collapsed just like the one above. You can jump across it to locate the
Green Gem, OR you can drop down to another area, where you can "discover" the
areas "Secret". We will cover the Green Gem here, and at the bottom of this
page,
we will cover the secrets.

With that said, put your weapons away, and make a running jump across the
collapsed bridge. Follow the path into a cave, past boxes, and path a huge gate.
Look towards the right as you continue forward, and you should see the Green Gem
on the floor in the area below. Continue on until you find a set of stairs.
There
will be Spiders in the area, but they should be no problem. Use the stairs to
reach the Green Gem. When you near the Gem, 8 or so Critters will come out and
attack (Critters are level 6). Kill all of the Critters and then grab the Green
Gem.

Once you have the Green Gem, look carefully at the alcoves where the Critters
came out of. You should notice that they make a "stair-case" of sorts. If you go
to the far right hand alcove, you can jump and pull yourself up. Continue your
climb until you reach the top. To the right, you will find a room with Boxes and
Barrels (with some food items inside). This room is the opposite side of that
Huge Gate you passed on your way in. Exit back out of this room, heading left
from the top of the alcoves. You will enter a Room with a Goblin (L6). This room
is the opposite side of the Large Doors that you may have noticed at the top of
the stairs (where you fought the Spiders).

Anyway, continue on... You will find a Level 4 Orc, who happens to be holding
the
Iron Key. Kill him, recovering the Key, and then use the Key on the Lock. When
the door opens, you will be returned to the room where you found the 500 Life
Potion, and the Trident. From here, just use the 2 Elevators to return to the
Collapsed Bridge, jump across the bridge, and then return to the Courtyard.

Gem Room - Top

Once you have all 3 of the Gems (Red, Blue, and Green), enter the Gem Room (it
is
in the "Courtyard"). Place each Gem on the correct Gem Slot (they are marked).
You could place the Gems as soon as you found them, or all at once. When you
have
placed all 3 Gems, a cut-scene will take over. You will ride an elevator down,
where an Ogre will enter and attack you.

The Ogre - Top

The Ogre is very powerful, but also very slow. He uses a Huge Spiked Club, and
swings with high damaging strokes. Sound scary? Well it isn't. Just "Lock-On"
and
use the strife (when Locked on, press left or right to circle). When the Ogre
swings, he will miss. When the Ogre is half way through his swing, move in and
chop/stab/crush him with a swing of your own, and then back up and continue your
circle. Repeat this until the Ogre is dead.

Once the Ogre is dead, go through the door that he opened, and follow the path.
You will come to an area with 2 holes in the ground. You will need to drop into
one of these holes. You will end up under the first hole, but jumping over the
first hole has it's rewards.

Between the 2 holes, there is a "Sharp Axe" (good weapon for Naglfar - The
Dwarf).

Drop into the Second Hole, and work your way back under the First Hole. You will
see another path, leading deeper into the cave. As you begin to enter this path,
you will hear loud rumbling, and the screen will shake. This is your clue... Two
Boulders will drop into the room, and roll down this path (crushing you, if you
do not get out of the way). Just enter the path to trigger the Boulders, and
then
return to the room with the hole, but get against the wall.

After the Boulders have passed, follow the path down. You will come to a sun-lit
area, with a Hole in the center of it. If you are not careful, you will fall
into
this hole. Step towards the left, and go around the hole to the canyon (or
ledge). Jump across to the other side, and go up the steps, and across another
bridge. You will come to an area where you can climb the ledges on the mountain.
When you reach the top, you will find a hole (partially blocked by rocks). Drop
into this hole, and walk in the only direction (towards the illuminated stone
carving). When you reach the carving, the areas ending dialogue will begin.

The Areas Secret - Top

As mentioned, there is a secret area along the path to the Green Gem. Read
the "Mines / Green Gem" section for directions.

Once you reach the Bridge with the Goblin Archer on the other side, you will
need
to jump across. Drop down to the bridge below... From here, look down again,
until you see a ledge that is close enough for you to drop down to (it is
against
the wall). Drop down to this ledge, and then look for the wooden barricade.
Break
through the barricade, and enter the Cave.

There will be a few Spiders inside of the Cave, but they should be little
problem. Just ahead, you will enter a room with an acidic fluid. You may want to
save your game before entering this room. When you do enter, the door will close
shut behind you, and Acid will begin to flood the room. There is a cut-scene
that
shows this happening. When the cut-scene ends, the acid will rise very rapidly.
You will take damage before you can actually move. To lower the damage that you
take, and to increase your chance at survival, move as fast as you can...

Climb up the ledges on the center area. On each ledge, there will be a weapon of
some sort. None of these weapons are of extraordinary value, and are placed
there
to tempt you to stop and pick them up. You may be able to if you are incredibly
fast, but it is not worth the risk. Just keep climbing up, and ignore the
weapons. When you reach the top, walk over and touch the book. A cut-scene will
take over...

After grabbing the book, you may notice the Rune icon that is now displayed
under
your Hit Point and Exp bars. Also, you can now access the "Secrets" tab in your
Journal (Hit F1).

Once you have the book, a bridge will slide over, giving you an escape route.
Cross the bridge, and press the button. The wall will slide open, returning you
to the collapsed bridge from earlier.

Before you leave the area, you may be interested in the Life Potion (Full) that
is at the base of the middle Acid stream. You can jump from the bridge over to
the ledge on the side of the room to locate the Life Potion. To get back, you
will need to jump across to the center area (and you may take a little more acid
damage), and then climb back to the top.

Fortress of Tell Halaf

The Fortress is a very difficult area. I say this first, because many people
have
chosen the Fortress as their first area, after completing their home area. I
would suggest the Mines first, but you if have already chosen, then your stuck
with your choice.

The Fortress has a simple "Blue Print". The difficulty is mostly due to the Orcs
who are wielding "Orc Swords" (poison). Anyway, we are going to help you through
it. For the Fortress, we have maps, tricks, and secrets for you.

Because we have a map for this area, we will not put in as many "text"
directions
as we normally would. We will point you towards the map in many of our examples,
or we will use one of the maps "labels" to assist in our directions.

With that said, lets begin...

Getting Started (Outer Circle) - Top

When you begin, you should head towards your left. If you need a shield, you can
pick up a Comet Shield by going towards the right. Anyway, go left and enter the
first Stable that you come to (it will be on your left). You may run into a
Goblin when entering the Stable, or you may not (he has a patrol route). If he
isn't there, don't worry... You'll be back to kill him in a minute.

Stables 1 & 2 Top

Enter the first Stable (marked as Stable 1 on the map), and go up the stairs.
There will be a Goblin up there, who is waiting to surprise attack you. Kill
him,
and then from the second level, go outside onto the ramparts (the walkway), and
head towards to the next stable.

[Note: get used to doing this up and down stuff. You will be crossing from
Stable
to Stable a lot in this area.]

There will be another Goblin on the ramparts just before you enter the next
Stable. Kill him, and then search the second Stable for the Naginata (good
Amazon
weapon). Now, go down the stairs, and fight another Goblin.

Be warned... This Goblin will often "squeal", which will alert the Goblin
outside
of the Stable. Then, that Goblin will Squeal, which will alert the Orc down the
street. These Goblins should not be much of a problem, but fighting two level 6
Goblins and a Level 4 Orc (who is wielding a Orc Sword), can be a tough fight.
But, don't worry. I warn you only so that you will be aware. If you hear a bunch
of "squealing" going on, be ready to fall back.

Anyway... Kill the Goblin in the Stable, and then exit back out to the streets.
If you fought a Goblin before you entered Stable #1, then you should find 1
Goblin in the street near Stable #2, and the Orc, who is by Stable #3. If you
did
not kill that Goblin, then when you exit Stable #2, turn to your right, and go
kill him.

Once all of the Goblins are dead, head for Stable #3, and fight the L4 Orc. This
Orc DOES have an Orc Sword, so be ready to block or dodge.

ORC SWORD INFO: "What's so special about an Orc Sword?"

-----------------------------------

When an Orc has an Orc Sword, he tends to attack much more aggressively then
other Orcs. This makes the Orc much more dangerous then a common Orc. However,
this isn't the bad part...

First... The Orc Sword is laced with poison. When you are hit by the sword, your
life meter will turn green, and the word "POISONED" will show up across it. You
will begin to lose hit points each second or so that you are poisoned.

On top of the poison effect, the Orc Sword does a lot of damage, compared to the
other weapons that are available during the early stages of the game.

To sum it up... An Orc will swing wildly with the Orc Sword in hand, often
attacking 3 or more times in a row, and very quickly. When you are hit by the
blade, you will be poisoned, and you will be damaged by the normal attack. The
attack damage that you take will be considerable, due to the power of the Orc
Sword.

Your best bet, when dealing with the Orcs who have an Orc Sword, is to stick and
move.

Don't try to use any combos, and don't try to hit the Orc more then once during
each melee.

If you can, then use a shield, and use it well.

Try fighting in open area, where you have plenty of room to move.

Keep circling the Orc, until he attacks. When he attacks, he will be very
vulnerable from the side, or from behind.

If the Orc does not have a Key, or any other important item, then alert him so
that he chases you. Let him chase you a good distance away, and then run for the
real destination. You can out run the Orc(s) with ease.

Stables 3 & 4 - Top

At the end of the streets, you will come to a locked gate. If you turn around,
you should see a wood barricaded door (the wood is already broken). Enter Stable
#3 from that door. As soon as you enter, turn back around, and look at the
inside
of the door. You should see a lever. This lever would have opened the wooden
door, had it not already been broken. This lever has no effect at all, but be
aware of other levers such as this one.

If you need some food, you can find some in the Barrels. If you don't need food,
then remember where it is located (you may be coming back for it).

Anyway, go up the stairs, and look for a lever near another wooden door. Pull
the
lever, and the door will open. Outside the door, a L6 Goblin will be waiting to
attack, and a L5 Goblin Archer will begin firing arrows. Kill these two Goblins,
and then cross the Ramparts to Stable #4.

On the second level of Stable #4, against the wall near a weapons rack, you can
locate a "Bo", a Quarrel of Arrows, and a "Light Edge". The Bo is a basic Pole
Arm, with little value. The Light Edge is a very powerful Mace weapon (best used
by Sargon - The Knight). If you still are in need of food, there are a few
Apples
on top of one of the Vases (There are more Apples on the bottom floor, hiding in
a bucket).

After checking out Stable #4, go down the stairs and pull the next lever to open
the door. Exit out to the street, and pull the lever which opens the Gate back
towards Stables 1-3, and then head for Stable #5. You will need to fight a L5
Goblin along the way.

Stables 5 & 6 - Top

Enter Stable #5, and head for the stairs. A L6 Goblin will be waiting about half
way up the stairs. Kill him and continue up to the second floor.

On the second floor, the door leading out to the Ramparts will be open, and a L6
Goblin Archer will be outside, waiting to shoot arrows at you. If you alert him,
and then duck for cover, he will come in to fight you with his Mace. This is
wise
to do... An arrow in the face will likely kill you (though arm, leg, and body
shots are easy to shake off).

If you need food, there is a piece of Meat in a Vase. Meat, as you probably
know,
heals 75 hit points. There is also a Spear on the Rampart (where the Archer was
standing). The Spear is best used by the Amazon.

Cross the Rampart, and enter Stable #6. You can find a few more Apples (on a
barrel), and a piece of bread and Cheese on the bench. Outside Stable #6, a L6
Goblin will be waiting to attack you. Again... You will want to listen for his
to "squeal". If he alerts the Orc down the street, you may be in trouble. Either
way, kill the Goblin, and head down the street towards the Orc, and Stable #7.

The Orc - Top

At the end of the street, before Stable #7, there is a L5-6 Orc. This Orc is
very
difficult to deal with, and is where most people will have a hard time
(especially if they picked the Fortress over the Mines). However, we have a
couple tricks for you.

Plan A

Follow the street back to Stable #1. If you have been pulling the levers for the
gates, then this should be a short run. Pick up weapons along the way, until you
can carry no more.

When you get to Stable #1, continue to follow the streets counter-clockwise
until
you come to a closed gate. If you look through the gate, you can see the L6 Orc,
and chances are, he'll see you too.

No matter... Pull out your Bow and Arrow, and fire on him. You will need to fire
through the gate, making sure not to hit the bars. The easiest way to do this,
is
to get right up against the gate. When you hit the Orc, he will retreat inside
of
Stable #7. Wait 45 seconds, and he will return. Repeat until you are out of
arrows, and then pull out the extra weapons that you have picked up. Throw the
weapons at the Orc. The easiest way to do this, is to "lock-on" and stand as
close to the gate as you can. Sometimes, your guy (or girl) will get confused,
and instead of throwing the weapon, they will attack. Re-adjust your placement
on
the gate, and then try again. If you still can not throw weapons, then switch to
a new one. I found that Gladius swords, Maces, and Axes worked well. If you run
out of weapons to throw, retrace your steps through the area, picking up weapons
the the Goblins dropped.

Check the pics... Hehe, notice the weapons all over the ground?

You do not need to kill the Orc, just wound him enough so that you can take him
out face to face.

Plan B

Alert him, and then run away. The Orc should follow you. Allow him to follow you
down the street, and into Stable 5. From there, run up stairs, and over to
Stable
6. Exit Stable 6, and run for Stable 7. You should be able to continue without
fighting the Orc (maybe come back later after you level). However, you will not
gain the exp for killing him.

Stable 7 & 8 - Top

Enter Stable 7 and check around. You can locate a Chaos Sword (Barbarian weapon,
of little value), and a piece of meat. There is a second piece of meat upstairs
inside of a cauldron.

When you are ready, pull the lever to open the door. Outside on the Ramparts,
there is another Level 5 Orc. This one will be a little easier to deal with then
the last one. Yes, this Orc has an Orc Sword, but no shield, and you have
2 "natural" shields at your disposal (well not so natural). There are 2 support
beams on the center of the rampart. If you lock-on to the Orc, you should be
able
to keep one of these support beams between you and him. Wait for the Orc to
swing
(hitting the support beams) and then counter attack with a "side" swing. You
will
want to swing so that you weapon "reaches" around the support beam, and hits the
Orc. Swinging with a downward swing will hit the pole. If all else fails, you
can
run off, allowing the Orc to chase you, and then double back. [Note: You can see
the support beams in the image, but not the Orc.]

Continue on across the Rampart to the Stable, and enter inside. You will find a
Sablazo, a Sharp Axe, 4 Apples, and a piece of Cheese (in cauldron) inside of
Stable #8. Exit Stable #8 and pull the lever to open the gate. You can now come
and go as you please (in the main streets). [Note: If you lured any of the Orcs
away so that you could pass, you may not want to exit Stable #8 (and if you
lured
the Orc blocking the rampart to Stable #8, you may not want to even enter Stable
#8, but instead cross the rampart to the center circle.)]

The Center Circle - Top

With the Outer Circle clear, return to the rampart that is between Stable #7 and
Stable #8 (where the level 5 Orc was located). You will notice a "branch" in the
rampart, leading into the Center Circle. Cross the Rampart into the Center
Circle, and take the stairs down to ground level. There is a L6 Goblin here for
you to deal with. Kill him, and then follow the streets counter-clockwise. You
will walk to the other side of the Circle, where you will locate another set of
stairs. There will be 3 Goblins along the way, and a 4th that will come from the
steps. Kill them, and then go up the steps.

When you go up the steps, you may or may not be attacked by a Goblin Archer
(depends on if he noticed you or not). Check the map for his location if you do
not see him, or check the screenshot. If you have any arrows, you should try
to "snipe" this Goblin now., so that he does not snipe you.

You may also notice that you are blocked in by a gate. Unless you looked very
carefully, you may not notice the small "rim" that goes around the gate. You
need
to jump onto this rim, and follow it around the gate. When doing this, that
Goblin Archer that I mentioned will notice you, and attack (unless you sniped
him).

You will need to climb back onto the rim to get around 2 more gates. After the
3rd gate, look on the floor of the rampart. You should see a dead Knight, and a
key (Duke's Bedroom Key). Pick up this key, and then return to the stairs. If
you
check go counter-clockwise, past the steps, on the ground level, you can locate
a
Scythe behind a practice dummy. Now, follow the streets around to the Entrance
to
the center area (check the map).

Tower - Top

Locate the "entrance" to the Tower from the "Inner Circle", between the 2 pairs
of steps. When you enter, a L6 Goblin will attack you. As you continue further
inside, and a L6 Goblin and a L5 Orc will attack you (they will come from the
sides, near the steps... Check the map). This can be a rough fight, so do not
hesitate to fallback, and use obstacles to your advantage (fight from the bottom
of steps with target at the top, or fallback to the practice dummies outside,
and
use it as a shield).

From here, our map does not continue. You will work your way up the Tower, and
trying to fit 5 levels on the map was impossible. Also, the levels above are
very
simple, and do not require a map (or we would have found a way to squeeze them
in).

Head up one of the 2 sets of stairs from the bottom floor. Either staircase will
work. The only difference is the steps where the Orc was, there will be a Goblin
along the way up. You will have to fight this Goblin either way, but by choosing
your steps, you will have the option of sniping him with your bow.

On the second level, you will have to fight three L6 Goblins (one of them is the
Goblin from the steps). Kill them, and then go up the other steps to the third
floor. Which set of steps does not matter.

On the Third Floor, you will need to kill three more L6 Goblins. From the Third
Floor, you will find a small set of stairs in the center of the floor. Follow
this set of stairs up to a room which holds a Life Potion (Full), Cheese,
Apples,
and Bread Crust.

Head up to Level 4, where a L7 Goblin and a L6 Orc will attack you. This sounds
worse then you think. The Level 6 Orc is wielding a Mace, instead of the dreaded
Orc Sword. However, do not take this fight lightly. After you kill these 2, go
out onto the balcony, and break the boxes. Hiding under the boxes; you will find
a Life Potion (150), and a Chaos Sword.

Duke Kerman's Bedroom - Top

If you already have the Duke's Bedroom Key, then use it now. If not, then locate
the gates from up here, and exit out to the "inner-circle" and grab it (Yeah...
You didn't need to scale the side of the wall, but that was more fun!). Go to
the
Bedroom door, and "use" the lock. If you have the Key, the door will open.

Enter the Dukes Bedroom, and look around. There is a lot of stuff in here, but
most of it has no real purpose other then decoration. There is a Elf Sword by
the
desk, and a lever hidden behind the boxes. You may also notice the peculiar
looking "Small Chest" on the shelf. To my knowledge, this Chest is decoration
only, and can not be opened.

Anyway, break the boxes, and pull the lever. The wall will side open, revealing
a
hidden escape elevator. You should see the activation lever on the wall of the
elevator shaft. Step onto the elevator, pull the lever, and ride it down to the
Throne Room. Walk over to the knight, and a cut-scene will take over.

After the cut-scene is over, check the ground for the items that the Knight
mentioned. Now, locate the locked gate, and "use" the lock (if you have the key)
to open the gate up. Step onto the elevator, and ride it down to the water.

[Area Secret: The Areas Secret is close... Read at the bottom for more info]

Follow the water to the gate (with the waterfall in the distance), and pull the
lever to open the gate. Walk through the waterfall to complete the area.

Area Secret - Top

After speaking with the dieing Knight in the Throne Room, and riding the
Elevator
down to the water, you can locate the "Area Secret". We have a lot of screen
shots to help you pin point the area, but against the left hand wall, you will
see a "Rune" button. This is found before the gate. When you press the Rune
Button, the wall will collapse, exposing another path.

After pressing the Rune Button, follow the stairs down until you come to a
bridge. Pay attention to the bridge, and notice the blades at the bottom of it.
This poses no danger at the moment, but it will later. I suggest that you save
you game at this point.

Cross the bridge, and pull the lever. A Cut-scene will take over, showing you
picking up the Rune Book.

Exit the "Rune" Room, back to the bridge, trying not to freak out when you see
the trap that has been "sprung"... Good thing you saved your game. You did save
didn't you? (naa... just kidding).

This trap is actually very easy to get across. It just looks bad. You will need
to jump to the center "hole", and then climb up to escape. Time it so that the
first blade will not hit you when you jump. When you land, get into the corner,
near the flame thrower (check the screenshot above if you are confused). Wait
for
the left hand blade to pass, and then pull your self up, and jump away from the
trap.

Exit the area, and exit from under the water fall to complete the area.

Tomb of Ephyra

I hope you are ready for a difficult area. The Tomb of Ephyra has it all; Traps,
ambushes, really difficult fights, tricky bow shots, secret areas, and more. I
would recommend saving you game a few times during this area.

Now... I am going to try to simplify this area, by breaking the area into
smaller
areas. Basically, you will need to go to area 1 before area 2, etc. So, each
area
will be given a numerical name, such as "Area 1". The few exceptions will be
areas that are not exactly along the "direct path" through the area (such as
secret areas), and/or areas of importance.

With that said, lets begin...

Getting Started (Ramparts) - Top

When you begin, look towards the tunnel in front of you. If you look close, you
should see a few fallen stones towards the left side. You can climb up to the
area above, by climbing these stones. Congratulations! You have just found your
first secret area.

Don't spend too much time patting yourself on the back, because there will be a
Goblin inside the building ready to attack you. So... Climb up as mentioned, and
then kill the Goblin .

Search the room for food items (meat and crust), as well as a "Axe Spear"
(Amazon), and a "Scythe" (Barbarian). You may need the food items later, so if
you can spare them, I'd suggest that you leave them be.

Once you are finished exploring this room, pull the lever by the door, where
another Goblin will be waiting to kill you. Get the drop on him, and then
continue across the ramparts.

When you enter the next room, another Goblin will be waiting to kill you. This
Goblin has a 150 Life Potion. Don't give him a chance to drink it! Kill him, and
then go down the stairs. You will see a few boxes... Break the boxes to uncover
a
50 Life Potion.

Area 1 Top

After killing the "150 Life Potion Goblin" and uncovering the 50 Life Potion,
exit the room, towards the large door. Another Goblin will be out here. Kill
him,
and then follow the "pillars" across to the other side of the area. You will
kill
another Goblin. This Goblin will have "Travelers Rations".

With these 2 Goblins dead, drop down to the lower area, and kill the Orc. This
Orc has a "Heavy Mace". The Mace isn't that great, but if you are playing as
Sargon, it will become very useful later.

Before you leave this area, make note of the Large Iron Locked Door. You will
need to find the Iron Key before you open the door, so for now... Just remember
where it is located.

Area 2 - Top

With Area 1 clear, go up the ramp (from where the Orc was located) and follow
the "pillars" towards the location where you fought the "Traveler Rations"
Goblin. You should notice another pathway, going along the right hand side of
the
large Tomb that is in the center of the area. Follow this path down, using
caution when you near the end of it.

There will be a Goblin Archer up high, in a window. If you can, shoot him with
your bow and arrow (save at least 1 arrow for later in the area). Killing him
now
will make things easier in a minute.

Continue to the end of the path, and drop down to the area below. You can drop
onto the boxes to soften your fall. When you get to the lower area, a L6 Orc
will
come out and attack. This Orc has a 150 Life Potion, so do not let him drink it.
Circle Strife him, waiting for you moment to attack, and then let him have it.
[Note: a patrolling Goblin may hear the battle sounds, and come to assist the
Orc].

When the "150 Life Potion Orc" dies, enter the building that he came out of (not
the building under the pathway you used to get here - confused?)

Area 3 (Iron Key) - Top

After killing the "150 Life Potion Orc", enter the building that he came out of.
In the back of the room, you will find a "spiraling staircase". Go up the
stairs,
keeping to the right. The stairs will branch off towards the left 2 times.
[Note:
you can take the left branches, but then return to the stairs and continue up.
Either way, you will enter every area. If you do not want to fight everything,
you can skip the "top" area, and instead, enter the second left branch].

When you reach the top of the stairs, you will have to fight a L6 Orc. Kill him,
and then enter the room at the top of the stairs. You should see a hole in the
floor, and a Long Sword (Barbarian). Drop into the hole, where you will fight a
L7 Goblin, who is wielding an Orc Sword (Poison). Kill him, and then check the
floor for another hole. Drop into this hole, and check around. [Note: If you
could not shoot the Goblin with your bow earlier, he will be in this room].

On the table in this room, you will find the "Way of Armina", and a piece of
cheese. Pick up the "Way of Armina" and under it, you will find the "Iron Key".
There is another table in this room, where you can find a piece of Meat and a
Crust.

[Note: The Way of Armina has no actual purpose. It is here to "show you" the way
to the next area. This is only slightly mentioned at the end of this area. The
only other reason for it is to help hide the "Iron Key".]

After picking up the needed items, go over to the door and pull the Lever. The
Lever is difficult to see unless you get really close (it is the same color as
the wall). When you pull the Lever, the door will open to a new room. There will
be another Goblin in here, unless you took the first left branch, and have
already killed him. Check the room for a couple weapons, and then exit back out
to the location where you fought the "150 Life Potion Orc".

Enter the building directly across from you (it is under the pathway of Area 2).

Area 4 (Iron Lock) - Top

After gaining the Iron Key, and exiting back out, enter the building directly
across from you.

You will fight 4 "Critters"... Then, check the boxes for food items. You should
find a piece of Cheese, and a Crust. Continue following the obvious path, and
check the next pile of boxes that you come to. Here, you should find a piece of
Cheese, and a piece of Meat.

Use caution now, as you enter the next room. There is a L6 Orc who has an Orc
Sword. Fight him, trying to conserver as many hit points as you can (you will
need them). If you are having a really difficult time, there is a trick to
dealing with him.

[Trick: Alert the Orc, by stepping into the room with him. As he comes towards
you, retreat back out of the room, near the boxes that you found. The Orc will
not exit the room. You can use this to your advantage, and attack him when he is
unable to counter attack. The best way to do this is to have him chase you
through the door. When he turns around to go back into the room, step up and
attack him, and then fallback again. He will come towards you, and then turn
around again... Repeat until he dies.]

Once the Orc is dead, locate and pull the lever on the wall. This will open the
door, allowing you to return to Area 1.

Now... Remember all of the Food Items, Life Potions, and the Travelers Rations
that you left behind (or not)? Locate any left over life restoring items, and
get
your hit points back to full (or near). [Note: there are 3 Mushrooms (30 Life
each) at the starting area]

Once you're back in shape, go over to the Iron Lock Door, and open it.

Area 5 (Undead) - Top

[Note: Switch to your Blunt Weapons now.]

When you open the Iron Lock, enter through the doorway, and walk down the center
of the area. Look towards the left, for a small doorway. This is your
first "Tomb". Anyway, step into this room, and be ready to step back out. When
you enter, 3 Skeletons (L6 & L7) will come out of hiding, and attack. Step back
out of the Tomb, allowing the Skeletons to follow you outside, where you will
have more room to maneuver.

[Trick: If you fall back past the Iron Door, and into the room where the 50 Life
Potion was found, the Skeletons will not follow. You can "not" take huge
advantage of this, but it is helpful in controlling the fight.]

Once you have dealt with the 3 Skeletons, re-enter the Tomb, and examine the
rooms that the Skeletons came out of. There will be 3 rooms in total, but only 2
of interest. One room will have a skeleton laying in the center of the floor,
and
the other will have 2 skeletons laying on the sides. In each of these rooms, you
will want to attack the back wall, breaking through, and exposing a hidden
chamber. In one room, you will find a "Venom Hammer", and a Life Potion (1000).
The other room will have a "Ghost Medallion".

[Note: For more info on the Ghost Medallion, hit the [F1] Key, and then press
the
right arrow 2 time. Basically, the Medallion raises your Poison Resistance,
and/or cures you for the Poison. You can not take the Ghost Medallion with you
when you exit this area (it will vanish).]

Once you have found these items, search the main Tomb for the next "pathway",
and
enter it cautiously. There will be a L6 Skeleton Archer, who will switch to
a "Hooked Sword" when you get into melee range. This Skeleton is pretty smart.
If
you back away from him, the Skeleton will quickly switch to a Bow, and fire
arrows at you.

Once that skeleton is dead, enter the room behind him (not the stairs... That is
for later). Anyway, enter the room behind the "Hooked Sword Skeleton", where you
will need to fight 2 more Skeletons. One of them will break through the wall,
and
the other is on a patrol route (so he may not be in this room yet).

Area 6 (Graveyard Key) - Top

Anyway, continue along the obvious path, and go up the stairs. You will come to
a
room with 3 doors, and a huge hole in the floor (more like... no floor). One of
the doors will be easy to see, and easy to enter. Forget about this door for the
moment. The other 2 doors and more difficult to see, as they are across the
floor, beyond the hole. You will need to "shimmy" across what remains of the
floor, and make a running jump into the left most door. Both doors lead to this
room, and the left most door is the easier jump of the two.

Once you're in the room, go around the corner, where 2 (L6) Skeletons will
attack
you. Kill them, and then check the rear of the area for the "Graveyard Key" and
a
Life Potion (Full).

Exit back out of the room, the same way that you entered it (jumping across the
hole, and then shimmy back). Now, you will want to use the other door (the one
that I told you to forget about for the moment). Enter this door, and take the
stairs down. You will enter a room with 2 boxes, and 2 small square holes in the
floor. Walk past the boxes, and drop into the hole.

Area 7 (Death Knights) - Top

You will enter a room which will have a War Hammer, and a Power Potion. Also,
there will be 3 (L9 & L10) "Zombie Knights". The Knights are really easy to deal
with. They move so slow that you should be able to chop right though them.

Once the Knights are dead, exit the room, and follow the obvious path until you
see trees. At the Trees, you will find a Death Sword, and a Round Shield (behind
one of the trees). You will also see a couple windows (on the left side). One of
these windows has a "square" shape to it. You can climb through this one. Check
the Screen Shot for exact window.

Crawl through the window, where you will have to fight 4 more "Zombie Knights".
You will begin fighting against 2 Knights, but as one dies, another will crawl
out of the ground.

Continue forward, where you will fight 5 more Zombie Knights. When they are
dead,
look up along the walls. You should find a window that you can climb out of.

Climb out of the window, and head for the "Graveyard Door".

Area 8 (The Graveyard) - Top

Now, you may want to save your game before entering into the Graveyard. When you
do enter, the door behind you will close shut, locking you in. Skeletons will
then begin to crawl out of the ground and attack. You will always be fighting at
least 2 Skeletons at a time. When you kill one, and other will crawl out of the
ground. The First pair of skeletons will be L6 and L7. The second set will be L8
and L9, and the final Skeleton will be L10.

[Note: there are 5 Mushrooms in the Graveyard. Two behind a Gravestone, and 3
behind the tree.]

Once all 5 Skeletons are dead, enter the Tomb.

Area 9 (The Skeleton King) - Top

From the Graveyard, enter the Tomb, and walk over to the Coffin. When you get
close enough, a "cut-scene" will begin. As soon as the "cut-scene" ends, the
Skeleton King will begin attacking. Be ready for this, and begin counter
measures.

The Skeleton King is Level 15, and has 2100 Hit Points. He has a powerful
Shield,
and is very good at blocking. On top of this, he is also very quick (much the
same as all the other Skeletons). However... He is very predictable. Stay out of
swinging range, but close enough so that he will try. Circle Strife around him,
and when he does his "3-swing" attack, go in and throw a chop at him. This may
take awhile, but he will die.

When the King dies, pick up the "Kings Shield", and listed to the dialogue that
follows.

Now, go over to the Skeleton Kings coffin, and look for the "Fetish" statuette.
Grab it and then exit back out to the Graveyard.

[Note: The Areas Secret is very close. Ream more info at the bottom of this
page.]

You will find that a wall has opened, allowing you access to a staircase. The
stairs lead to a gate, and a lever. Pull the lever, and exit the gate. When you
do, Skeletons will begin climbing out of the ground, and attacking. The
Skeletons
will be L9 & L10. This can be difficult, so we have a couple "Tricks".

[Trick 1: The Skeletons will not enter the Gate. You can fallback to the stairs,
in an attempt to control the fight]

[Trick 2: Run right past the Skeletons, heading for the Iron Gate. The Skeletons
will not attack you while you are standing under the Iron Gate, but they will
stand next to you. Kill them mercilessly.]

[Trick 3: Run right past the Skeletons, and enter the Tomb (the big one). The
door will close behind you, shutting out the Skeletons.]

However you go about dealing with the Skeletons, once you are finished, enter
the
Large Tomb (the one in the center of the area).

[Note: for max exp, before entering the Tomb, return to the Graveyard Lock (you
will not have access from the Graveyard). There will be 6 more Skeletons there
for you to fight.]

Area 10 (The Tomb) - Top

When you enter the Tomb, the doors will close behind you, and the a door will
shut off access to the "Tomb Oracle". Four Skeletons will break out of hiding
and
attack. The Skeletons are average of L6. When you kill the 4 Skeletons, the door
blocking the Oracle will re-open.

Walk over to the Oracle, and "use" it. You will get a message. Once you have
done
that, go behind the Oracle, and look for the "Fetish Recess". So long as you
have
the "Fetish" from the Skeleton Kings Grave, using the "Fetish Recess" will
activate a staircase, leading up to the upper area of the Tomb.

Locate the Stairs (near the entrance) and go up to the second level. There will
be 4 L9 Skeletons up here. Kill them, and then locate the 2 switches. Pull both
of the switches, and then return to the Oracle.

Behind the Oracle, you should see 2 doors, that are now open. Both doors lead to
the same place, so it doesn't matter which one that you use. Enter one of the
doors, and go down the stairs. You will end in a room, where you can find "Dwarf
Light Armor", and "Knight Light Armor". You may also notice a button on the wall
(that appears to already be pressed). Just beyond this button, there is a
trapped
floor. When you enter the room beyond the button, the floor will slide open,
revealing a spiked pit. To beat this trap, you need to put your weapons away,
and
then run quickly across this room (making a small jump across the seam in the
floor), and entering the next door.

Continue ahead, until you come to a closed gate with a button inside. You have
two options here. If you have an arrow, you can shoot the button to open the
gate. Else, go back down the hallway, looking towards the small archways. One of
them is open, and leads into the sewers. Enter the sewers (where Level 1
Skeletons will attack you), and follow the sewers until you exit into the room
(on the other side of the locked gate).

Once you have entered the Gate Room, prepare for a big fight. It is up to you,
but you may want to save (just in case).

Area 11 (Stone Golem) - Top

After entering the "Gate Room", continue into the next room. A "cut-scene" will
begin. When the "cut-scene" ends, the Stone Golem will attack you.

The Stone Golem is Level 1, with 4000 hit points. He is very slow, but also very
powerful. On top of this, the Stone Golem is capable of both, melee and ranged
attacks. If you are at a distance, the Stone Golem will create a boulder in his
hands, and then throw it at you.

Your best bet is to use a blunt weapon, and to circle strife. Keep circle
strifing around the Golem. Combos will help as well, but try to use one that has
red trails, versus the less damaging yellow trails.

When the Golem dies, a coffin in the center of the room will sink, allowing you
access to the skeletal remains of the Queen. In the hands of the Queen, you will
find the "Queens Sword". Grabbing the sword will complete the area.

[Trick: Just whack him through the "Iron Grates" in the same room! He can't
touch
you, but you sure as hell can touch him!] - Submitted by Morga

Area Secret (Rune) - Top

To locate the Areas "Secret Rune"; After defeating the Skeletal King, look above
his coffin. You should see a Rune Symbol. Shoot this Rune with an arrow, and the
wall will roll back, exposing the secret area.

Carefully follow the stairs down, keeping an eye out for the trap (long hallway
with stairs). It is hard to explain this trap, you just have to see it. You may
want to save before trying.

Anyway, at the hallway of the trap, you may notice small "nitches" in the sides
of the hallway. You will need to run down the stairs, and into the first nitch
on
the right. As the fire pendulum swings past, and then back again, you will need
to quickly run to the second nitch on the left. Wait as the pendulum sings past
again, and run for the 3rd nitch. Finally, as the pendulum swings past, run up
the stairs to exit the trap.

Grab the Rune, and then exit back out the the Kings coffin (the Trap does not
trigger on your way out).

Island of Karum

This area, unlike the ones before, is somewhat simple. Sure... There will be
difficult fights, and confusing hallways, but all in all, this is one of the
easier areas (this far at least).

As with previous areas, I will try to simplify this area by breaking it down
into
smaller sections. When you see "Area 1", it refers to that section of this area.
I find this easiest due to the fact that you will be "looping" through this
area,
going from point [A] to point [B], and then back to point [A] (etc.).

Even with the "smaller sections", this area can still be confusing. It is quite
difficult to give text directions, and with the multi "floors", it is too
difficult to create a map.

With that said, stick with me, and I'll do my best.

[Note: During this walkthrough, I'll post small "Potion" notes to help you
conserve potions as effectively as possible.]

[Potions: During this area, you will find a lot of potions. Do not become
overconfident, and dive into combat mindlessly. The key to this area depends on
how well you can conserver Life Potions. You will want to reach the end of this
area with 1 Full Life Potion, 2 1000 Life Potions, and 1 500 Life Potion. Trust
me on this one...]

[Weapons: During this area, you should get a lot of practice switching between
your different weapons. Remember this... If it has flesh, a bladed weapon is
your
best option. If it is bone... Use a "blunt" weapon (such as a hammer, or a
mace).
Zombies, and Death Knights have flesh, thus, a bladed weapon will work best.
Skeletons are bone, so use a blunt weapon.]

Getting Started (Drawbridge) - Top

As soon as this area begins, you should spot 2 dead Knights on the ground. The
closest one will have a Life Potion (1000), and a Elf Sword (if that interests
you at all). From there, follow the obvious path, crossing the bridge.

The doors will automatically open for you as you near them, and then they will
promptly close behind you (for good) as you pass through. The one exception is
the drawbridge. It is an exception in the fact that it will not be crossable as
soon as you reach it. You will have to wait a couple seconds for it to
completely
lower itself.

Cross the Drawbridge, and enter inside the walls. You are now locked inside...

Area 1 (Iron Key / "Lock") - Top

After entering the walls, the Drawbridge will close behind you. There may be a
Zombie in front of you ready to attack (or he may not be; he has a patrol
route).
Either way, you will need to deal with at least 2 (L7) Zombies at the Drawbridge
area. However, do not go left of the Drawbridge, else you'll be pelted by arrows
from the Archer Skeletons above. Let the Zombies come to you.

Once you have finished off the Zombies, look towards the closed gate just inside
of the Drawbridge. You should notice a Life Potion (Full). I just wanted to
point
it out, as we will be returning for it a bit later.

For now, leave the Drawbridge area by going towards the right. You will have to
fight another (L7) Zombie (unless you have already done so). Continue onward,
until you come to an area where a Skeleton is hanging from a noose. There will
be
another (L7) Zombie here, and a Archer Skeleton up high. Avoid the Archer fire,
by getting under him to fight the Zombie.

Continue forward, where you will have to fight another Zombie, and then a
second,
who is exiting out of a building. Kill both of these Zombies, and then enter
inside the building. You should see a dead Knight, and a Life Potion (50) near
his corpse.

Now... Switch to your blunt weapons, and head up the stairs. Along the way, make
note of the locked door. If you examine the lock, the message says only "Lock".
We will be returning here very shortly...

Continue up the stairs, and step out onto the walls. Here, you will find that
pesky Archer Skeleton. Take him out with a blunt weapon. Continue forward, along
the wall, and enter the next room. You will need to fight another Skeleton in
this room. Once it is dead, check the table for the "Iron Key", and the Knight
Corpse on the floor for a Life Potion (150).

Continue onward, still following the walls, where you will fight another Archer
Skeleton. Be careful with this one, as the Archer Skeletons across the street
will rain arrows if you are in their range. It is safest if you "pull" the
Archer
Skeleton into the room to take care of him.

[Secret: It isn't that large of a secret, but there is a hidden Life Potion (50)
on top of the building (the one that you would "pull" the Archer Skeleton into).
To reach it, you will need to climb on top of the wall, and then climb up on top
of the building. From there, just walk over to the Life Potion and pick it up.]

Now that you have the Iron Key, back-track to that "Lock" we saw earlier (3
paragraphs up). Open the door, and enter inside.

Area 2 (Slayer Sword / Knight Medium Armor) - Top

After using the "Iron Key" to open the "Lock", walk to the stairs, and go up.
When you reach the top of the stairs, you will have to deal with a (L9)
Skeleton.
Cross the wall (obvious path), and enter the room at the other side. You will
have to fight another (L9) Skeleton in this room (unless he was on the wall).
Once he is out of the way, drop down into the room below (use the table to
soften
your fall).

In this room, you should find a "Fire", and 2 levers.

Near the Fire, you can find the "Slayer Sword" (Barbarian).

The lever on the right hand side of the room will open a door, leading to
the "Knights Medium Armor".

The Lever on the left hand side of the room will open a door to continue through
the area.

Area 3 (...and back to Area 1) - Top

After finding the rewarding Barbarian "Slayer Sword", and the "Knight Medium
Armor", it is time to find something cool for the Amazon and the Dwarf... Right?

Ok... From the "Slayer Sword Room", pull the left hand lever to open the doors.
Step outside, and kill the 2 Skeletons. Search the area for a small room, where
a
Life Potion (1000) can be found.

[Potion: I suggest that you leave this potion right where it is. You can carry
only 2 1000 Life Potions, and this potion is very close the the later stages of
this area. You can come back for it then.]

Once you have located the Life Potion, search the area for a boarded up wall,
that has a large "hole" smashed through it. Check the image for a "clearer
picture". [Note: the Screen Shot shows the smashed wall from the opposite side
from where you will be viewing it].

Jump through the "hole" (re-try until you make it through), and follow the
obvious path from there, until you come to a room with 2 Zombies, 3 "Sewer
Drains" and 3 Vases. Kill the 2 Zombies...

[Potion: On the floor, near a corpse, there is another 1000 Life Potion.]

Next, cross the street, and kill the 2 Zombie Knights near the other building.
Step back out into the street, and look for the lowest wall. Climb up this wall,
and jump to the platform that the Skeleton is hanging from. You should remember
this location from "Area 1". (Check the Screen Shot)

Return to the Drawbridge, and go to the left (Well, actually, you'll go
straight.
By "left", I mean the left path from the drawbridge.). Try to dodge all incoming
arrows, and just continue forward, and enter the building at the end.

From inside the building, you will find a hallway to the left, and a set of
stairs. The hallway leads to that Life Potion (Full) that we saw in the
beginning
(Remember? When we first entered the Drawbridge?). Run down there and pick it
up.
You can get a Crust and a piece of Cheese from the boxes as well.

[Potion: You can carry only 1 Full Life Potion at a time. If you already have
one
in your inventory, you will be unable to pick the second one up. Instead, you
will get the generic "You already have too many of that item" message. In this
case, leave the potion behind. You can return for it later, when you need it.]

Exit the hallway, and go up the stairs. At the top, you will need to kill 2
Skeletons (L8 &L9). Once the 2 Skeletons are dead, walk to the end of the wall
that they were on, and look over the edge (looking towards the road, not outside
of the walls). You should see a large (closed) door. Your goal is to drop down
onto the opposite side of this door (Check the screenshot).

Area 4 (Amazon Items, and back to Area 3) - Top

Drop down on the opposite side of the door, and kill the Zombie (while avoiding
Archer fire from above). Enter the building on the left, and kill the 2 Zombies
there. Enter the room on the right, and kill a 4th Zombie. Check the room for a
Life Potion (150), a Crust, and a piece of Cheese. Exit this room and enter the
room directly across from you. You should see a dead Knight, and a Life Potion
(150) near his corpse.

Go up the stairs (remember to switch to your blunt weapon), and kill the 2
(L8-9)
Skeletons. Exit back out of this building the same way that you entered it (as
if
heading back to that large door). When you get to the street, look directly
across, where you should see a door, with a lock. The Iron Key will open this
lock.

Open the lock and enter inside. You will find 3 Zombie Knights. You must kill
all
3 in order for the center area to open up. I suggest that you begin by entering
this room, and then killing the 2 Zombie Knights to your Left. Then coming back
to kill the Zombie Knight on the right. This way, when the center opens up, the
Skeletons inside will not exit on top of you (getting the drop on you).

Kill the 3 Zombie Knights, and the center will open. Inside, you will need to
kill 2 (L8-9) Skeletons. Once they are dead, check the center of the room. On
the
floor, you will find the "Death Bo" (Amazon), and a "Spear". Once you are
through
in this room, locate the lever on the wall. Pull the lever to open the door. The
Door leads back to area 3 (near the 3 Sewer Drains).

[Dwarf Items: Now, I promised Amazon and Dwarf Items didn't I? Read the info
below. The Dwarf Item is along the main path, so I will not put it into it's own
caption.]

Area 5 (Underground) - Top

After exiting from the "Death Bo Room", cross the street and enter the room on
the other side. Notice the 3 "Sewer Drains". (Unless you have already done so,
before you drop into the Sewer Drains, grab the Life Potion (1000) from the
Knight Corpse on the ground).

When you are ready, jump into one of the 3 Sewer Drains, and slide down into
the "Underground" area. Exit out of the water, and look around a bit. If you are
a Dwarf, now is your moment. In the back of the room, you will find a "Great
Hammer".

Exit this room, kill the Zombie Knight, and then follow the obvious path. You
will come to a locked door. The lock reads "Dungeon Lock". Continue straight
ahead (towards the fire), and kill the Zombie. Step outside, and kill 2 more
Zombies.

[Area Secret: The Area Secret is very close by. Read at the bottom of this page
for more info.]

Once the Zombies are dead, look for a Knight corpse, located in the "sunlit"
area
outside. Near the corpse, you can find a Life Potion (500), and a set of stairs
leading downwards (check the Screen Shot).

[Potion: Save this potion. Grab it now, but save it until the end of this area.]

Follow the Stairs down, killing 4 more Zombies. Once the Zombies are dead,
follow
the stairs downward...

[Secret: Go down the stairs, and then keep an eye on the right hand wall. The
first one that looks the slightest bit funny, chop it. You will break through,
finding a small room, which holds a Life Potion (1000) and a "Bracelet". The
Bracelet is under the Potion, so don't miss it. - Thanks to AndySoft for this
secret.]

Continue to follow the obvious path, until you come to a water filled room. When
you enter this room, the door will close behind you, and Zombies will rise from
the floor and attack. The First Zombie is Level 5, and each Zombie thereafter
will increase in Level until the final Level 10 Zombie. Once all of the Zombies
are dead, the gate and the door will re-open. Grab the Dungeon Key from the
stone
in the center of the room, and then exit through the "Gate".

[Note: Do not exit the same way that you entered the room. Check the walls for a
second doorway.]

Go up the stairs, and pull the lever to open the door. Step out into the
street... You should hear "action music", but don't sweat it, as there is no
danger. The music signals the respawn of the Skeletons. Most of area 1, 2, and 3
has now respawned with more Skeletons. You can go back and kill them if you
like,
but that will have to wait until later.

For now, check the Knight Corpses nearby for a Life Potion (150). Continue down
the street until you find a Lever. Pull the Lever to open the door. Enter the
door (cautiously). You should notice that this door reconnects you with
the "Dungeon Lock". As you near the Dungeon Lock, 3 (L7-8) Skeletons will smash
through a wooden wall, and attack. Kill them, and then unlock the Dungeon.

[Trick: to help conserve your hit points, let these Skeletons kill each other,
by
keeping them clumped up. Unless you are sure that you can take them without
taking a lot of damage, they are simply not worth the loss of hit points (and
you
are going to need them).]

Area 6 (The Dungeon) - Top

Enter the Dungeon, and kill the Zombie Knight. Another Zombie Knight will come
out of the room on the right. Try to kill him without entering the room. When
you
do enter the room, a (L4) "Dark Knight" will call you a chicken, and then
attack.
This Dark Knight has a 1000 Life Potion. Don't allow him to drink it (you will
need it).

Dark Knights

-----------------------------------

Dark Knights are rather tough customers. Though they may be lower level then
most
of the competition, the Dark Knights can pack a real punch.

They move in a very skilled manor; side stepping from left to right, and dodging
your blows by jump dodging left and right. They are very skilled at blocking
your
attacks with their shields, and they attack with "Snake Swords". Snake Swords,
as
the name implies, cause Poison damage (much like the Orc Sword, but with more
power).

Counter attack after they swing at you, and keep circling them. If you have a
potion to cure Poison, then diving in and attacking fast, is an option. Just
don't hope for too much until you break their shields off. Once the shields are
off... Chop em to pieces.

[Trick: The Dark Knight will not exit the Dungeon. If you fallback, and exit
through the Dungeon Door, the Dark Knight will stand there and look at you like
an idiot. You can take advantage of this, buy attacking, and then retreating...
Wash... Rinse... Repeat. If the Dark Knight does attack you, retreat, and he
will
return to the door, and continue to stand there.]

After killing the Dark Knight, enter the room that he was in. You will find 2
Prison Cells, each holding 2 Prisoners. Do what you like with the Prisoners;
there is not much else in here.

When you are finished in the Prison, exit back out into the main hallway of the
Dungeon, and take the second doorway on the left (the last one), and go up the
stairs.

The first door that you come to will exit out to the 1000 Life Potion mentioned
in Area 3 (the one by the 2 Skeletons, and the wall with a "hole" in it"). If
you
have room to hold the Potion, go ahead and get it now (else, you can return in a
minute).

Area 7 (The Dark Knights) - Top

From the main hallway of the "Dungeon", take the second doorway, and go up the
stairs. The first door that you come to will return you to Area 3. Continue up
the Staircase to the second doorway. You will see a small bridge, connecting the
Tower with the building across from it. Walk across this small bridge, and pull
the lever on the wall. The door will open, allowing you to enter.

Inside, you will be immediately attacked by 2 (L4&5) Dark Knights. If you rush
in, you can get the drop on the Level 4 Dark Knight, who is inside the door, and
to the left. If you chop him up quickly, he will be dead before the L5 Dark
Knight can get to you. Fighting them one on one is a lot easier then 2 on 1.

[Trick: Step back out of the room, onto the bridge. The Knights will not exit
(well sometimes they will if they are in mid-swing as they cross through the
door. You can stand just outside the door, and chop them to pieces.]

After the Dark Knights are dead, head towards the right. You will fight another
Dark Knight (L6). This one is more skilled then the others, and as an added
bonus, there are 2 Archer Skeletons outside, across from the window. The
Skeletons will not be a problem so long as you stay out of their sights (avoid
the window).

[Trick: Just like the last 2 Dark Knights, this Dark Knight will not exit the
room. Return to the small bridge, and chop away while he stands in the doorway.]

After killing the L6 Dark Knight, search the ground for a Life Potion (Full).
Once you have the potion, continue forward, along the obvious path, and go up
the
stairs. You will enter a room with 2 (L4&5) Dark Knights, a Lever, and an
opening
in the center of the floor. Kill the Dark Knights, and then jump over the
railing
into the opening in the center of the floor.

[Trick: Exit the room the same way that you entered it. You can get the Dark
Knights stuck. Keep backing up until they no longer follow you.]

Area 8 - The Minotaur (Tower Key) - TopThe Minotaur (Tower Key) - Top

When you jump over the railing (the opening in the floor), a Minotaur will enter
the room, and attack you. The Minotaur has the Tower Key, so killing him is a
must.

Being only L1, the Minotaur is slow and clumsy. He can pack a punch, but you
should see each swing coming from "a mile away". When he does swing, circle
around him, or jump dodge to your right. After the Minotaur has finished his
swing, move in a chop him a few times. Read his next attack, and then move out
of
the way again. Repeat until he is dead.

[Weapon: Check the room that the Minotaur came out for the Barbarians "Double
Edge" (axe).]

When the Minotaur dies, the doors will open, and a L5 Dark Knight will run in
and
attack you. This Dark Knight has a Life Potion (150). Exit the room, and go left
(towards the stairs). You will have to fight L6 Dark Knight out here. Once he is
dead, go up the stairs (returning to the room above the Minotaur area).

[Trick: The L5 and L6 Dark Knights will not go past the top of the stairs. Run
past them, allowing them to follow you. Go up the stairs, and step through the
doorway. The Dark Knights will get stuck here, just as the others did at the
Dungeon entrance, and the Tower Entrance before. Doing this can really conserve
your hit points, thus saving your potions.]

Area 9 (The Tower) - Top

After killing the Minotaur, and gaining the "Tower Key", return to the room
above, cross the bridge, and enter the Tower.

[Potions: you must go back through the area, and pick up any remaining Life
Potions that you left behind. Once you enter the Tower, you will be unable to
return to the previous areas.]

When you enter the Tower, a cut-scene will begin. After the cut-scene, you may
notice that you have been "repositioned". You should see a set of stairs to your
right. Anyway, back up some more, and look for a "pathway" on the right (not the
stairs).

Follow this pathway, killing 3 Zombie Knights, and locate a Power Potion. Once
you have the Power Potion, back track just a little, and look for a side door to
exit. Go up the stairs from here, and enter the nest room that you find to your
right. Make another immediate right once you enter the room, and locate
the "Curved Sword" (Knight). Turn around from the sword, and explore the room to
find a Life Potion (1000), and some Meat in a barrel.

Exit the room, and continue up to the top of the stairs (fighting more Zombie
Knights). You will find a Lever on the wall, and a small elevator. Ride the
elevator up to a well lit room, with 3 Skeletons inside. Kill the 3 Skeletons,
and then continue up the stairs.

You will walk through 3 doors, that will close behind you as you pass through
them. In the room after the 3rd door, a "Ghoul" will teleport into the room and
attack.

The Ghoul is not very quick, and does not do a lot of damage with each attack.
However, the Ghoul does have incredible range. He has a mutated "hook-arm" that
he can slash you with, and he can breathe fire. Just go in fighting, and don't
let up until he is dead.

Once the Ghoul is dead, continue onward, following the obvious path, until you
come to a room with a Tapestry. When you near the Tapestry, a cut-scene will
begin, telling you part of the story line. When the cut-scene ends, check under
the Tapestry for a Life Potion (1000). If you can not hold this Life Potion,
then
leave it be (you can return for it).

Before leaving the Tapestry Room, I strongly Suggest that you Save your game.

[SAVE YOUR GAME NOW: You are about to die, and die a lot.]

Area 10 Necromancer ("Vampire") - Top

When you enter the room next to the Tapestry room, the Necromancer will enter
the
room (via a cut-scene), and then attack...

This is by far, one of the toughest "monsters" in the game. The Necromancer (or
as many call him; the "Vampire") has 2 very powerful items. First, his weapon
not
only damages you, but it also heals him (damage returns to him, and heals him).
Next, his Shield not only blocks, but the damage that you do to it will drain
from your health as well, and those hit points will heal the Necromancer. Sounds
nasty don't it? It gets worse...

The Vampire is a very skilled fighter. He will circle against you, always
keeping
you in front of him. His attacks have long range (capable of hitting most,
before
they are close enough to hit him), and are very fast. Not to mention the
healing/draining effect of his weapon...

If you try to put distance between yourself and the Necromancer, he will
teleport
behind you and "sucker punch" you. What makes this so devastating, is that you
loose your "combat lock" whenever he does this. So, while thinking that you
may "circle strife" out of harms way, instead you stand there and turn around in
place (like an idiot). The Necromancer can get in 2 or 3 good shots before you
are able to escape his range.

Finally, once you get the Necromancer below 2000 hit points, he will begin
teleporting much more then normal. This can be frustrating, as it will be
difficult to "lock on" to him, and he will keep trying to "sucker punch" you.

Remember all of those Life Potions that you saved? You are going to need them.
The problem is, he will not give you much of a chance to drink them. When you
try, he will attack, knocking the Potion out of your hands.

I wish I had some "super groovy trick" to help you through this fight, but I
don't. I do have a few "tips", and one useful "trick". The rest is up to you. It
will help if you did as suggested, and horded the Life Potions. Also, be sure to
save your game before the fight, and be ready to reload often. Sometimes,
practice really does make perfect...

When fighting the Necromancer, your first priority should be to knock his shield
off. Do not use normal attacks to do this. Every time that you hit his shield,
he
will counterattack. Using normal attacks will take a long time. Instead, use
a "Primary Weapon Combo" (Red Trails). Hit his shield with a Red Trailed combo
or
two, and you will break it.

Once the Necromancers shield is gone, he will become much more aggressive, and
less defensive. At this point, drink that Power Potion that you found down
stairs, and then begin attacking.

Circle Strife around him, and hit when you find an opening. Normally, just after
he swings at you. You will need to keep your distance a bit, or else he will hit
you with his broad swings. If you can, try to hit him with a combo or two every
now and then.

Just go in swinging. For an example... [With Sargon (the Knight) press and hold
your attack button plus the left or right button... Press the Left button, and
then quickly press the Right button. repeat until you are low on energy. It
helps
if you press forward every now and then to keep you in attack range.] I used
Sargon as an example, because I am most skilled with him. Either way, go in
swinging, and then just keep pounding on him. Don't give him a chance to counter
attack. It helps if you fight him with his back against a wall.

[Trick: This isn't much of a trick, but it is useful. Drinking Life Potions, or
your Power Potion is not very easy when fighting the Necromancer. When you need
to take a drink, lure the Necromancer near one of the doors, and then run
inside,
just around the "lip" of the wall. The Necromancer will try to get to you by
walking through the wall. You should have enough time to drink that Potion, and
then get back to the fighting.]

After the fight with the Necromancer, a short cut-scene will begin, and then the
area is complete... Pat yourself on the back, that was one hell'ova fight.

Area Secret (Rune) - Top

This areas "Secret" isn't a Rune, but it is related. Anyway, remember the Lava
Pit? Check "Area 5 (Underground)" to refresh your memory. Near the Lava Pit, you
will find a Lever. Pull the Lever 1 time to stop the flow of magma. Pull the
Lever a second time to drain the lava out of the pit. It takes awhile for the
lava to drain completely, so watch patiently.

When the Lava has drained, you will find a set of stairs. Follow the stairs
down,
and press the Rune Button on the wall. Enter the door that opens, and follow the
obvious path (don't worry, there are no traps). When you enter the room at the
end, the fires and torches will ignite, lighting up the room.

A cut-scene will take over, explaining the purpose of each of the Runes. After
the cut-scene, look around, to locate a Power Potion. We'll leave it at that for
now.

World Map

After this area is complete, you will have a large decision to make. You will
have a choice of Shalatuwar Fortress, or the Oasis of Nejeb. The choice is up to
you, however, you should consider the following...

Shalatuwar Fortress Fortress of Nemrut
The Gorge of Orlok

-----------------------------------

Oasis of Nejeb Temple of Al Farum
Forge of Xshathea

You will eventually visit all of the areas listed above. The order is what
changes. If you choose Shalatuwar Fortress for example, You will need to visit
both, the Fortress of Nemrut, and the Gorge of Orlok, before you have the option
again to visit the Oasis of Nejeb. After the Oasis of Nejeb, you will have the
option to visit the Temple of Al Farum and the Forge of Xshathea.

Shalatuwar Fortress

Shalatuwar Fortress; Home of the Orcs. This place is crawling with Orcs of all
types. Some large and some small (Goblins). Some with War Hammers, others with
Orc Swords, and even some with bows and arrows. At this point, you may or may
not
be skilled at fighting Orcs, but when you are finished here, you should be an
expert.
I think that this area would be better if there was a good Life Potion near the
beginning. If you managed to bring one along with you, then you should be in
good
shape. If not, you are alright, but will have a more difficult time during the
earlier part of this area. Don't be afraid to save your game after clearing a
section.

Getting Started (Store Lock & Key) - Top

You will begin this area in a small room full of boxes, barrels, and vases.
Inside the boxes, barrels, and vases, you will find 2 pieces of cheese, and 2
crusts. These items will do you no good at the moment, but you can return for
them when you need them.

Exit out of the room, following the obvious path. When you step outside, you
should see an Orc. The Orc will immediately see you, and then run off to lock
the
Store Lock, and to tell the Goblins about you. The 2 (L10&11) Goblins will come
out and attack you, while the (L10) Orc will stand guard at the Store Lock
(unless you get close to him while you are fighting the Goblins).

One of the Goblins has "Travelers Rations". You may want the Rations later, so I
suggest smacking him quickly, before he has a chance to drink it.

Once the 2 Goblins are dead, continue to follow the obvious path, where you will
find the Orc, the Store Room Lock, and more barrels and boxes. Kill the Orc (who
has the "Store Key", and a (50) Life Potion), and then smash open the boxes and
barrels. You should find 2 Crusts (which may be used now if you need them, or
saved until later).

With the Store Key in hand, unlock and open the Store Lock Door.

Area 1 (Orcs / Archers / Boulder Trap) Top

After opening the Store Lock, step outside... You will see another (L9) Orc in
the distance, and when he sees you, he will turn and go around the corner. Up
high (above the Orc), there are 2 Goblin Archers. Both are extremely accurate,
and are very dangerous. Around the corner, and inside of an indent in the wall,
there will be another (L10) Orc.

At this point in the game, you have probably developed a lot of tricks, and your
own fighting style. I will make suggestions for dealing with this area, but you
can do it however you like (whichever way works best for you and your style).
Look below the white text for the suggestions and tricks.

Anyway, from the Store Lock, walk across the area, deal with the 2 Goblin
Archers, the first Orc, and possibly a second Orc (if he hears you). You will
find a deep "pit", and a small room which contains an elevator. If you fall into
the pit, you will die. Use the Elevator to reach the Archer Goblins. Near one of
the Archer Goblins, you will find 2 Quarrels of Arrows (if you need some).

Right after the elevator room, you will see a large ramp sloping upward along
the
Fortress Walls. When you go up this ramp, a Boulder Trap will be triggered. The
Boulder will roll down the ramp, and into the pit. There are several "indents"
in
the Fortress Walls that you can use to dodge the Boulder, or you can dodge it by
running back down the slope, and then step around the corner.

Be careful, as there is another Orc in the first indent in the wall, You may
have
already alerted him, or he may still be hiding there. If you trigger the trap,
and then run back down the slope, this Orc will often follow you down. The
Boulder will roll him over (killing him).

[Suggestion 1: Run from the Store Lock Door, across the area, heading directly
towards the Goblin Archers, and the Orc that you saw. Move left and right to
avoid arrows. Turn left around the corner (where the Orc went to) and enter the
small room (elevator room). The Archers can not shoot you while you are in this
room. The Orc will follow you inside this room to fight you. You can kill him in
here.

Now, ride the Elevator up, and run across the back wall (be careful not to fall
into the pit), and kill that Archer. While fighting him, try to keep him between
you and the other Archer (so that if the other Archer fires an arrow, it will
hit
the Goblin, and not you). Once the first Goblin is dead, run back across the
pit,
and head for the second Goblin. This Goblin is on a small "island", with a tiny
bridge connecting him to the other area. Sometimes, he will cross the bridge to
fight you, and sometimes he will continue to fire his arrows. If this happens,
you will need to cross the bridge to fight him. Once both Archers are dead,
gather up their (50) Life Potions (they both have 1 each).]

[Suggestion 2: From the Store Lock, run up along the left hand wall. Just below
the first Goblin Archer, in the corner and against the wall, you will find
a "Safe Spot", where the Goblins can not shoot you, and the Orcs will not attack
you. Step forward out of the corner, and swing your weapon to attract the Orcs.
When they come for you, fallback into the corner. The Orcs will get directly in
front of you, but they do not attack. You can hack them to pieces mercilessly,
and safely. Once the Orcs are out of the way, you can deal with the Archers, or
just run up the ramp (it's up to you).]

[Suggestion 3: Just run past them all. Run up the ramp, and then back down it
(run up the ramp to trigger the Boulder Trap). Run back down, and out the way
that you came in. The Boulder should run over 2 (or at least 1) Orc. Then, run
up
the ramp, away from the Archer Goblins. This way yields the least exp, but you
conserve more Hit Points.]

Area 2 (Mural/ Barbarian Armor) - Top

Run up the Slope, and turn the corner. Hiding in the first indent on the left,
you will find another (L11) Orc. This one has a Life Potion (150), so kill him
before he can drink it.

[Hint: If you can spare it, leave the 150 Life Potion on the ground. You are
about to fight a goblin who has a Orc Sword (Poison), and in the event that you
get poisoned, you can run back for the 150 Life Potion to cure yourself. If you
don't get Poisoned, you can still return for the healing benefits.]

Continue following the obvious path, until you see a (L10) Goblin. When this
Goblin notices you, he will begin "squealing" which will alert a second (L11)
Goblin. Both Goblins will attack you. One of them has an Orc Sword (Poison).
Kill
both of these Goblins. If you left the 150 Life Potion behind, and if you are
Poisoned, quickly run back to it to cure your Poison.

[Note: If you walk slowly up to the first Goblin, he will notice you from quite
a
distance away. When doing it this way, often, the second Goblin will not come
with him. This is a good way to separate them, so that you can fight them
one-on-
one.]

Continue ahead, and go around the next corner. Begin looking towards the right
hand wall of the Fortress. You should find a wooden door, and a window. The
window is illuminated by the light inside the room. Break the wooden door with
your weapon, and enter inside.

Inside the room, you will find "Barbarian Light Armor", a "Flat Sword"
(Barbarian
Weapon), and the "Mural". To listen to the Mural, find the button in the center
of the wall. Incase you are confused, the Mural is the large picture on the wall
in this room.

Area 3 (Entering the Fortress) - Top

Exit the Mural Room, and go to the right, following the obvious path. When you
near the "corner" of the Fortress Wall, you will fight another (L8) Orc (who is
hiding on the left). Kill him, make the corner, and continue to follow the path
up the stairs.

You will come to an area, where there will be 2 Goblin Archers at the back of
the
area, and an Orc towards the right. When you enter this area, the Goblins will
notice you right away. If you fallback (into the dead-end, not the stairs), the
Goblins will put their bows away, and come for you with a Mace. By doing it this
way, there is a high chance that the Orc will not notice you. You can kill the
two Goblins, and then go in for the Orc. The Orc has a Life Potion (500).

[Note: I suggest that you save the 500 Life Potion (pick it up, but don't use
it). If you are almost dead, then go ahead and use it. The reason I suggest that
you should save it, is because ahead of you there will be Goblins who have Orc
Swords. If you save the Potion until after that fight, you can benefit from the
500 Life, and the Cure Poison effect.]

Enter the Building where the Orc was at. Make note of the gate with the "Iron
Lock" towards the left, and then go to the right. You will find boxes, barrels,
and vases which contain food items (1 Meat & 3 Crusts).

Continue heading towards the right, and go around the corner. Make note of the
gate with the "Dungeon Lock" on your right, and then continue on ahead. You
should find more barrels and vases that contain food items (1 Meat & 2 Cheese).

Again... Continue ahead, where you will find a new pathway on your right
(opposite from the dinner table). There will be a Cow Skull (or some sort of
Farm
Animal) hanging on the wall at the "mouth" of this new path. Enter this path
(hallway) and follow it down until a small "knee-high" stone, blocks your path.
Climb over this small stone.

Area 4 (Iron Key / Amazon Light Armor) - Top

When you climb over the small stone, you will notice more barrels and vases on
the right hand side of the room. You will not be able to see him yet, but just
ahead of you (hiding behind one of the pillars) there is a (L11) Goblin (who has
an Orc Sword). When you alert him, he will sound the alarm, calling another
(L11)
Goblin to assist him. Both Goblins have an Orc Sword. After killing them both,
drink that 500 Life Potion that you picked up earlier (to cure your Poison, and
to recover hit points).

Break the vases and barrels in this room to find 1 Meat, 2 Crusts, and 1 Cheese.

From here, go to the end of the room, turn the corner, and go up the stairs. at
the top of the stairs, you will see two directions to go. You can continue
straight ahead, where there is a hole in the floor, or you can go towards the
right.

The path with the Hole in the floor, contains a piece of Meat, and the Amazon
Light Armor. To get to it, you will need to either, 1. make a Long Jump (put
your
weapons away), or 2. walk carefully around the sides of the hole. Break the
barrels to uncover the stashed Amazon Light Armor, and to find the piece of
Meat.
Re-cross over the hole and take the path to the left (it was towards the right
when we walked up the stairs).

Follow the path, breaking the vases on the left, as you come to them. The first
pair will be empty, and the second pair will have a Crust. At the corner, you
can
find 3 Spears, a bundle of Arrows, and a Scythe. When you turn the corner, you
will find a (L11) Orc, who has a Life Potion (1000) and the "Iron Key". Kill
him,
recovering the Iron Key and the Life Potion, and then return to the "Iron Lock"
that we passed when we first entered the Fortress.

Area 5 (Iron Lock) - Top

Unlock and enter the Iron Lock. Go up the stairs/ramp, and enter the room at
the top. A cut-scene will begin... After the cut-scene, you will first need to
fight 2 Goblins (L 13 & 14) to attack (the L13 has an Orc Sword).

After fighting the 2 Goblins, you will need to fight a (L6 Minotaur). The
Minotaur is slow, but has learned a few new attacks from the one that you fought
before. Keep circling, staying out from in front of him.

After the Minotaur, you will need to fight the Orc who has been ordering all of
these attacks. The Orc has a Life Potion (150), the "Dungeon Key", and a
Barbarian Shield (unless you crack it off of him).

Once all of the fighting is over, enter the Minotaur room to locate a Trident
(Amazon), and then enter the room that the Orc came out of. You should find a
switch on the pillar. Pulling the switch will open the gates.

Before you exit... Go to the back corner of the Orcs room, and climb up the
stones. You will end up on the ledge where the Orc was standing during the cut-
scene. You will find a small building, which contains a "Scimitar" (Knight) and
a
Power Potion.

While on the ledge, locate the small "rooftop" that is low enough for you to
climb on top of. It is leading to the right most bell tower. Cross the roof, and
carefully cross the bell tower (don't fall into the hole), and check the outside
edge. You will find a Life Potion (Full).

With the exploring done, return to the Minotaur room, and then turn around. You
will see that the gate is open (if you pulled the lever). Follow that ramp down
(this is not the same one that you used to get up to this area). At the bottom,
you will find a lever and a gate. Pull the lever, and return to the "dinning
room". You will fight 2 more Goblins...

Once the Goblins are dead, locate the Dungeon Lock.

Area 6 (Dungeon) - Top

With the Dungeon Key, return to the Dungeon Lock. When you open the gate, 3
Goblins and an Orc will hear the sound. They will all head up stairs to attack
you (2 Goblins will come first). Kill them all, and then go down the stairs. The
third Goblin will have a Life Potion (50) that may be useful for curing any
Poison.

[Trick: Before opening the Dungeon Gate, chop at it a couple of times. The sound
will alert the Goblins and the Orc. They will come up, and try to attack you
through the Gate. You can attack them, or you can allow them kill each other.
The
Amazon and the Barbarian should be able to reach through the Gate with ease. If
you are going to let them kill each other, then remember to side step back and
forth, so that they will actually hit each other, instead of just the Gate.]

Near the bottom of the stairs, you will need to fight 2 more Goblins (that is a
total of 5 Goblins, including the 3 from before). Kill them, and then continue
to
the bottom. Towards the left, you will see a "Cells Lock", and a path heading to
the left.

Take the path to the left... The next room that you enter will have 2 Goblins.
Kill them, and continue forward. You will go down a small set of stairs, where
you'll find a big door, and a Lever. Pull the Lever to open the door. Just
inside
of the door, there will be a (L9) Orc, who had a Great Hammer and a Barbarian
Shield. There is also a "Curved Sword" leaning on the wall. Kill this Orc, and
then step further into the room.

Another Orc will attack from the center of the area. Kill this Orc, and move
towards the back of the room. At this point, a Orc, and an Ogre will come out
and
attack. The Ogre is quite easy to deal with. Just stay to his side.

The Ogre drops the "Cells Key". Once you have the Key, locate the "Cells Lock"
in
the back of the room.

Area 7 (Cells) - Top

After gaining the "Cells Key", open the "Cells Lock" in the back of the room.
Exit back out to the staircase, where a (L9) Orc will attack you.

[Note: after killing the Orc, if you go up the stairs, you will find
another "Cells Lock" Open this Cells Lock, and enter the room to find the
Amazons "Cross Tipped Spear". Thanks to AndySoft for this info.]

Kill the Orc, and then cross directly across the room, and open the
second "Cells Lock". Enter inside and check the Prison Cells to the right.
Between the first and second Cells (on the inside), you can locate a Life Potion
(1000). In the third Cell, you will find an injured Knight.

Speak with the injured Knight, and then kill the Orc who enters the room. The
Orc
has the "Key".

On the left side of the Prison Cell Room, you will find stairs, leading
downward.
Take the stairs, where you'll fight 2 more Orcs. Kill the Orcs, and use the
"Key"
on the "Lock".

Follow the hallway down, where you will find an elevator and a Lever. Pull the
Lever and ride the elevator up. This ends the area.

World Map - Top

After this area, you will have 2 choices of locations on the World Map. You can
go to "The Gorge of Orlok" or the "Fortress of Nemrut". The choice is up to you.

Oasis of Nejeb

The Oasis of Nejeb can be somewhat confusing. It is one of the "larger" areas in
the game, and has many "splitting" pathways. We will list each area with a
number, and a small description. Often, when re-crossing through an area, we
will
mention an area from earlier, by using its area number.

[Note: If you are playing through this area after playing through the Shalatuwar
Fortress area, the enemies will have changed slightly in level.]

Getting Started (Entering the Oasis of Nejeb) - Top

You will begin this area in a small room, looking into a much larger one. In the
larger room, you may see 2 (L10) Goblins on patrol, past a small pond. The
Goblins will not notice you, unless you swing your weapon, or enter the larger
room.

Well, that is what you want to do. Enter the room, and kill the 2 Goblins. Once
dead, go the the back of the room, where you should notice a path to the left
and
a path to the right. Take the path to the left. You will need to fight another
Goblin.. All three of the Goblins have Travelers Rations.

Continue to explore the left hand pathway, where you will find 2 rooms with
Vases, Barrels, and a Chest. All in all, you should find 1 Crust, 2 Cheese, a
Life Potion (150), and a Heavy Mace.

Return to the "Small Pond Room", and take the right hand pathway. You will find
a
side room on the right side of the path. Inside, you will find vases and
barrels.
Inside the vases and barrels, you will find 1 Crust, and 1 Meat.

Continue on, until you come to a water filled room.

Area 1 - Top

When you reach the "Water Filled Room", locate and go up the stairs. At the top,
you'll find a Goblin Archer, in a small room. Run over and kill him before he
notices you. Once he is dead, take a look out of the two windows in this room,
and notice the 2 (L2) Goblin Archers. Take them out from inside of this room.
There is a Quiver of Arrows on the floor if you need some.

The noise that the 2 Goblin Archers makes, will normally alert the 2 Goblins and
the Orc who are down stairs. Be ready for them to come and attack. If they do
not, then you can go down to get them.

From the Room where you killed the Goblin Archers, step out, and go down the
staircase. Along the way, or at the bottom, you will fight 2 (L9&10) Goblins,
and
a (L8) Orc (as mentioned above). The (L9) Goblin has a Life Potion (150).

At the bottom of the steps, you will see a deep (small) octagon shaped hole.
Don't get into this hole or anything, just make note of it (landmark). Opposite
of the staircase, you will see a path, and a few barrels. Inside one of the
barrels, you will find a piece of Cheese.

Just past the barrels, you will find another path leading off to your right. To
the left, you will find the "Golem Lock", and straight ahead, you will find a
small empty room. I make note of all of these details, because it seams that
many
people will later forget about this area.

Anyway, take the path to the right (going away from the Golem Lock), and then
enter the first room on the left. Inside, you will find a Long Sword
(Barbarian).
Just past this room, you will find 2 (L8&9) Goblins. The (L8) Goblin has a Life
Potion (150).

Where the 2 Goblins were located, you will find a bright, open area, and another
building, which has a few "arch" shaped entryways.

Area 2 - Top

Enter the Arch Shaped entryway (entering the building). Follow the path, until
you come to a wall blocking your progress. You will need to climb up and over
this wall. On the other side of the wall, you will fight a (L10) Orc (who is
actually outside, but may hear the noise and come in for you).

At this point, you will find 2 paths that you can take. One directly in front of
you, leading outside (where the Orc was at), and one to your right, leading down
a set of stairs. Do not take the path to the right. There is a trap in that
area,
and you will not be able to get past it at this point.

Go directly forward, outside, and shoot the 2 (L3) Goblin Archers (they are up
high, on the walls). In the center of this area, there will be a large "Square"
shaped hole, and another door across from it.

Cross the area, and enter the door on the other side. The vases on the right
(when you enter the door) will have a piece of Cheese inside. There is also a
(L10) Goblin (who has an Orc Sword) on patrol in this hallway.

Follow the hallway, and make the corner (going right). The barrels on the right
will have a Crust inside. Go up the stairs, where you will fight a (L10) Orc.
Then, pull the Lever, which will open a Gate, that returns to the Flooded room
in
Area 2.

Area 3 - Top

Now... Although you opened the Lever gate, which returns to Area 1, do not enter
that Gate (unless you want to go back for left over health items). Instead, turn
left from the Gate, where you will fight a (L9) Orc, near the "Atysi Lock".
Enter
the room where the Orc was at, and look for the "chipped" pillar. You should see
a Life Potion (1000) behind this pillar. Chop the Pillar with your weapon to
create a path. Grab the Life Potion, and then chop the other chipped pillar.

Step out of the chipped pillar room and into an "outdoor" area. There will be a
Lever on the wall, and a door. When you pull the Lever, the door will open,
allowing you access to a "Water Filled Room". In the center of the room, you
will
see a "Big Sword" (Barbarian) standing upright. When you enter the room, you may
feel the ground shake a little. At that point, a (L5) Stone Golem will attack.
The Stone Golem has the "Golem Key".

[Stone Golem Tips: Fallback to the open area outside. Keep circling him until he
attacks. At that point, counter attack from the side. Blunt weapons work the
best
against the Golem, so try not to use your bladed weapons.]

Inside the Water Filled Room, you will find the "Big Sword" in the center of the
water. You will also find a small room, and 2 Gates with Levers. In the small
room, you'll find a Full Life Potion inside of the Chest.

For the Gates and the Levers, one Gate is rather small, while the other is
medium
sized. The Small Gate returns you near to the "Pond Room" at the very beginning,
while the Medium Gate returns you to the stairs, near the small Octagon Shaped
Hole (as mentioned during Area 1 above).

Use the Medium Gate, returning to the stairs, and going down. Enter the pathway,
and locate the "Golem Lock" on the left side.

Area 4 - Top

Unlock, open, and enter the Golem Lock. Go down the stairs, where you will fight
3 (L10) Goblins, and a (L7) Orc. The Orc has a Life Potion (150), and 2 of the 3
Goblins will have a Life Potion (50). At the bottom of the steps, you will find
barrels, which contain 1 Crust, 1 Cheese, and 1 Meat.

Continue forward, crossing a room which has square designs on the floor, and go
up the stairs at the other side. You will come to another "Flooded Room", which
has a Gate, a Lever (to open the Gate), and the "Jara Key".

Grab the Jara Key, pull the Lever, and exit through the Gate. You will come to a
room with 6 (L13) Zombies. Once the Zombies are dead, take a moment to look
around. There is a path, still submerged in water (straight ahead), and another
path, which has steps leading to dry land (towards the left). Take the path that
is submerged in the water.

You will come to a set of steps, leading up to a room. Along the way, a
cut-scene
should begin, showing the Gas Trapped Room ahead. Enter the "Gas Trapped Room",
and grab the "Atysi Key" from the stone. When you do, the doors will lock, and a
toxic gas will begin to fill the room. Walk over to the Jara Lock on the wall...
Open it, and escape the fumes.

[Game Bug: There is a Game Bug here. If you jump towards the Lock, or run to it,
you will often get "stuck" in the wall. There is nothing that you can do once
you
are stuck. You will choke and die. To avoid this, try not to "bump" into the
Jara
Lock.]

At this point, you need to go up the stairs, but first, go down the stairs and
break the vases and barrels. You will find 1 Meat, 1 Crust, and 1 Cheese. Once
these food items have been found, go back up the stairs, and return to the Atysi
Lock (It was located near the Golem and the "Big Sword" in Area 3.

Area 5 - Top

Open and enter the Atysi Locked Door. You'll enter a room with a set of stairs
on
each side. The left stairs will have 3 Goblins, and the right stairs will have a
Orc. All of these enemies are within listening range, and may come down if you
make too much noise. Anyway, begin by going up the right hand set of stairs (the
one with the Orc). Kill the (L9) Orc for a Life Potion (1000) (unless he drinks
it).

[Areas Secret: The Areas Secret is very close by. If you miss it now, you will
be
unable to return for it. However, you can visit near the secret, and then back
track to get all of the exp and items. More info at the bottom of this page.]

Go back down to the main room, and take the left hand set of stairs. You will
fight 3 Goblins (1 L10 & 2 L11). One of the L11 Goblins will drop a Life Potion
(Full), if you can kill him before he drinks it.

Continue to follow the stairs down, where you will see a "huge door" (you may
have already opened this door). On the right hand wall in this area, you should
spot a "chipped pillar". Break through the pillar, and carefully walk over to
the
room on the other side of the canyon. Inside, you'll find a Power Potion. Exit
this room, and crawl back through the chipped pillar path.

While looking at the "huge door", turn to your right, and look for 3 boxes.
Behind the boxes, you'll find a breakable wall. Break the boxes, and the wall,
and enter through the newly discovered pathway.

Area 6 - Top

After breaking through the wall, go down the stairs, where you will fight a (L8)
Skeleton. After killing the Skeleton, you should notice a room with 3 small
walkways splitting into 3 different directions. You'll want to take the middle
pathway.

Submitted: I found a room in this area, which I could not reach. I requested
other readers to send in information about the missing area. I will add in what
was sent in, giving credit to all of those who contributed.
When you come to the room, where the 3 paths curve around, take the middle path
as far as you can, and then look down for a small ledge. You can drop down to
this ledge, where you will fight another Skeleton. When you kill the Skeleton,
the floor will rise and lift you up to the area near the Big Door. You can then
pull the Lever on the wall to open the Big Door, and then access the Dagesse
Sword. You can then loop around, picking up where the walkthrough continues
below.

Thanks to : Nenya, Byron, Ringmaster, and Ron for the corrections to this area.

When you step outside, you can go to the left or the right. To the left, you'll
dead end into an elevator that is un-useable at this time. To the right, you'll
dead end into a cliff. However, if you look down from this cliff, you will see
another pathway below. Drop down to that pathway, and kill the (L10) Skeleton.

Follow the pathway, until you come to another ledge. Again, look down from the
ledge, and you'll see another pathway below it. Don't jump this time... Instead,
back up a little (about mid-way along this pathway), and look over the side. You
should see a couple ledges below, and a Skeleton. You will want to drop down to
each of these ledges, fighting the Skeleton, and then dropping down to two more
ledges.

[Note: Do not try to skip any ledges. Drop to each one in order. This area
seams "more sensitive" to falling then most areas. If you try to skip ledges,
you
will switch to the falling animation, and need to reload.]

At the bottom of the ledges, you will find a small tunnel, partially blocked by
barrels. Break the barrels out of your way, and continue forward. You will come
to a Lever and a Gate. The Gate will automatically open as you near it. REMEMBER
THIS LEVER! Make note of the Lever on the wall, and then exit through the Gate.
Directly across the bridge, you will see a (L6) Minotaur, and possibly a (L10)
skeleton.

Kill the Minotaur, and the Skeleton. After that has been done, enter the room
where the Minotaur was at. You will find another Lever here, but just ignore it.
That Lever takes you back up to the "un-useable elevator" mentioned earlier.
Anyway, from this room, you will see a pathway leading up towards the right.
This
pathway will lead you into a room with a fire, a Life Potion (1000), and an
Eclipse Axe (Barbarian). This room will continue upwards, but that path dead
ends
(into the pathway, where we dropped down all of the ledges, killing that
Skeleton, and breaking the barrels which were blocking the path).

Return now to the Lever near the Gate that opened automatically. Look two
paragraphs up (look for the bold "REMEMBER THIS LEVER!" text). Return to that
Lever, and then give it a tug. The floor will raise (it's an elevator), lifting
you to the top of the "tower". Step off of the elevator, and walk over to the
next Lever. Again, the floor will raise, taking you to a large room.

Area 7 - Top

Step off of the Elevator, into the large room. You will see a stone plate, which
is being illuminated by a mysterious light. If you step on the stone, another
stone will illuminate, as if "calling" you over to step on it as well. Follow
that instinct, stepping on stone after stone, until you have stepped on all 6.
Remember the order that you stepped on each of the stones.

When you step on the sixth stone, a ball of blue light will appear, and then out
of the light, drops the "Lem Key". Very close to where the Lem Key dropped, you
should see a large Door, and the "Lem Lock".

When you open the Lem Lock, the Large Door will open, and out steps a (L5) Stone
Golem. You may want to prepare yourself for this one, because the Golem will
come
out swinging. When you kill the Golem, all 6 of the "illumination stones" will
light up again.

You will need to step on all 6 of the illuminated stones again, and you must do
it in order. If you mess up, then all of the stones will reset, and you'll need
to start all over again. If you can not remember the order that you stepped on
them, then check the screenshot to the right. The stones are numbered in the
order that you need to step on them.

After stepping on the stones in the correct order, the door behind where the
Stone Golem was located will open, allowing you access to a new room.

Just incase you are wondering... The two staircases in this room are closed off
with a gate. You will not have access until later.

Area 8 - Top

After stepping on all 6 illuminated stones in the correct order, and opening the
door behind where the Stone Golem was located, enter that door, into a new area.

In the center of the room, there will be a cylinder shaped stone, with light
shinning on it from a hole in the ceiling. Around the cylinder, there is a
deep "do-nut" shaped hole. If you look into this hole, you should see a couple
ledges below, going in a spiral. Circle the cylinder and find the highest ledge.
Walk onto this ledge, and then jump down to each ledge below it (in order),
until
you reach the bottom.

[Note: these jumps are very difficult. Plus, if you skip a ledge, it is highly
likely that you will "fall to your death". When jumping down to a ledge below,
it
is easiest if you stand next to the cylinder on one ledge, and jump for the
outer
rim side of the ledge below. You should hit the wall, and then slowly "slide" to
the ledge that you were aiming for. This may make more sense after you have
tried
a few times.]

Area 9 - Top

When you reach the bottom, circle the cylinder again, until you locate the
doorway. Just inside of the doorway, you'll encounter a (L6) Minotaur. You may
want to run into the doorway, and then turn and fight the Mino. It is not a
great
idea to fight on the small walkway around the cylinder.

Continue past where you fought the Minotaur, and to the left, you'll find a
fire.
Near the Fire, you will find a Life Potion (500), a Quiver of Arrows, a
Naginata,
and a "Double Mace" (Dwarf I believe). Beyond the fire, you should see a small
doorway carved into the mountain side.

Enter the doorway, and follow the path until you come to a ledge. You will need
to put your weapons away, and make a running jump to jump over to the pathway on
the other side. When you cross, follow the path a little further ahead, where
you
will fight 2 (L10) skeletons. After the Skeletons, continue on, where you will
come to a bridge, and a (L7) Stone Golem.

Area 10 - Top

After killing the (L7) Stone Golem, cross the bridge, heading for the Huge Door
on the other side. When you near the door, it will automatically open on it's
own. However, do not enter just yet. If you look to the left of the Huge Door,
you will see a small pathway, leading around the side of the door. Jump over to
this pathway, and follow it around. You will have to fight 3 (L10&L11)
Skeletons,
and then you will find a fire. Near the Fire, you will find a Life Potion
(Full),
a Combat Sword, and the "Steel Feather" (Amazon Special).

Return to the Huge Door, and enter inside. The door will close behind you, and 4
(L11&L12) Skeletons will attack. Each of the Skeletons will be using a "Wall
shield" and a Curved Sword (very deadly).

[Trick: If you circle the group of Skeletons, keeping them clumped up, they will
injure and/or kill kill each other. This is useful in thinning the ranks, or
softening up the Skeletons before diving in.]

After killing all of the Skeletons, locate the "Gravestone". Step into the
center of the Gravestone, and then press your "use" button. A story will begin,
and after, you will be attacked by the Necromancer (a.k.a. Vampire (yeah... the
same guy...)).

When you kill the Necromancer, the area is complete, and you will return to the
world map. From the World Map, you will have the choice of:

The Temple of Al Farum

The Forge of Xshathra

Area Secret (Part 1) - Top

The Rune Secret Area in the Oasis of Nejeb is a bit trickier then others. You
will "skip" part of the area if you go directly for the secret. Below, we will
list that option, as well as the option to back track for the most exp.

After opening the Atysi Lock, and entering the room with 2 stairs on each side
of
the room. Go up the stairs to the right (the Orc Side). At the top of the
stairs,
you will see 2 closed gates, blocking you from reaching what is beyond. The Gate
on the left is blocking you from a Dagesse Sword (Knight), and a Quiver of
arrows. The path on the right is blocking you from a Lever, which will open the
Big Door below.

To get around these Gates, you will need to make a "running jump" diagonally
across to each side. Once you pull the Lever, the big door will open, allowing
you to cross a bridge.

Submitted: Just below the Big Door in this area, to the right, you will find 3
boxes, and a breakable wall. Break through the wall, and follow the path down
until you come to the room where the 3 paths curve around. Take the middle path
as far as you can, and then look down for a small ledge.

Cross the bridge, and enter the room on the other side. Here, you will need to
kill 3 Skeletons. After killing the Skeletons, look up for the Rune Button. You
will need to shoot the Rune Button with your bow and arrow to open the Rune
Room.

Skipping area 6 & Area 7: If you do not care to go back for exp, then enter the
Rune Room now, and then pick up reading from Area 9.

Going Back for Area 6 and Area 7: If you want to go back for Items, and Exp,
then
open the 2 Lever locked Gates on the sides of the room (do not enter the Rune
Room). After opening both of the Lever Gates, back track across the bridge, and
back through the Big Door that you opened with a Lever. Read Area 6 and Area 7,
and then use the Lever Locked Gates to return to the Rune Room.

Area Secret (Part 2 - The Rune Room) - Top

When you enter the Rune Room, you will see a Quiver and a Bow on the floor. If
you need arrows, pick up the Quiver. Before you step into the illuminated center
of the room, pull out your box, and be ready to fire at the 4 squares on the
sides of the room. When you step into the center of the room, 2 stone faces will
open up, and their eyes will begin to glow blue. You have only a couple of
seconds to shoot all 4 of the buttons, before the eyes fire at you, killing you
instantly.

When you shoot all 4 Buttons, the bridge will extend, allowing you to cross over
to the Rune. Once you have the Rune, pull the Lever, riding the elevator down to
Area 9.

Temple of Al Farum

Let me begin by saying that this is one of my (personal) favorite areas. There
isn't really anything new... You will fight the same monsters that you have been
fighting, except they may be a little higher in level. However, the layout is
simply beautiful, and the area is just good old fashion fun...

I am often reminded of the "Indiana Jones" movies while playing through this
area. No, there are no Boulder Traps, but the sandy textures used, the detail of
the Tomb, and even some of the traps, all bring the memories back.

Anyway, we have created a simple map of the area. It is rather ugly, but it does
show the basics. There is a lot more to this area, then what is shown on the
map.
The map shows only the "main" areas. Enjoy...

With this said... On with the Walkthrough.

Getting Started (Pyramid) - Top

This area begins a bit more interesting then the others. Your Torch will
be "still lit" from the cut-scene, and then quickly flickers out. Left in the
dark, with only memories of the glyphs on the walls, or how the room appeared,
your only guidance is the light shinning through the un-explored doorway.

As you exit the dark, stepping out into the bright of day, you are treated to
the
beauty of landscape. Positioned on the rim of a mountain path, overlooking the
edge, you can see the mountains far in the distance. Though the sights may
appear
beautiful, it is sudden death if your foot should slip; if you were to fall from
the safely of the mountain rim.

Turning around, viewing the dark room that was exited from, you will notice that
it bares a striking resemblance to the ancient "Aztec" or "Mayan" Pyramids of
old. Take in the details, and the beauty of it all. Then, prepare thyself to
shed
blood.

[Pause: I normally do not get so "worked up" over the areas, but this one is
just
so incredible, that such descriptions seamed appropriate.]

From the Pyramid, follow the mountain path, until you enter a cave. As you enter
the cave, two (L10 & 11) Goblins will attack. Each will have Travelers Rations,
which you can confiscate, if you can kill them before they use the Rations
themselves.

Exit the cave, and take a moment to look across the canyon, to view the Temple
of
Al Farum. It is directly across from the cave. As you peer over, 2 Goblins may
exit the Temple, and begin to charge towards you. One of these Goblins is a pure
Melee fighter (and carries another Travelers Rations"), while the other can opt
between melee, or Archery. When using arrows, the Goblin will fire "Poison
tipped
Arrows" at you.

[Trick: If you stay out of melee range, the Archer Goblin will find an endless
stream of arrows at you. If you dodge swiftly, you can "horde" these Poisoned
Arrows, until you have a full quiver. If you saved any of the Travelers Rations,
you can cure any Poison damage that you may have sustained while collecting the
Poison tipped Arrows.]

Kill these two Goblins, and then enter into the Temple of Al Farum...

Area 1 (Temple Entrance) - Top

When you enter the Temple of Al Farum, a Goblin and an (L11) Orc will attack you
from 2 different sides. After defeating them, you will notice that you can go in
either direction, left or right. It doesn't really matter, as both directions
circle to the same area. However, you may want to explore both paths, and if you
are good with the Bow, you may want to do a little "sharp-shooting".

At both paths, there will be 2 Goblin archers on the upper level. If you are
skilled at all with the bow, I strongly suggest that you take them out now.

[Trick: If you stand at the back wall, furthest away from the Archer on either
side, you will be out of their range of fire. You can then pelt them with ease.
If you run out of arrows, step into the Goblins firing range, run around like
crazy, and then collect the Arrows.]

In the rooms that the Goblin Archers are/were on top of, you will find a path
exiting out to the area beyond, and a door leading into a small room. In each
room, you will find one of two Sacred elements, Fire or Water.

Area 2 (The Oracles) - Top

Once you have discovered the location of both elements (Fire and Water), take
the
path leading to the area past the entrance. It is a wide open area, initially
guarded by two more Goblins. After killing the Goblins, go over and "use" the
Door Oracle stone. You will get a small clue as for the goal of the area is.

To the left and to the right of the Door Oracle, you will find a path (2 paths
in
total). The path to the left leads to a Goblin, and to the Fire Oracle. The
Goblin has a Life Potion (500). The path to the right of the Door Oracle, leads
to an Orc, and the Water Oracle. The Orc has a Life Potion (1000).

You should goal yourself on saving both of these Life Potions. Anyway, "use"
both
the Fire and the Water Oracles for a little more info or clues. After reading
(or
listening to) the Oracles, take a moment to locate the Fire and Water Alter(s)
next to each Oracle.

Area 3 (Torch and Empty Bottle) - Top

Once you have located the Water and the Fire Oracles, you can do the "round-up"
anyway that you like. I will take the most direct path, and the path that I
believe is the easiest to follow, and to understand...

Begin at the Fire Oracle (the one that had the Goblin guarding it). Just beyond
the Fire Oracle, you will find a deep "River". To the left of the rivers edge,
you should see a Goblin Archer. There are stairs to the right, but forget about
the stairs for now. Instead, jump over towards the Goblin on the left. You can
try jumping diagonally, but it is safer if you walk along the lip of the
opposite
building, and then jump straight across. To more easily describe this little
area
on the opposite side of the river, we will be calling it "the path opposite of
the river" (easy enough?..).

Kill the Goblin, and then search the corner of the area for a box of Torches. If
you manage the Torch correctly, you will need only one.

You can at this point, go back to the Sacred Fire, light the Torch, and then
light the Fire Alter. If you do, be sure that you do not set the Torch down, or
deviate after lighting the Torch. Light the Torch, and then head directly for
the
Fire Alter.

However, to prevent the endless back and forth that goes on, I'd suggest that
you
just throw the Torch from this area, back across the river, towards the Fire
Alter. This way, the Torch is over in that area, and we can continue.

Either way, at this point, you will want to return to the area where the Torches
were located (The path opposite of the river). You can find a "secret room" if
you smash on the wall. Look up and notice the "bird emblems" above each wall.
The
second "bird emblem" is where the secret wall is located. Just smash away until
you find it. Inside, you will find a Life Potion (1000).

Continue down to the corner on the "path opposite of the river", where you will
find a few vases. You can find a "Crust" in one of the Vases. Turn the corner,
were you should spot another Goblin Archer at the other side. Run down and kill
him, before he can shoot at you (he is looking in a different direction, so you
can run right up on him).

The Goblin stood before a Gate, which you currently can not open. If you torn
towards your right (if you are looking at the gate), you will see more of the
area from before. Jump across the river to reach this area, and then enter the
first room on the right.

[Note: You may attract 2 Orcs when trying to enter this room, or you may not.
Either way, the 2 Orcs will be covered in a minute (when we return from the
mentioned room).]

Enter the first room on the right, and go down the stairs. You will find a Crust
in a barrel, and a Combat Axe on the floor. Now, go back up the stairs, passing
up the door you used when you entered, and going up to the second floor. Here,
you will fight another Goblin Archer, who has a Life Potion (500). Cross over
the
small bridge, and enter the room on the other side. In this room, you will find
a
Life Potion (500) and a Quiver of Arrows. Once that is done, go back down the
stairs, and exit back out the door that you entered.

When you exit, you will need to follow the dirt street in a clock-wise direction
(go left). You will also need to fight 2 (L11 & L12) Orcs. The L12 Orc has a
Life
Potion (1000). After killing both of the Orcs, continue down the street and
enter
the room on the left (at the corner). Inside, on a small stone, you will find
an "Empty Bottle".

At this point, you will want to fill the Empty Bottle full of water from the
pool
of Sacred Water, and then pour it into the Water Alter. If you haven't done so,
you will also want to light the Torch on the Sacred Fire, and then light the
Fire
Alter.

[Note: this completes the "required" tasks that need to be done near the river.
However, there are more rewarding items, and even the Areas Secret still in the
River area. I bring this up now, because it is actually a bit easier if you save
poring the Bottle of Water, until after you have done Area 4 (below).]

Area 4 (Extra Areas) - Top

Once you have the Water Bottle, or if you are returning from filling/pouring the
Water Bottle, go up the stairs (up the stairs from the room which had the Water
Bottle), and kill the Goblin Archer that is at the top. Follow the path over to
the building on the other side. Pull yourself up, and then drop into the hole in
the roof.

You will fall into a room, which contains a Life Potion (500), and a Lever. Pull
the Lever to open a door to exit the room. You will return to the streets, very
near the "Water Bottle Room".

Now, re-enter the Water Bottle Room, going back up the stairs, and crossing back
over to the building which has the hole in the roof. This time, instead of
dropping into the hole, you will want to drop down, across the river, and into
the small area that was blocked by gates earlier. Check the screenshot, as both
are shown (the hole in the roof, and the area where you will want to drop down
to).

After dropping down, go ahead and pull the Levers to open both gates, and then
notice the third path leading away from the gates. We will return to that area,
so just remember where it is. For now, once you land from dropping down, you
will
need to deal with the Goblin to the right, on the other side of that gate.

Follow the path down, making the corner, and killing the Goblin at the end
of "the path opposite of the river". With the Goblin dead, turn around, as if
heading back to the Gates from a second ago. As you walk, chop on the walls.
There are 2 Secret Walls here, before the corner. Both walls have a bit more
strength then normal fake walls, as you will normally need to attack the wall 3
or more times before it will collapse. Behind one of the fake walls, you will
find a Power Potion, and behind the other, you will find an "Amulet".

Now, return to the gates, and enter the third path that I mentioned a minute
ago.
In this room, you will find a "Great Mace" (Knight) in the center of the floor,
and you will find a (L9) Stone Golem. Kill the Golem, and then search the boxes
in the back of the room for another Crust.

[Areas Secret: The Areas Secret is very close by. Read at the bottom of this
page
for more info.]

Besides the Areas Secret, this is all that is in the area. From here, you will
want to return near the Sacred Water (this is of course, after lighting the Fire
Alter, and poring the Water into the Water alter).

Area 5 (The Palace) - Top

After Filling the Water Alter, and lighting the Fire Alter, return to the area
where the Door Oracle was located. You may notice the 2 Dark Knights exiting the
Palace on the left (near the Sacred Water). You will want to kill these two
Knights, before entering the Palace.

[Trick: If you allow these two Knights to chase you over to the Water Oracle,
there is a spot, right next to the River, where they will stand in front of you,
but will not attack. Just run past the Water Oracle, until you get to the
River.
Then, turn around and smack them mercilessly.

Alternatively, you can run into the Sacred Water. The Knights will not enter the
Sacred Water, so again, you can use this to your advantage (it just isn't as
easy).]

Once the first two Dark Knights are out of the way, enter the Palace, using the
left side stairs. When you enter, you will find the Palace Lock directly on
your
left. Do not spend too much time looking at the Lock, as a third Dark Knight is
already moving in to kill you. This dark Knight is also holding the "Palace
Key".
Kill him, and unlock the Palace Lock.

As soon as you step through the Palace Lock door, 2 more Dark Knights will move
in to kill you. One will come from the path directly ahead of you, while the
other will come from the path to your left. Either way, both of the Knights
attack at the same time, and if you are not careful, one of them will be able to
sneak up from behind. Both of these Knights will fall for the Trick listed above
(pulling them to the Water Oracle).

For easier directions, I will restart from the Palace Lock, and refer back to it
again. Anyway, to explore the first floor of this area, begin at the Palace
Lock,
and then go immediately to the left. Follow the path, entering the next room,
where you will find the Crypt Lock. You do not yet have the Crypt Key, so just
make a note of this location.

Return to the Palace Lock, and go Directly from the Palace Lock, continuing down
the straight hallway, until it comes to a corner. Notice the staircase on the
right just before the corner, and notice the path at the corner. Follow this
path
down, where you will find a Life Potion (1000).

Double back now, and go up the stairs that you passed, near the corner. The
stairs lead up to a "balcony" that surrounds the first room of the Palace (the
room where the Dark Knight who had the Palace Key was located, and the Large
Bird
Statue). The balcony is also guarded by 2 more Dark Knights, and both use melee
and Archery to attack. When using the Bow, both of the Knights will use Poison
Arrows. The Closest Knight is also holding a Life Potion (500), and is very near
to a set of stairs that you will be using very soon.

Kill both of the Dark Knights, and then follow the balcony around, until it
ends.
On the floor, you will find a Life Potion (500). There is also a Spear, and a
Boathook up here. Once you have located the Life Potion (500), return to where
you fought the first Dark Knight, and locate the small set of stairs, which lead
down to a Lever. Pull the Lever to open a door, leading out to a catwalk.

Area 6 (The Crypt Key, and Rhino Club) - Top

After pulling the Lever, step outside onto the catwalk/bridge. If you sniped the
Goblins at the very start, when you first entered the Temple, you should find
Travelers Rations on the ground, that one of the Goblins dropped. If you could
not snipe the Goblins, then you will find a Goblin up here, and you will need to
kill it.

Cross the catwalk, and enter the room on the other side. Inside, the room is
pretty simple, with the exception of the square hole found in the center. You
have an option here, of (A) dropping into the square hole, or (B) crossing past
the hole, and continuing across the next catwalk. Path (A) leads to the Crypt
Key, and a Stone Golem. Path (B) leads to an Orc, 3 Death Knights, and
eventually, leads to the Rhino Club. I will cover each option below, and yes,
you can (and should) do both...

Option A (The Crypt Key): Drop into the Square Hole. When you land, you should
find the Crypt Key on the circular stone. Before picking the Crypt Key up, look
to the back of the room, where you will see a inanimate Stone Golem. As soon as
you pick the Crypt Key up, the Stone Golem will awaken, and will attack. You
will
need to kill the Stone Golem in order for the "gates" to open, so that you can
exit the room.

Option A can be done first or second (after Option B), but this step must be
done. Option B is completely optional, and does not need to be done at all.
However, to keep from going back and forth, I suggest, if you are going to do
Option B, that you do it before Option A. It isn't important that you do it in
that order, but it will save you an extra trip up and down, through the Palace.

Option B (The Rhino Club): Cross the hole in the floor, and exit out onto the
next catwalk. If you sniped the Goblin earlier, then you will find Travelers
Rations. If not, you will find the Goblin awaiting you. Continue across the
catwalk, and enter the room on the other side. Just inside the door, to the
right, you will find a box which contains a Crust. To the left, there is a small
path, leading up to a room with an Orc. When you break the box for the Crust,
the
noise is likely to alert the Orc to your presence.

Enter the room where the Orc was, where you will find a Boathook and a Combat
sword on the weapons rack. Go to the right, into a room full of boxes. There is
a
Crust in one of the boxes, but breaking them will just alert the 3 Dark Knights
in the next room.

As I just said... From the room full of boxes, look down the next hallway, where
you will see 2 of the 3 Dark Knights. The third is just behind the wall, and is
carrying a "Shield", and a Full Life Potion. Anyway, you will need to kill all 3
of these Knights.

Once the Knights are out of the way, continue following the path. You will come
to a split, where a set of stairs is leading downward. These stairs will return
you to the beginning of the Temple (near the Sacred Water). No need to worry
about the stairs, instead, continue straight ahead, until you come to an outdoor
area. In the center of the outdoor area, there is an octagon shaped hole, which
is directly above the Sacred Water. Near the skeletal remains of an old corpse,
you will find the Rhino Club.

Once you have found the Rhino Club, enter the door behind it, and pull the
Lever.
The door will open, which will return you to the balcony on the second floor of
the Palace. If you have not yet dropped into the hole for the Crypt Key, you can
do so now, as it is very close by.

Area 7 (The Crypt) - Top

Once you have the Crypt Key, return to the Palace, and locate the Crypt Lock.
Incase you have forgot: As soon as you walk through the Palace Lock Door, turn
left, and follow the path into another room. In this room, you will find the
Crypt Lock.

Unlock and open the Crypt Lock, and then follow the stairs down to the bottom.
In
the room below the steps, you will have to fight 5 Zombies. You will also find a
Crust in a pile of boxes, and near the stairs from the Crypt Lock, you will find
a box of Torches. In the back of this room, you will find a set of stairs,
leading down into the darkness below.

After killing all 5 of the Zombies, go back to the entrance of the Crypt, and
pick up one of the Torches. Light it off of the Torch that is mounted on the
wall
(do this with the "use" key). Take this Torch, and then go down the stairs,
which
lead into the darkness. At the bottom of the stairs, you should find 2 unlit,
wall-mounted Torches. Light them both quickly, and then kill the 2 Zombies that
are closing in to attack.

On the ground, under one of the wall-mounted Torches that you lit, you should
find another unlit Torch on the ground (the kind that you can pick up). Pick
this
Torch up, and light it off of one of the other lit Torches.

Continue ahead at this point, lighting 3 more wall-mounted Torches as you go. If
you do this quickly, you can save yourself a little time with the Torch. After
lighting the 3rd Torch, a Zombie will attack from the dark staircase. Kill it,
then pick up the Torch that you were carrying (if it is still lit), go down the
stairs, and light another wall-mounted Torch. If your Torch has burned out
before
reaching this Torch, you can find another replacement torch, at the bottom of
the
stairs, under the Torch that you need to light.

When you step down the stairs to light the aforementioned Torch, 2 more Zombies
will come in the room to attack. Kill them both, and then continue straight
ahead, until you bump into the wall. Look down, and you should see a "Bowl".
Light this Bowl on fire with your Torch.

At this point, you will be in a long hallway, witch has 4 very small rooms along
the right hand side. Three of the 4 rooms will have another Bowl which you can
light, and one of the rooms will have a Harpoon (Amazon). There is a final Bowl
which can be lit, which is located near the end of the hallway, on the left
side.

Just past the Last Bowl on the left, you will find a small set of stairs,
leading
down to a mildly illuminated room. I hate to ruin the surprise, but hey! This is
a walkthrough after all... So, when you enter this room, and as you walk near to
the sunk in portion in the center, the walls will begin to close in on you. If
you turn around, you will find a "Trigger" Button on the wall. Quickly press
this
button, and the sunk in portion of the floor will roll away, revealing a set of
stairs, leading downward. Run down the stairs to avoid the walls from smashing
into you (and crushing you).

Follow the stairs down, and enter the room below. There is a "sunk in recess" in
the wall, and a wall next to it, that looks as if it could open. I actually have
no idea what this is for. If anyone else does, please send it in. Check the
screenshot for a clearer picture of what "I have no idea" about.

On the other side of the room, you will find a fire, and a throne. Just in front
of the throne, you will find the "Staff". Not only is this Staff required to
solve this area, it also heals you slowly as you are holding onto it. It is well
worth it to hold the staff until you are at full health, even if it takes a long
time.

With the Staff in hand, return to the Door Oracle, and find the "Round Hole".
Shove the Staff into this hole...

Area 8 (The Round Hole) - Top

When you shove the Staff into the "Round Hole" (behind the Door Oracle), the
Staff will light up, and then shoot a beam of light at the door. The Door will
then open, allowing you to enter inside.

After entering, you will find the Sacred Stone in the center of the room. You
should also notice the Green Gem on one wall, and the Empty Eye. More so, you
should notice that the Empty Eye, is actually supposed to hold a Gem as well.
After noticing everything, go over and press down on the Sacred Stone. Doing so,
will open a slot in the roof, which will allow the sunlight to shine into the
room just right, so that it reflects off of the Green Gems. The light will then
refract, and beam onto the door across the room. This process will open the
door.

When the door opens, 2 Dark Knights will exit from within, and will attack
(sometimes 3 will come). One of these Dark Knights will be carrying a Life
Potion
(1000). After killing them both, you will need to enter the door, and go up the
stairs.

Along the stairs, you will fight 2 more Dark Knights, both of which are carrying
a Life Potion (1000) (sometimes, one of these Dark Knights will get confused,
and
will fall to his death in the water below). Continue up the stairs, and enter
the
room at the top. Here, you will find a Green Gem on a small pedestal. Pick the
Gem up, and go back down the stairs to the "Sacred Stone" room.

Now, notice the door that you entered to go up the stairs. The green beam
refracts off of a Gem on the wall, before it finally hits the Gem above the
door.
On the other side of the room, you will see that the green beam is "broken". It
hits the "Empty Eye", and then it stops cold. Well, insert the Green Gem into
the
Empty Eye, to complete the beam. The next door will now open.

Enter the new door, where you will need to follow a few sets of stairs, down to
a
room at the bottom. When you enter the room at the bottom, go to the rear of the
room. You will see a small pool, and a little further away, you will see a fire.
When you near the fire, a "Fire Skeleton" will magically appear from the flames.
The skeleton isn't that strong (L11), and is nothing compared to the Skeleton
King that you fought before. However, you will need to fight 4 of these
Skeletons, back to back, one after the other.

When you kill the final Skeleton, the water in the pool will drain a little,
exposing a hole in the floor. You will want to drop into this hole in order to
continue.

Area 9 (The Underwater Passage) - Top

After killing the 4 Fire Skeletons, the Water in the pool will drain, exposing a
hole in the floor. Drop into this hole, and then walk towards the glowing light,
throbbing in the distance. You will then discover that the lights source is
emitting from the "Amber Key". When you pick the Amber Key up, you will learn
that it is actually the Amber Gem, and the door next to it will then crack open.

Walk through the door, and head towards the right. While walking, keep an eye
towards the left. You will want to look for a ledge that is low enough so that
you can climb up it. If you have difficulty locating the ledge, then watch for a
Torch up high on the left wall. Below the Torch, you will find the ledge.

Climb up the ledge, and then climb up the next. When you reach the top, look
out,
away from the wall, where you will see a cave that you can jump to. Jump across,
into the cave, and follow the obvious path. Eventually, you will come to a
brighter, open area, which has a large door, and 2 stationary Stone Golems on
each side.

As you near the Door, the Stone Golems activate, and begin to attack. Both of
the
Golems are Level 9 (Level 9 average, as levels may change depending on when you
begin the Temple of Al Farum). This can be a difficult fight, having both Golems
attacking you at the same time. Just try to keep them lined up, having one
behind
the one that you are attacking. For this fight, it also helps if you attack, and
then quickly jump backwards once or twice. Also, if you can... Block
frequently... Even if you are not expecting an attack. Stone Golems have an
invisible "hit range", where you will still be hit, even if they miss.

When you kill both of the Stone Golems, the area will be complete.

[Additional info needed: There are two things in this area, that I need answers
for. First, I could not find the reason for the "recess" near the Staff Room.
Second, I have no Idea what the Amulet is used for. Any information on these two
would be greatly appreciated. Full credit will be given to those who can fill in
the blanks. Please, send it in.]

Area Secret (Rune) - Top

When you drop down from the building with the hole in the roof, you will land on
the other side of the River, in-between the two closed Gates. Enter the room
that
does not have a gate, and fight the (L9) Golem, and locate the Great Mace on the
floor.

Now, while in the same room as the Great Mace and the Stone Golem, turn around,
facing the entry door. The corner, to the right of the Entry door is where you
want to go. You should notice an off colored wall. Smash this wall with your
weapon, until it collapses.

Enter the room behind the collapsed wall. You will find a couple "bird Statues"
and a fire. If you look up, along the far back wall of this room, you will see
the "Rune Switch". Shoot the switch with your bow. When you do that, the door
below the switch will open.

Enter the door below the switch, and follow the stairs down to the next room. In
this room, you will see a bunch of square Tiles on the floor. Six of these Tiles
will have an image of a Rune on them. The other Tiles are blank. This is a
trap... You will need to cross this floor, without stepping on any of the
"Blank"
Tiles. If you step on a Blank Tile, it will collapse, and you will fall to your
death.

The best way to deal with this trap, is to make a running jump to the Rune Tile
towards the center, on the left hand side of the room. From there, jump to the
next Rune Tile towards the center, this one being in the middle of the room.
Then, make a final jump to the other side of the Tiles.

[Note: You can step on the Blank Tiles, but for only a split second. If you jump
too short, it is possible to step off of a Blank Tile, and onto a Rune Tile.
Just
don't count on this.]

After you cross the Tile Trap, enter the next room, where you will find the
Ianna
Rune. Touch it for the normal story line message, and to receive the Rune. After
you have the Rune, a door will slide open behind it. Go through that door, and
pull the Lever to open the next. You will find yourself returned to the
beginning
of the Tile Trap Room. You will not need to redo the trap. Instead, just exit
back out to the Rune Button Room.

Forge of Xshathea

The Forge of Xshathea is an extremely dangerous, and not to mention, hot area.
Full of very strong enemies, as well as being drenched in lava, you should
expect
to be in for a "rough trip". However challenging this area may be, it is also
quite rewarding. For each of the 4 characters, you will find highly sought after
items.

All in all, navigating this area is fairly simple. All of the lava pits, and
difficult jumps aside, the Forge of Xshathea is pretty straight forward. In most
cases, all you can do is continue onward. The few exceptions are in the areas
where you would (or could) find a special item, hidden item, or required item.

With that said... On with the walkthrough.

Getting Started (Dwarf Armor / Fire Bo) - Top

As soon as this area begins, go ahead and take a moment to absorb the
atmosphere.
Once you have had enough, and before walking up the stairs, turn around,
entering
the room behind you. In the back corner of that room, you will find a Life
Potion
(500). Pick it up, and then go up the stairs, entering the Forge of Xshathea.

Enter the Forge and go up the first set of stairs, entering another room. In
this
room, you may be attacked by an Orc and a Goblin. If not, then swing your weapon
to attract them. They will come into the room to attack you. The Orc has a Life
Potion (150), and the Goblin has a Life Potion (50).

Kill the Orc and the Goblin, and then enter the next room. This room is
overlooking a room below. There is no more to to up here, so drop down to the
room below. You will have to fight 2 Goblins, and one of them is using an Orc
Sword (Poison).

After killing both of the Goblins, locate and pull the Lever on the wall. The
Gate in front of you will open, allowing you to cross a bridge. Be cautious, as
there is a very angry Orc on the other side of this bridge. The Orc has a Life
Potion (150). Kill the Orc, cross the bridge, and enter the "spiral shaped"
staircase.

Go up the stairs, where you will fight another Orc, and another Goblin. Once
they
are dead, look to your left, and you should see a collapsed bridge. You will
also
find a Lever on the wall. Remember the collapsed bridge, as we will soon be
returning. For now, you will need to go back down the stairs.

Dwarf Medium Armor / Amazon Fire Bo

From the top of the Stairs (next to the Lever and the collapsed bridge), head
back down, looking towards the outside. You should find a small stone "plank"
that looks like the beginning part of an incomplete bridge. Step out onto this
plank, and look towards the distant wall. You should see a door, about 10 feet
up
from the ground level. From the Plank, jump over to this door, entering inside
of
it (click the screen-shot for image). On the floor, and against the back wall,
you will find the "Dwarf Medium Armor" and the Amazons "Fire Bo".

To return from here, drop to the ground, and enter the spiral stairs. You will
need to step onto the elevator, pull the lever, and ride it back to the top.
Once
you are back at the top, you will need to jump across the collapsed bridge...

Area 1 - Top

Jump across the collapsed bridge, and then immediately prepare yourself for
combat. To your left, there is a Dark Knight (L 11-14 depending on your Level)
who has a Life Potion (1000). When this Knight moves to attack you, another
Knight will hear the noise and come to assist. Unless you can kill the first
Knight in a couple of seconds, you will be fighting two Knights at the same
time,
and a very small room. You may find it a little easier if you run past them, and
into the more spacious room beyond.

After killing both of the Knights, check out the room, noticing the hole in the
floor (which is full of lava). Just past the hole, you will find 2 buttons,
or "triggers". As you near the hole in the floor, it will begin to "boil", and
large lava stones will spring hazardously out of the lava.

Jump over the hole, trying to avoid the splashing lava rocks, and press both of
the buttons on the wall. When you do this, another door in the same room will
open up. Jump back across the lava, and enter the newly opened door.

You will see a bridge, with at least 1 Zombie at the end of it. You will fight a
total of 4 Zombies here. You can charge them all outright, or you can make a
little noise, and then let them slowly walk into the room to attack you (this
way, you have more room to fight).

After killing the Zombies, cross the bridge, and go up the stairs.

Area 2 (A Crown and the Fire Sword) - Top

After killing the 4 Zombies, cross the bridge, and enter the spiral staircase.
As
you go up the stairs, you will find a total of 3 paths leading off of the
staircase. There is also a collapsed portion in the steps that you will want to
be extra cautious of.

Go up the spiral stairs, and take the first path to your right. This path leads
to a small treasure, and a large trap. Cross the bridge, and enter the next
room.
This is where the trap begins. If you look at the floor, you should notice the
discolored floor. If you step onto it, the floor will collapse from under you,
dropping you into another room below. Just across the discolored floor, you
should see the "Crown" (the treasure that I mentioned).

To avoid this trap, instead of stepping on the floor, step through the support
beams to the left, and then walk along the very edge. When you get to the end,
step back through the support beams, and onto the stronger floor. Pick up the
Crown from the stone that it sits on.

If you fall into the trap, you will be attacked by a Fire Skeleton. This
Skeleton
is of high level (L15-17 depending on your level). After killing the Fire
Skeleton, look on the back wall, where you will find a Lever. Also notice the
square wooden elevator on the floor, near the spot where you fell in through the
floor. When you pull the Lever, the elevator will begin to slowly rise. At the
same time, the lava in the room will begin to quickly rise. As soon as you pull
the Lever, you will need to turn around, and run directly for the elevator.
Step,
or climb onto the elevator, and ride it up so that you can grab the Crown. Once
you have the Crown, return to the Spiral Stairs, and go upwards.

Go up the spiral stairs, and take the second path (that is... out of the 3 paths
in the spiral stairs, take the second one. The Crown is found in the first
one.).
The bridge will be broken, so just jump across it. Enter the room, and kill 3
Zombies. Then, go to the very back of this room, where you will find the "Fire
Sword" (Knight).

Once you have the Fire Sword (or looked at it), double back, and re-enter the
Spiral Stairs. Go up to the top, and take the 3rd and final path.

Area 3 (Tower Key / Heavy Naginata) - Top

From the top of the spiral stairs, take the last path, and go up another set
of "straight" stairs. Enter the room at the top. Two Dark Knights will then
enter
as well, and will attack you. One of the Knights will have a Life Potion (1000).

At the back of the room, you should find the "Tower Lock". To the right of the
Tower Lock, you will see another set of stairs (the same stairs that the Dark
Knights entered the room from). Go up these stairs, looking towards the right.
You will see a "blood soaked" room a small distance below the stairs. You will
need to drop into this room from the stairs. It doesn't matter if you drop from
the bottom of the stairs or the top (the stairs dead end at the top anyway).

When you drop into the room, a (L10-12) Minotaur and a (L10-12) Dark Knight will
come out of a small room, and attack. The Dark Knight holds the Tower Key. This
can be a tough fight, but you will need to learn how to fight battles such as
this, as there will be a few more (more difficult) during this area. One helpful
tip I can give you, is to try to keep both enemies in front of you, and if
possible, try to keep them clumped up enough so that they can damage each other.
You should circle a lot, use weapon specific combo attacks, and try to fight in
open spaces (where you have room to move).

After the fight, you will gain the Tower Key. Also, check the Minotaurs room for
the "Amazons "Heavy Naginata". From here, return to the Tower Lock, by climbing
out of this room, and going back down the stairs.

Area 4 (Tower Lock / Sharp Sword) - Top

After wrestling the Tower Key from the Dark Knight, return to the Tower Lock and
open it. When the gate opens, you will see a bridge, leading to another spiral
staircase. As you step out onto the bridge, 2 Skeletal Archers will begin to
fire
arrows at you from your right side. Run across the bridge to escape them.
However... You may want to cross over to them, just to kill them. This is mostly
true is you are playing as Sargon (The Knight). In the room with the 4 Skeletal
Archers, you will also find the Knights "Sharp Sword".

Getting over to the Skeletal Archers is very difficult. It is one of the more
difficult "jumps" in this area. Not only will you need to make difficult jumps,
80 feet above molten hot lava, you will have to do it while being pelted by
arrows. I warn you of this, and suggest that you save your game before trying.

Anyway, to get over to the Skeleton Archers, you will need to step back out onto
the bridge, next to the Tower Lock. The Archers will begin to rain arrows down
on
you (both, regular and poison). If you are facing the Skeletal Archers, look
slightly to the left, on the outside of the spiral staircase. You will see a
small stone "plank". You will need to jump over to this plank, and then jump
over
to the bridge next to it (click the screenshot for a clearer picture). When you
land on the bridge, cross it, and enter the room. You will need to kill the 3
Skeletal Archers in this room. Once they are dead, smash through the barrels in
the corner, and there you will find the Knights "Sharp Sword".

Now, turn back around and cross over the bridge again. You will find another
Tower Lock here. This will open a path back into the spiral stairs. Step back
into the spiral stairs, and head downward. You will have to kill a total of 3
Zombie Knights while you are going down the stairs.

Area 5 (Lock / Key / Great Fire Sword) - Top

Near the bottom of the stairs, you will find a bridge to your left. Before
taking
this bridge, continue down to the bottom of the stairs, where you will find
another bridge. On the other side of this bridge, you will find a locked gate.
If
you check the lock, it will say only "Lock". Remember this location, as you may
want to return here (especially if you are playing as the Barbarian).

Go back up the stairs a little, cross the bridge that I told you to pass up, and
then follow the obvious path. You will come upon 3 Skeletons along the way. At
the end of the path, you will some to a ramp leading downwards, which has
"dragon
head shaped" flame throwers lining the walls, all of the way down. You can go up
the ramp as well, but there is nothing of interest at the top.

Anyway, as you go down this ramp, the dragon heads will spit flames out, burning
you as you pass. To avoid any unnecessary damage, when going down the ramp,
stick
as close to the wall as you can. You will walk under the dragon heads, avoiding
most, if not all, of the fire damage.

Be careful on your way down the ramp, as there is a collapsed section that is
difficult to see. If you fall into this hole, you will burn to death in the lava
below. Jump over the hole, and then continue down the ramp.

After jumping over the hole, as you continue downward, 2 Dark Knights will come
up the ramp to attack you. One of the Dark Knights has the "Key" (which is used
for the "Lock" we passed). Both of these Dark Knights are holding a Life Potion
(500).

Once you have the "Key" you will want to double back to the "Lock" that we
passed
earlier. However, you will be returning to this ramp, to continue to the bottom
of it.

Unlock and enter the "Lock". Go down the stairs, watching out for 2
small "discolored" spots on the steps. The discolored spots will collapse under
you if you step on them. Instead, jump over these bad spots. When you jump over
the second discolored spot, stop and make a quarter turn to your right. Across
the lava, you should see a door. Look up above this door, and you should see
a "Huge!" button. Pull out your bow, and fire an arrow at this big ass button.
If
you hit the button (as if you could miss), the door below it will open.

Continue down the stairs, where you will fight a Skeleton at the bottom. Then,
jump across the lava, and enter the door that you opened. Follow the obvious
path, and you will dead-end into a room. In the center of this room, you will
find the "Great Fire Sword". Pick it up (and if you are not the Barbarian, put
it
back down). Picking up the sword triggers a few Skeletons to appear. As you try
to exit back out, 2 Skeletons will attack from the lava pools that you passed,
and then one more as you exit the door again.

From here, back track, remembering to jump over the 2 holes in the steps, and
return to the room with all of the flame throwing dragon heads.

Area 6 (Knights Heavy Armor) - Top

At the bottom of the ramp with all of the Dragon Heads (which spit flames), You
will come to a lava pit. In the center of the lava pit, there is a circular
shaped room. You will need to jump from the loose stones at the bottom of the
ramp; over the lava, and into the circular room.

Once you are in the room, check near the door for a Lever. When you pull the
lever, another door across the lava pit will open. You will need to jump from
the
circular room over to the newly opened door. Be careful when you do this, making
sure not to "jumping short" or to "over jump" the small landing spot that is
available. You may also want to save your game before making this jump.

When you make the jump, a Minotaur will come directly for you, from your left
side. Along with this Minotaur, a Dark Knight will also attack. The Dark Knight
has the "Weapons Store Key". It may simplify things a little, if you run up the
stairs to your right. At the top of the stairs, you will find a small room,
which
to fight your battle in. This room is pretty small, and offers little space to
move. However, you will have more room here, then if you were to fight in the
small hallway. Just be careful not to step on the side of the room which does
not
have a wall. If you do, you will fall into the lava.

After you defeat the Minotaur and the Dark Knight, you will gain the Weapon
Store
Key. Go up the stairs (unless you fought at the top of the stairs, then you are
already there ), and step on the elevator. Pull the Lever, ride the elevator
down, and then quickly step off of it.

When you step off of the elevator, turn to your left, and follow the obvious
path. At the end of the path, you will come to the "Weapon Store Lock". Open the
Lock, and enter the room. Inside, you will find the "Knights Heavy Armor", and
a "Combat Axe".

Exit out of the Weapons Store Room, and turn immediately to your right. Take 3
steps, and then turn left. You should see a small room, if you look through the
support beams, and across the lava. If you put your weapons away, you can make a
running jump across the lava, landing inside of this small room. Check behind
the
support beam in this room, where you will find a Life Potion (1000). Pick the
Life Potion up, and then jump back across the lava.

Return now, back towards the elevator, passing it up and following the obvious
path. When you reach the dead-end, look out into the lava. You will see 3 stones
that you can use as steps. Be warned! If you fall into the lava pit, it is over
your head. This means that you will die instantly if you get into it, instead of
just taking burning damage. You may want to save your game just incase. Saving
you game is smart, not only for the lava stones, but also for the monumental
battle that is just beyond.

Jump across the 3 stones, and then enter the room on the other side.

Area 7 ("The" Fight of a Lifetime) - Top

[Note: Now... Taking a moment away from the walkthrough to explain this next
section. First, I do not want to spoil this for anyone, so very little
information will be given. I will tell you that you will have a very tough fight
ahead. Not only is it tough, it is one of the coolest ones that there is. I mean
that seriously... By "coolest" I mean out of any game. Of course, everyone has
their own opinions, and everything that I have said is my opinion, and my
opinion
alone. However, I think that this fight will become one of those "classic"
battles or moments in computer gaming history. I hate to "over-inflate" this
battle, getting you all hyped up, expecting to be mesmerized, and then find that
the battle falls short of your expectations. The battle is nothing "phenomenal",
but taken along with all that you have been through this far in the game, it is
hard not to notice what a cool battle this is.]

After jumping across the 3 stones in the lava, and entering the room on the
other
side, a cut-scene will begin. When the cut-scene ends, you will have to fight 2
enemies (You'll see). During this fight, you should keep the two enemies clumped
up, so that they damage each other while trying to damage you.

We have a Screen Shots of what is going on. If you must, go ahead and take a
look. To view the screen shot, click on the text link below.

Screen Shot... (SPOILER WARNING!!!)

After the battle is over, cross through the general area. There is only one way
to go... At the end of the area, you will find a pile of Vases, clumped up,
blocking off the next pathway. Break through these vases, and continue down the
path. Along the way, you will need to kill 4 Zombies, and then you will come to
another "spiral staircase". Enter the stairs...

Area 8 (Dungeon Lock and Key) - Top

[Note: In this area, we will be going from one spiral stairs, to another. I will
try to keep the confusion down.]

After "The Battle", break through the vases, and follow the path. Kill the 4
Zombies, and enter the spiral staircase. Go up the stairs, killing 3 more
Zombies
on your way. The first path that you come to is closed off by a gate. If you
look
carefully through the gate, you will notice that it is the room at the very
beginning of the area. Remember? The first room that you dropped into; where you
fought the 2 Goblins, and then pulled the Lever. Anyway, you can not open this
gate, so just continue up to the top of the spiral stairs.

You will find another bridge at the top of the stairs. The bridge has collapsed,
and on the other side of the bridge, you may or may not see a Fire Skeleton on
patrol. Don't worry if you do not see him. He is on patrol, and is around the
corner.

Anyway, if you look down through the hole in the bridge, you will see the top of
a lower bridge, directly under you. If you drop through the hole, landing on the
top of the lower bridge, you will find a Power Potion. The problem is getting
down from this bridge. You will need to drop to another bridge below you (to the
left or right, it doesn't matter). This is a little difficult to do without
falling into the lava, but it isn't too bad. When you drop to the lower bridge,
just re-enter the spiral stairs, and work your way back up to the collapsed
bridge that you dropped through. Now, jump across the collapsed bridge, and
follow the obvious path. When you find the Fire Skeleton, go ahead and kill him.

Again, continue to follow the obvious path. You will come to another Spiral
Staircase. Go up the spiral stairs, and fight 2 Skeletons. After you kill the
Skeletons, check the bridge at the top of the stairs. It too has collapsed. Jump
over the hole, and then kill the Zombie Knight (the Zombie Knight is in the
spiral stairs). You will find another bridge here as well. Cross the bridge, and
enter the room on the other side.

When you enter the room, a Dark Knight and 2 more Zombie Knights will attack
you.
The Dark Knight has the "Dungeon Key". Follow the wooden ramp downward, fighting
two more Zombie Knights along the way. At the bottom of the wood ramp, you will
find the "Dungeon Lock". Use caution when you near the Dungeon Lock, as the
floor
directly in front of the Dungeon Door has collapsed. Jump over the hole and open
the Dungeon Door.

Area 9 (Fire Axe / Black Gem) - Top

Open the Dungeon Lock and enter inside. When you do, the Dungeon Door will slam
shut behind you, and 3 Dark Knights will attack. One of the Dark Knights has a
Life Potion (500), and another has a Life Potion (Full). The Dark Knight with
the "Shield" (white with black trim) is the one with the Full Life Potion. As
for
the fight... Well, when you enter the Dungeon Door, if you immediately turn
left,
towards one of the 3 Dark Knights, and then charge towards him, the other two
Dark Knights may not notice you. This way, you can fight "one-on-one" and then
fight "one-on-two", instead of fighting "one-on-three".

Once the Dark Knights are dead, walk forward through the area. There is only one
way to go. When you near the Temples, 2 "Ghouls" will warp in and attack. Both
can "warp" around during combat, and both can breathe fire. The Ghouls are Level
9-11, depending on your Level.

Use "red combos" against the Ghouls, circle a lot, and try to keep them clumped
together. Watch and wait for one of them to attack at you. If you keep circling,
you will have an opening to counter-attack. Try not to stand directly in front
of
the Ghouls, or they will breathe fire, in rapid bursts.

When the Ghouls are dead, a door will open, allowing you to continue forward.
Before you go through the door, turn to your left, and notice the alter in the
distance. If you go over and check the alter, you will find the "Fire Axe" on
top
of it. Grab the Axe (if you are a Dwarf, and if you want it), and then go
through
the door that opened.

When you step through the door, it will shut closed behind you. Walk down the
stairs, and enter the center of the area. A Fire Golem will then jump out of the
lava and will attack. The Fire Golem has the "Black Gem".

The Fire Golem isn't much different then a Stone Golem. He has the same attacks,
and the same attack speed. Just stay to his side, always circling, and wait
until
after he attacks to counter attack.

When you defeat the Fire Golem, you will gain the Black Gem, and the area will
be
complete.

Fortress of Nemrut

Frozen and snow covered, the Fortress of Nemrut sits in the center of the World.
An architectural masterpiece, and one of the games more grandiose areas. When
you
begin at the Fortress of Nemrut, you will find yourself in a quite, outside
corner, just outside the Fortress walls.

When you walk around, you can actually hear the snow crunching under your feet
with each step. The sounds are timed with the steps of your feet, and are so
realistic, that you actually "feel" like you are stepping in 2 inch deep snow.

As you near the entrance to the Fortress, a gust of wind or a strong draft, will
blow past you, with an eerie "howl". The effect?.. Well, Lets just say "it's
cool
as sh@t".

Getting Started (Entering the Fortress) - Top

When you begin in the Fortress of Nemrut, I suggest that you take just a moment
to absorb the snowy environment. This truly is an awesome game. Step around a
little, and listed to the crunchy snow.

When you're done making "snow angels", follow the obvious path. A short
distance
ahead of the starting area, you will find a big hole in the Fortress wall. Climb
into this hole, where you will enter a room will another collapsed wall. You may
not notice the small room, as the collapsed walls seam to continue straight
through. I make note of them because there will be 2 Traitor Knights on the
other
side of the second collapsed wall. Often, they will hear you as you are climbing
the stones and debris, and they will come to attack. Just be careful that they
do
not catch you in an awkward position (such as pulling yourself up a stone
block).

If the Knights do not attack you, then when you reach the top of the collapsed
wall, you will find a Traitor Knight near the gate to your left, and another one
on patrol along the wall (probably towards your right). The Knight on patrol has
a Life Potion (500), and the one by the door has the "Store Key".

Traitor Knights
I want to take a minute to talk about the Traitor Knights. You may, or may not
find them challenging, but I like to add in a little info about new enemies
(though Sargon finds Traitor Knights during his first area).

Anyway, Traitor Knights can be quite deadly if you allow them to "open up".
Their
attacks are so fast, that once you are hit, they will continue to repeatedly
smack you, before you can counter.

However, They die quite easily. Though they appear to be dressed in full plate
(armor), they really have a very low armor rating.

Consider the above, and when facing Traitor Knights, go full blast... Attack
them, before they have a chance to attack you, and keep circling them. When you
do circle them, always circle counter-clockwise.

Area 1 (Store Lock) - Top

Once you have the Store Key, look at the close-by door, and you will find
the "Store Lock". Open and enter this door, and you will find the dark and dusty
Store Room. In this room, there are 3 barrels, and a rickety old staircase. In
the 3 barrels, you will find 2 pieces of "Meat".

Go up the Stairs, and step outside. You will need to fight 2 Traitor Knights out
here. After you kill the 2 Knights, follow the obvious path, down the "street".
When it dead-ends, you will find another path off to your left. In the doorway
of
this path, there will be another Traitor Knight. Kill him, and step through the
doorway. Turn to your right, and locate the "Courtyard Lock".

You do not have the Courtyard Key yet, so head away from the Courtyard Lock, and
turn to the right. This area is somewhat "circular", in the fact that it will
loop around on itself. Explore the area, where you will end up killing 3 more
Traitor Knights. While you were exploring, you should have noticed 2 "archways".
Both look like a doorway, that was blocked off (no, not the ones with the loose
stones on top). You can climb over these "archways", and enter the area on the
other side.

When you climb over the archways, to your right, you will see another Traitor
Knight. Go over and kill him, and then check around a bit. You will see a
small "table" which has the "Courtyard Key" on it, and you will find a Lever.
The
Lever opens the door, which leads back to the area on the other side of the
archways. Return now, to the Courtyard Lock.

Area 2 (Courtyard Lock) - Top

When you enter the Courtyard, you will almost immediately be attacked by 2 more
Traitor Knights. Once they are dead, cross diagonally across the Courtyard
(forward and left).

Be careful of the 2 Traitor Knight Archers on the wall near the practice dummy.
When you cross the Courtyard, you will fight a 3rd Traitor Knight, who should be
standing next to a closed gate. Near the closed gate, there is a Lever, which
will open it.

Also, if you like, take this opportunity to "snipe" the 2 Archers near the
practice dummy. From near the gate, you will be out of their firing range, but
will still be able to fire on them. If you should run out of arrows, just run
around a little, letting them fire at you, and then collect the arrows.

When you are done playing with the 2 Archer Knights, enter the gate that the
Lever opened, and go up the stairs. The first door that you come to (on your
right), will have 2 Traitor Knights. One of the Traitor Knights will have a Life
Potion (1000). You can step through the door, and onto the roof outside, to
snipe
those Archers on the wall, if you could not do so before.

Alternatively, you can put your weapons away, and make a running-jump from this
roof area, across the Courtyard, and over to the wall that the Archers are on.
You can then kill the Knights, "face-to-face". There are no items or secrets on
this wall, but since you are here, you may want to "recollect" any arrows that
you did fire at the Knights.

Anyway... After you kill the 2 Knights (not talking about the archers), step
back
onto the steps. Go up a little more, where you will cross over a small distance,
and then find a set of stairs leading downward, to a new area. Follow the stairs
down, where you will fight another Traitor Knight. There is a second Knight
here,
but he is on patrol, and may not be visible yet.

Near the Knight, you will find 2 small rooms to the left (of little interest).
In-
between these two small rooms, but on the right side of the bridge, you will
find
a small set of steps. The steps are difficult to find, as they are covered with
snow. Anyway, at the bottom of the steps, you will find the "Killer Axe"
(Dwarf).

Return to the Bridge, and continue across it. When the bridge ends, you will
have
a choice of two different directions. To the left, there is a door, and to the
right, there will be a set of stairs. You need to go down the stairs first, but
remember the door, as you will be returning for it in a minute.

Area 3 (Double Sword / Great Mace) - Top

At the end of the bridge, you will find a door on your left, and a set of stairs
to your right. Go down the stairs, and enter the hallway below. The hallway
leads
into a "stable", which has a Traitor Knight inside of it. Kill the Knight, and
then locate the 2 Levers on the walls. One lever leads out to the streets, and
the other leads into another "stable".

For the purpose of this Walkthrough, in attempts to keep down on the confusion,
do not step out into the streets. Go ahead and pull the Lever to open the door
to
the Streets, but do not go outside.

Pull the Lever which opens the door to the second stable. Inside, you will find
a
Minotaur, who is "munching" down on a dead Knight. Enter the room and attack the
Minotaur. You will be able to get in a lot of attack strikes while the Mino
wipes
his mouth, and picks up his weapon. However, you will not do any damage to him,
until he counterattacks.

When the Minotaur is dead, search the floor of the stable, for the "Double
Sword"
(Knight), and search near the Lever, behind a barrel, for a "Great Mace"
(Knight). Once you are done in the stable, exit to the other stable, and then
return to the hallway that you used to get here. Again... Do not exit from this
stable, back out to the streets, but go ahead and pull the Lever to open that
door.

Area 4 (Armor / Copper Key & Lock) - Top

After killing the Minotaur in the stable, return to the hallway, which leads
back
to the bridge, where the set of stairs and the door to the left were located. Go
up the stairs, and enter the door that I told you to remember, and follow the
path. You will fight 2 Traitor Knights in this area. One of this is an Archer,
who would of been a pest if you entered the streets from the Minotaur stable.
Anyway, once the Knights are dead, continue forward. You will come to a
collapsed
bridge...

You can perform a "running-jump", across the hole in the bridge, and landing on
the other side. Enter the room after the bridge, where you will find 2 Wooden
Shields, the "Dwarf Medium Armor", and the "Amazon Light Armor".

Return to the collapsed bridge, but this time, fall through the hole in the
floor. You will drop into a stable, which is full of empty barrels. There are 3
boxes that are blocking the doorway. Inside the boxes, you will find a Crust,
and
a piece of Cheese. Enter the stable directly across from you, which is also full
of barrels. Inside the barrels in this room, you will find a Crust, a piece of
Cheese, and a piece of Meat. Exit this stable, and turn to the right, and exit
out to the street.

When you reach the street, search the end of it for the "Copper Lock". There is
a
Traitor Knight in the streets, unless he entered the stable earlier, and you
have
already killed him. Anyway, from the Copper Lock, turn directly around, where
you
will find a small stable. There is a door in the rear of this stable, which
leads
into a larger stable. Enter that stable, and a Minotaur will smash through a few
barrels, in a "grand entrance".

When you kill the Minotaur, 2 Traitor Knights will enter through the door of the
stable. One of these Knights, holds the "Copper Key". Once you have the Copper
Key, return to the Copper Lock...

Area 5 (The Palace) - Top

Open and enter the Copper Lock. The Copper Lock Door will slam shut behind you,
locking you in. You will be in a darkly illuminated hallway, which has a small,
bright, outdoor area at the end in the distance. As you walk forward, a Dark
Knight will attack from a small doorway on the right. This Knight holds a Life
Potion (Full), so kill him quickly, and then continue down the hallway. at the
end, 2 more Dark Knights will attack you. One of these Dark Knights has
the "Palace Key".

After killing the 2 Dark Knights, go around the corner, where you will see
another "street", which dead-ends at a gate, in the distance. As you walk down
the street, you will find the "Palace Lock" on your right. Pass the Palace Lock
up, continuing down the street, and look for an open window on the right. Inside
this window, you will find a "Small Shield" (4000 def), and another Life Potion
(Full).

Climb back through the window, and return to the Palace Lock. Open the door, and
enter inside...

The Palace appears to look more like a "Cathedral". In one word, it's "Huge". In
another, the Palace is "Glorious". The music in here is also quite incredible.
Take a few small step further into the Palace, and then take a moment to listen
to the Monks Chant. I actually took a recording of it to listen to in my car ;).

[Area Secret: The Area Secret is very close to here. To learn more, read the
info
at the bottom of this page.]

Anyway, when you enter the Palace, you will see two Dark Knights in the
distance.
As you near them, they will come to attack. One of them has a Life Potion
(1000).
Once the Knights are dead, continue forward.

You will come to a "huge set of stairs". Go up the stairs, and enter the room at
the top. There is a Dark Knight in this room, who is standing near a "Dinning
Table". Kill the Knight and continue a little further, until you come to a gate
with a couple weapons on the other side of it. To your left, there is a bridge,
and a Dark Knight Archer, who will fire Poisoned Tipped Arrows. Step out onto
the
bridge, to get his attention, and then step back into the room. The Dark Knight
will come to you, closing the distance, so that he does not fire arrows.

Kill the Dark Knight, and then step out onto the bridge. You will notice the
there is a "center divider", appropriately placed in the center of the bridge.
Before you get to this "center divider", turn to your right, and look for a
small "roof edge". You can step off of the bridge, out onto this roof, and
follow
it down to a broken window. The broken window leads into a room, which is the
the
other side of the gate that had the weapons inside. In this room, you will find
a "Sharp Axe" (Amazon), and you will find "Knights Medium Armor" (incase you
missed Armor earlier).

Area 6 (Unholy/Sacred Amulet, Ice Wand) - Top

Step back out to the roof edge, and return to the bridge. Follow the bridge
through the center divider, and into the room at the other side. In this room,
you will find the "Unholy Recess" and the "Sacred Recess". You now need to find
the Amulets.

If you step back onto the bridge and look over the edges, you will notice an
area
below. There is one area on each side of the center divider of the bridge. Each
area holds one of the needed Amulets (Unholy Amulet, and Sacred Amulet), and
both
areas are full of Skeletons. To make things easier to understand, I will name
the
areas "Bridge Area 1" and "Bridge Area 2". Bridge Area 1 is the side closest to
the broken window, and Bridge Area 2 is the side closest to the Unholy and
Sacred
Recess.

Bridge Area 1 = This side holds 8 Skeletons, the "Unholy Amulet", and the "Ice
Wand" (Amazon). The Unholy Amulet is near a wall, on top of a stone. The
Skeletons will continue to respawn until you have killed all 8. The Ice Wand is
in the corner, and is difficult to see (the snow hides it well). Once you have
killed all of the Skeletons, and after you pick up the Unholy Amulet, locate the
small room with the Lever. Pull the Lever to return to the Bridge above.

Bridge Area 2 = This side holds 11 Skeletons, and the "Sacred Amulet". The
Sacred
Amulet is on the left side of the bridge (if you were looking at the Recess
Room). After you have killed all 11 of the Skeletons, and have picked up the
Sacred Amulet, the gate in the area will open. The Gate returns you to the
hallway in Area 5, right after the point where you entered the "Copper Lock
Door", and fought the first Dark Knight (who had a Life Potion (1000)). Just
retrace your steps, back through the Palace, and return to the Bridge.

Area 7 (Double Edge, Great Hammer, Ice Axe) - Top

Near the "Recess Room", on the second part of the Bridge (Bridge area 2), you
will see 2 Towers, on each side of the bridge. If you are looking at the Recess
Room, the Tower on the left has a small stone support beam leading up to the top
of it. If you walk up the beam, you will find a "circular shaped" elevator, and
a
Lever to activate it. Pull the Lever, and ride the elevator down to the bottom.

Step off of the elevator, and follow the obvious path (obvious, even if it is
dark). If you need one, you can find a Torch on the ground along the path. When
the path dead-ends, you will have a choice of going to the left, or going to the
right. Be careful here, as the path on the left has a nasty "Blade Trap".

At the end of the path, enter the room on the right. Inside, you will find the
barbarians "Double Edge".

To get past the Blade Trap, simply pick up a bone or a skull from the floor.
Throw the bone into, or through the Blade Trap. The Blades will trigger... After
the Blades trigger, they will begin to reset. Quickly run through the hallway,
and past the Blades.

Once you are past the Blade Trap, You will find a path directly to your left,
and
one continuing straight ahead. The path straight ahead, has the "Great Hammer"
(Dwarf). The Path on the left is a but "curvy", but has not confusing turns. The
room at the end of this path, has a Power Potion, and the "Ice Axe" (Barbarian).

When you pick up the Ice Axe, a (L10-13) Fire Skeleton will enter the room and
attack. If you are a Barbarian, this Fire Skeleton is perfect for testing out
your new axe.

Once you are done, return to the Elevator. Along the way out, you will need to
fight 3 Skeletons, who you obviously awakened from their "eternal Slumber". Pull
the Lever on the elevator, and ride it back up to the top of the Tower. You will
need to jump up, and grab the edge above you, in order to climb out of the
elevator. This can be "tricky", as you need to find a "sweet spot" to jump up.
If
you are having trouble, try climbing out near the Lever.

Return to the Bridge, and enter the Recess Room.

Area 8 (The Recess Room) - Top

After collecting the Amulets and stuff, return to the "Recess Room". Insert both
of the Amulets into the Unholy and Sacred Recess slots. A door will open at this
point. Enter the door, into a "hallway". A "Ghoul" will bust through a window,
and attack. This Ghoul is pretty easy to deal with, so long as you step to the
sides, away from his flame attack, and keep swinging at him. Every time that you
hit him, he will curl a bit, allowing you a chance to get a second hit in (and
then a third, forth, etc). Just keep the pressure on, and avoid the fire breath
attack.

When you kill the Ghoul, he will drop the Opal Key ("Birr - The White Gem").
When
you pick the Key up, the area will end...

Area Secret (Rune) - Top

When you enter the Palace Lock Door, continue forward, until you come to the
large staircase. Go up to the top of the stairs, and then turn around. You
should
see a button on the wall (above the stairs). If you are confused, check the info
in Area 5.

Shoot the button with you bow, and a door at the bottom of the steps will slide
open. Enter the door, and follow the obvious path, until you come to another
button. The other button will be found towards your left, and is marked
as "Trigger". If you get smashed by spikes, then you have gone too far...

When you get to the button, turn around, towards the other pathway, and look up.
You should be able to spot the "Spike Trap".

Press the Button (or "Trigger"), and look down the pathway again. You should
notice that a door opened, and now you can see the Rune (just past the Spike
Trap). Remember how you opened the door...

To get past the Spike Trap, simply pick up any bone or skull from the ground.
Throw the object through the Spike Trap, and the Trap will go off. After the
Spikes hit the floor, they will slowly reset back to the ceiling. This is your
chance. Run quickly through the pathway, under the Spikes.

As soon as you are out from "under" the spikes, another trap will trigger. This
one will fire a bunch of arrows at you. These arrows do little damage, and can
not be disarmed, so keep running.

Just before you get to the Rune Door, it will slam shut, right in your face. You
will need to reopen it. To do this, turn around, and shoot at the button that
you
pressed the first time. If you need an arrow, you can get one from the arrow
trap.

When you shoot the button, the Rune door will open, allowing you to enter for
the
Rune. Grab the Rune, and then exit back to the large stairs. Don't worry about
the traps; none of them will go off on you.

Gorge of Orlok

Frost covered, and shrouded in a haze of snow, the Gorge of Orlok is one of the
more difficult areas to navigate through. No... Incase you may be asking. The
difficulty seeing around is not your graphics card, or any sort of glitch. The
Gorge is designed that way, and I believe that it adds to the atmosphere.

However difficult it may be to see, the Gorge of Orlok is also one of the
smaller
areas in the game. We have created a map to help you through this area. The map
my not be entirely accurate, and it may not be to scale, but you should find it
very helpful all the same.

Getting Started (The Gorge) - Top

When you begin, do not adjust your gamma settings, or the brightness on your
monitor. Just dig in, and move more slowly. Start by crossing the bridge in
front of you. When you reach the other side, 2 Goblins will exit a small room,
and then attack. Kill them both, and check their room for some "Travelers
Rations".

Exit the room, and follow the mountain around. A distance ahead, you will come
to
an intersection, which has a new path to your right. A Goblin will be standing
guard here. Kill him, and then either continue forward, or take the branching
path.

Area 1 (Continue straight - Crush Bo) - Top

If you continue to follow the path, it will twist and curve, but it will
continue
in a "one-way" direction. Along the path, you will fight 2 or 3 Goblins. One of
the Goblins high above you "may" drop down, which would make for the 3rd Goblin.
Chances are, you will fight 2 Goblins, with the path dead-ending at a large
door,
with 2 dead Knights below it.

As you near the dead Knights, 3 Zombies will rise up out of the snow, and then
attack you. Kill them, and then search the corpses of the 2 fallen Knights.
There, you will find a Combat Sword, and the Amazons "Crush Bo".

The large door does not open, but if you like, you can chop on it, and break the
boxes on the other side. Anyway, back track down the path that you followed,
heading back to the "intersection".

Area 2 (Turn at the Intersection) - Top

When you take the turn at the intersection, you will quickly come to
another "intersection, or "wishbone". Here, you will want to take the left hand
path.

As you follow the path, you will find a small set of stairs, which slightly
curve
with the mountain. Continue to follow the path, and it will make a sharp curve,
or U-Turn. At the end of the path, you will find a Goblin, and a ledge which you
can jump over to.

Kill the Goblin, and then jump to the ledge across from you. Here, you will have
to fight another Goblin. After you have dealt with the second Goblin, look
downwards, but do not drop. You should see an Ogre waiting for you. If you are
looking at the Ogre, turn and look to your right. You should find a small
staircase, which is almost hidden by the protruding side of the mountain. Follow
this staircase upwards.

The stairs will make many curves, and then will stop at a high plateau. You will
have to cross a small bridge, and fight a Goblin by a tree. After you have
defeated the Goblin, look around the roots of the tree. You will find a Life
Potion (1000). Surprisingly, when you pick the first potion up, you will find a
second Life Potion (1000) under it. Great! Two Life Potion (1000)'s in the same
place. Now, head back down to the ledge that overlooks the Ogre.

Area 3 (Spike Pit)- Top

Return to the ledge, overlooking the Ogre below. When you are ready, drop on
down
and attack. When you attack, 2 Goblins will hear the noise, and then attack from
the flanks. One of these Goblins will be using an Orc Sword (Poison).

[Trick: Shoot the Ogre with your bow, before you drop down. Being unable to
counter-attack, the Ogre will retreat towards the left. You can then drop down,
and attack the Goblin on the right (one-on-one). The Goblin on the left can be
triggered by making a little noise, and then you can fight him one-on-one as
well. If you do it all quick enough, the Ogre will continue his "fight or
flight"
instincts, and will not attack. You can then kill the Ogre one-on-one.]

There is a 3rd Goblin, who may or may not join in the fight. He is on patrol on
the far side of this area. He is the same Goblin, who may have dropping down on
the path that leads to the Crush Bo.

Once the area is clear, search around until you find the "Spike Pit". Notice the
delicate bridge above the spikes. Then, while looking at the spikes, turn left,
and locate the climbable stones.

Climb up the stones, where you will reach the "top-side" of the "Spike-Pit".
This
is a trap! When you step onto the bridge, it will fall out from under you. You
will need to make a running jump over this bridge, or else you will fall into
the
spike-pit.

When you cross the pit, follow the path until it dead-ends at a ledge, with a
small area below. Drop down, and enter the tunnel.

Area 4 - Top

Drop into the smaller area, from the "Spike-Pit Bridge". You will see a tunnel
in
this area. On the other side of the tunnel, a Goblin and an Ogre will be waiting
to attack you. The Goblin will attack from the right, and the Ogre from the
left.

[Trick: Run through the tunnel, and turn immediately to the right to kill the
Goblin. You can finish him off well before the slow Ogre can get to you.]

After you kill them, follow the path to the left (in the direction that the Ogre
attacked from). The path to the right (the side that the Goblin attacked from),
just leads back to the Spike-Pit area.

Anyway, follow the path, until you hear some action music. Three Zombies will
crawl up out of the snow. Kill them, and then continue on. You will come to a
door, with a collapsed bridge above it. The door leads into a cave. Cautiously
enter the door...

Area 5 (The Cave) - Top

When you enter the cave, two Orcs will attack you. Both Orcs are well equipped,
and quite strong. Plus, the cave has very narrow passages, allowing you very
little room to maneuver around. These Orcs will not exit the cave, so if you are
taking a beating, fallback, and exit the cave.

When the Orcs are out of the way, go ahead and explore the cave. It may seam
confusing at first, but don't worry. The cave has a simple design to it, with a
lot of connecting corridors. If you do get lost, or need better direction,
please
check out the map that we have created.

The two primary paths on the left, both dead-end into small, empty rooms. In the
room, furthest from the cave entrance, there is a breakable wall. When you break
through the wall, follow the steps up to a ledge. On the ledge, you will find a
Power potion.

At the rear of the cave, you will fight an Ogre, who will smash through a wall.
Behind the wall that the Ogre smashes through, you will find the "Doom Axe".

The primary path on the right will fork, into another intersection. Each of the
paths lead to areas on importance.

- At the intersection, the path to the left leads to a Lever, and then to
the "Ice Sword".

Do not pull the Lever. It will activate a "throbbing pike" trap on the other
path
of the intersection. If you do activate this trap, you will need to listen to
the
sound, and time it so that you turn the trap off at the right moment.

- At the intersection, the path to the right leads to the "Outpost".

Area 6 (The Outpost) - Top

From the path, enter the Outpost. You will enter first, into a room filled with
boxes. Search this room, for a set of stairs. Near the stairs, you will find a
chest, and the "Dwarf Medium Armor". Break open the chest to find a 150 Life
Potion.

Now, before going up the stairs, locate the outdoor area. You will see a pillar,
which has a "Pedestal" under it. Make note of this location, and then backtrack
to the stairs.

Go up the stairs, and then go all the way to the room at the (do not turn to the
left). In this room, you will fight a Dark Knight, who has a Life Potion (1000).
Kill him, and then follow the next path. While running down the path, 2 Goblin
Archers will fire arrows on you from above. You can counter attack with your
bow,
but I suggest that you just keep moving.

The room at the end of the path, will have the "Orb" on the table. When you pick
the Orb up, a very short cut-scene will enhance the new discovery. In the corner
of this room, on the floor, you will find another Life Potion (1000). There are
a
few other items on the table (books, etc), but they have no value.

Exit the other doorway in this room, and take the first right hand door. If you
continue straight ahead, be careful for the hole in the floor (the floor will
fall out from under you). You can comb back to explore that room and path if you
like.

Enter the room, and go down the stairs. You will enter another box filled room.
There will be a Dark Knight in this room as well. In the back corner, you can
find a few food items. If you step out into the snow area, you will find another
pillar. Look towards the bottom of the pillar, where you will find the "Ice
Hammer".

Now, explore at your leisure, and then head back to the pillar which had the
Pedestal.

Area 7 - Top

Once you have found the Orb, return to the Pedestal, and then place the Orb into
the slot. The pillar will energize, and activate the 4 doors, which lead to the
center area of the Outpost.

Enter the center room, where you will find the "Aquamarine Key". Also known as
Vilya, the Blue Gem; The Deep Aquamarine Guardian.

When you pick up the Blue Gem (Aquamarine Key), another door in this room will
then open, allowing you an exit from the Outpost. When you step outside, a "Ice
Golem" will climb out of the snow, and then attacks.

Kill the Ice Golem, and then follow the path. Near the end of the path, a Ogre
will exit from a small room. Kill the Ogre, and then follow the path to the
areas
exit.

Temple of Ianna

The Temple of Ianna. Home of the Goddess. If you were not the "chosen one" then
your eyes would not look upon this sacred place. Although you are the chosen
one,
your task will not be an easy one. If being tested, then you will need to prove
yourself. If this is not a test, but indeed a dangerous place that you must
cleanse, then you will need to use all of you talents, all of your strength, in
hopes of sanctifying this Temple. In the end... Your reward shall be
greatness...

Getting Started (Entering the Fortress) - Top

You will begin in a water-filled area, a short distance from the Temples
entrance. Make your way forward, and go up the stairs. You will come to another
water-filled room, which has 2 buttons on the wall. Press both of the buttons,
and 2 doors, on the sides of the same wall, will open up.

Go through the newly opened doors, where you will fight a Flesh Golem. This
Golem
is of lower level (L9ish), and is not much different then any other Golem
(except
for the coloration). Once you have slain the Flesh Golem, another door will open
up, allowing you to continue further into the Temple.

Enter the door that opened, and cross the room that you arrive in. You will find
another path on the other side. Before you follow this new path, turn around,
and
locate a Life Potion (1000) in a small alcove. After you have the Life Potion,
then continue along the path, into the next room.

[Dictation Note: This room, I will unofficially call the "Button Room". For no
other reason, then to give better text directions later in this guide.]

In this room, you will be on a ledge, with a lower area, below you. You will
also
find a collapsed pillar, which you can use as a make-shift staircase. Climb down
to the room below. If you look towards the back wall, you will see a button,
near
the ceiling. Shoot this button with your bow. Once you do that, a door up on the
ledge will open, and a set of stairs will lower near your location.

You can go down the stairs, but you will run into a gate, which blocks the path.
Instead, climb back up the collapsed pillar, onto the ledge, and go through the
other door that opened.

Area 1 (Amber Gem) - Top

[Dictation Note: After you have shot the button, which opened the door on the
ledge, climb back up to the ledge, and go through the door. You will enter a
room, which I'll be referring to as the "Gems Room". Again, this is just to
simplify the text directions that I will be giving later in this guide.]

As soon as you enter the Gems Room, turn to your left, where you will see
another
path. Follow this path into another room, and up a set of stairs. At the top of
the stairs, you will find the Amber Jewel Pedestal. When you near the Pedestal,
a
cut-scene will take over, showing the Amber Gem unlocking a door. The door which
was unlocked will be found back in the "Gems Room".

Area 2 (Aquamarine Gem) - Top

After setting the Amber Gem, return to the Gems Room, where you should find a
new
door that has opened. Enter the door, and go up the stairs. At the top of the
stairs, you should see 2 doors, both leading to the same room. Step into the
doorway, but not into the next room. If you look up, you will see a Skull, which
has glowing red eyes. The room below it is trapped.

If you run into the room, you will be shot full of arrows. No, this is not that
damaging, but it doesn't exactly tickle. If you try to run up the stairs at the
back of this room, the door below the Skull will slam shut, blocking your
progress.

What you need to do is; From the 2 doorways, look up at the Skull. If the eyes
are red, then pull out your Bow, and shoot the center of the Skull. You must be
a
good shot for this to work, as the outsides of the skull will not trigger it.
When you do hit the center of the Skull, the red eyes will fall out, landing on
the steps. You can then enter the room without arrows shooting you, and without
the door closing.

If the eyes are dark on the Skull, and you have not shot the Skull yet... Then
return to the "Gem Room", and then come back to this room. Make sure that you do
not enter the arrow trap. If you do, the eyes on the Skull will darken again.

[Hint: If for any reason, you have made it this far into the game, without
picking up a bow (it happens, trust me), then you can find one on the steps just
before the 2 doors.]

[Trick: If you need arrows, you can get a full supply from the Arrow Trap.
Before
shooting the Skull, step into the trap room, and run around. Collect the arrows
that drop. If you are low on arrows, this is a good idea. If you need to go back
for any Runes, you may not be able to find arrows anywhere. So, a good supply,
is
a good idea!]

After shooting the Skull, check to the left of the steps (in the arrow room).
You
will find a Life Potion (500) on the floor. Now, go up the steps, and place the
Aquamarine Gem onto the Pedestal. A cut-scene will take over, showing a new door
opening.

After you place the Aquamarine Gem, instead of going back down, through the
Arrow
Room, go to the left of the Gem Pedestal. You will follow a small path, where
you
will discover a Power Potion. Continue to follow this path, until you return to
the Gems Room.

Area 3 (White Gem) - Top

From the Gems Room, enter the newly opened door, and follow the path. You will
come to a room, which has no doors. You will need to find a low wall, which you
can climb over.

You will enter a water-filled room, which appears to have two directions.
Straight ahead, or off to the right. The path straight ahead may seem like a
useful area, which just ends in disappointment, as you find it is a dead-end. No
problem, just remember the area, and then continue to follow the path off to the
right.

You will go down a set of stairs, and into a large room. At the end of the path,
you will see the next Pedestal, but there is not a bridge to cross. On the wall,
you will find 2 buttons that you can press. When you press the buttons, the
bridge will slide under the Pedestal, towards the left. Once the bridge has
completely extended to the left, it will return to its starting position on the
right.

To deal with this situation, back up from the 2 buttons, and look to your right.
You will find a couple stones that you can climb. When you climb up to the area
above, you will find a long, curving path, that eventually ends on the left side
of the Pedestal. You will need to press both of the buttons, to get the bridge
moving. Then you need to rapidly climb the stones, race around the upper level,
and reach the bridge before it begins to retract to its starting position.

Cross the bridge, and place the White Opal onto the Pedestal. Another cut-scene
will take over, showing the effects of the door that you unlocked. This time
around, not only did you open a door, you unleashed hordes of Goblins and Orcs.
The cut-scene will show them flooding into the Temple, and taking control over
the area. The wall will then crumble away, allowing you to cross to the other
side of the Gem Pedestal, and continue on, through a new direction.

=The new path is very simple. It is pretty much, straight forward. However, you
will need to fight lots and lots of Goblins and Orcs. I'll just give you a quick
run-down on what's in store.

= The first room that you enter, will have 2 (L18ish) Goblins. Both are wielding
Scimitars, which can do tons of damage with each attack. Both of these Goblins
have Life Potions (150).

= The second room that you enter, will have 2 Goblins, and 1 Orc. They will
attack from small hiding spots, but will not ambush (you see them coming).
Again,
the 2 Goblins are well equipped, and both have Life Potions (150). The Orc
wields
a "Snake Sword" (Poison), and holds a Life Potion (1000).

= The third room that you enter, will have 2 more Goblins, and another Orc.
Again... All of these guys are very well equipped. One of the Goblins has a Life
Potion (150), and the Orc has another Life Potion (1000).

= The fourth room that you come to, will have 4 Goblin Archers. You can not get
up to them, and the exp is not worth trying to snipe them. Just run past them,
and continue on.

= At the end of all of this, you will reach the "Button Room". Remember? This is
the room where you shot the button, which lowered the steps, and opened the door
up on the ledge. In this room, there will be 2 Goblins. Both are (L20ish). One
of
them holds a Life Potion (150) and the other holds a Life Potion (500).

Anyway, the gate that blocked you at the bottom of the steps, is now open. Go
down, and enter the room. At the back of this room, there is a Minotaur. Kill
the
Minotaur, and then check the stone at the back of the room. There, you will find
a Power Potion, and a Bracelet. Once you are done, exit this room, back to the
Button Room, and climb back up the collapsed pillar. On the ledge, you will
fight
2 more Goblins. One of them has a Life Potion (150).

Now, return to the Gem Room, and take the path, which lead towards the White Gem
(3rd Gem Path, the one which had the bridge). I mentioned it at the start of
the "White Gem" Path. It is the area, which seemed useful, but just ended in a
dead-end. Also, if you remember from the cut-scene when you placed the White Gem
on the Pedestal, this is the area where the Goblins are Orcs busted through,
when
they entered the Temple. When you enter the Gem Room, 2 Orcs will attack. One of
them holds a Life Potion (1000), and the other holds a Life Potion (Full).

Area 4 (Black Gem) - Top

Return to the Gem Room, and take the path that leads to the White Gem. When you
near the steps from the Gem Room, 2 Orcs will attack you. As mentioned above,
both hold a Life Potion (one Life Potion (1000), and one Life Potion (Full).
Kill
the Orcs, and continue into the room which had the wall that you needed to climb
over.

When you climb over the wall, into the water-filled room, 4 Goblins will begin
pelting you with arrows. Run past them, straight ahead. Do not take the door to
the left (which leads to the White Gem Pedestal). Instead, enter the area, which
had the dead-end from the Area 3 Chapter.

Enter the area and then you will see the collapsed wall that the Goblins and
Orcs
broke through, when they infiltrated the Temple. When you near the collapsed
wall, a (L18ish) Minotaur will come out of the hole, and will attack. Kill the
Minotaur, and enter the collapsed wall.

You will enter into a new room. The room is somewhat large in size, but is
limited to one path for the moment. Head to the left, and enter the room that is
attached to this one. There will be 2 entrances, both leading into the same
room,
and both have a "floor-switch" in the doorway. In the back of the room, you will
see a set of stairs, leading up to the final "Gem Pedestal".

Now... This is a trap, which a lot of people have emailed asking how to get
past.
If you run up the stairs, a sharp arc of lightning will spring from the wall,
electrocuting and killing you. What you will need to do, is stand on the two
floor-switches that are in the 2 doorways. One of the switches will open the
door
to the Gem Pedestal, and the other will open a door covering a Conduit Gem
(which
will attract the Lightning Arc). The problem is, you must be standing on
the "Conduit Floor-Switch" for the Conduit Gem door to open. When you step off
of
the floor-switch, the door will close over the Conduit Gem.

If you look next to the Conduit Floor-Switch, you will see a wooden support
beam.
The other floor-switch does not have this support beam. You need to attack the
wooden support beam, causing the doorway to cave-in, and continually press the
Conduit Gem Floor Switch. You will need to attack the support beam many times,
before it will break. As you are attacking the support beam, you can see it
begin
to crack more and more, before it eventually breaks.

With the Conduit Gem Floor-Switch held down, by the collapsed doorway, you can
now safely go up the stairs. Place the Black (Obsidian) Gem on the Pedestal, and
then a cut-scene will show another door opening. The newly opened door, is in
the
room which lead into this room. Just turn around, and go straight ahead. You
can't miss it.

Area 5 (The Path to Ianna) - Top

After placing the Black Gem, turn around, and enter the newly opened door. You
will find a water filled room, which has a platform in the center of it. There
is
a ramp, which leads up to the platform. You will need to run up this ramp, and
jump over the gap, to reach the top of the platform.

On the "roof / floor" of the platform, there is a hole. You need to drop into
this hole, and then follow the obvious path. Along the way, you will fight 3
(L15) Skeletons. Continue on, and you will eventually come to a room which has 3
large Elephant Statues, and a small gate on the right side.

[Potion: When you enter the Elephant Statue room, check around a corner, on the
LEFT hand side of the room. You can find a Life Potion (Full). Thanks to Theodax
and Trigga Happy for the info.]

[Trick: If you peek through the gate (and bang on it a little), a Dark Knight
will come and try to attack you. Chances are, he will not make it to the gate,
but he may fall off of the ledge, and then "bug-out" in the water-filled room
below. This works well because often, the Dark Knight will not attack at all
when
you reach him.]

Enter the pathway between the Elephant statues. You will find a small square
shaped hole. Drop into the hole, where you will enter a large water-filled room.
Cross the room, to the other side. On the wall, you will find 2 triggers, or
buttons. Press both of these buttons, and the walls will lower enough, so that
you can climb them.

Climb up the walls, and then turn around. You will find a set of stairs, in-
between the 2 walls that you climbed up. At the top of these stairs, you will
enter the room, which you could see from the gate in the Elephant Statue room.
There will be a (L25) Dark Knight on the center bridge. This Dark Knight has a
Life Potion (1000) and is equipped with a Skull Shield.

As you are fighting the Dark Knight, the noise will alert another (L25) Dark
Knight, and a (L25) Minotaur. If you manage to kill the first Dark Knight,
without alerting the second Dark Knight and the Minotaur, then when you try to
cross the room, they will then attack you. The second Dark Knight is also
holding
a Life Potion (1000), and has a Skull Shield.

[Trick: The Dark Knight and the Minotaur will not exit the "Bridge Room". Once
you have attracted them, fall back a little, until they clump up at the doorway.
You can then walk right up next to them, and attack at will. If you step into
the
doorway, then they will counter attack.]

Area 6 (Flame Room) - Top

With the Dark Knights and the Minotaur out of the way, cross the Bridge Room,
and
continue to follow the path. You will eventually come to a ledge, with a water-
filled room below. Drop down, and continue forward. You will find a small wall,
that you can climb over. When you climb the wall, 2 Skeletons will attack you.
Kill them, and then continue forward, where you will find another climbable
wall.
Climb over this wall, and then a Flesh Golem will come around the corner and
attack. Kill the Flesh Golem, and then continue forward, where you will again,
come to a small climbable wall. Climb this wall, and then follow the obvious
path.

Eventually, you will come to the "Flame Room". This is the room that was shown
in
each of the 4 cut-scenes when you places the Gems on the Pedestals. As you enter
the room, a Chaos Knight will appear, and then attacks.

The Chaos Knight is not a fellow who you want to mess around with. First off,
the
Chaos Knight will fire attack spells at you, if you are at a distance from him.
You will need to close in, and get into melee range, so that he will use his
attacks, instead of his spells. Once in melee range, the Chaos Knight has a huge
sword, that is capable of reaching you from quite a distance. He also holds a
huge shield, which covers half of his body, and blocks most of your attacks.
With
all of that said, the Chaos Knight is an easy opponent. Must the same as with
the
Minotaurs and the Golems, you just need to lock on, and keep circling. Try to
stay to his left side (your right side, the same side as the Chaos Knights
shield). Wait for him to attack, and then counter attack. Try to use a combo
whenever you have a chance. The Weapon Specific Combos (Red Trails) work very
well.

Once you defeat the Chaos Knight, check the right hand corner of the room. The
Corner that is furthest from the fire, and closest to the door to this room. You
will find a Life Potion (500). Once you have the Life Potion, walk up to the
Fire
Pots, and then enter the room beyond. In the back of this room, you will find
the
Sword of Ianna. The Prize of the Goddess. When you grab the Sword of Ianna, the
area will be complete.

Missing Runes - Top

When you finish the Temple of Ianna, you will return to the World Map. If you
are
missing any of the 6 Runes, you will now have a chance to return for them. If
you
press your left key, while on the World Map, you will be able to return to the
areas where you missed a Rune. If there is no Rune in an area, or if you have
already found a Rune in an area, then you will not be able to go to those
locations. Only the Locations that you missed a Rune in, will be available.
Anyway, now is your chance.

When you do return to the areas, they will have changed slightly. The map is
still the same, but the enemies have changed. Anyway, here are the areas which
have runes, and the Runes that they hold.

Tower of Dal Gurak

The Tower of Dal Gurak... The source of all of your problems. You venture on, in
hopes of putting an end to all of the evil that spread across the land.
Continuing on as Iannas Chosen one, or perhaps not...

For those who lack one or more of the Secret Runes, this is the final fight;
the
end of the evil. For Iannas Chosen ones, this is only the "beginning" of
the "end".

[Note: This area is difficult to give a straight through walkthrough. You can do
the level however you like. There is a "split" decision that you will need to
make, and the choice will effect what you experience through the rest of the
area. This walkthrough will guide you through the entire area, covering both
paths. Though we point you in a direction, if you do not feel up to it, you can
just continue to the end of the area. This will be more clear later in the
walkthrough (We are trying not to spoil it all right here).]

Getting Started (Choices...) - Top

When you begin at the Tower of Dal Gurak, you will be stationed on a cliffs
edge,
looking towards the path ahead. If you look over the cliff, it looks as if you
may be able to drop down. Resist this temptation. If you go over the edge, you
WILL die.

To make things simple... Just follow the given path, straight ahead. You will
enter a cave, which has 2 Goblins camping out by a fire. There is also an Orc,
who is hiding just around the corner. If you draw the Goblins out, from a
distance, the Orc will not come with the Goblins.

Kill the 2 Goblins, and then kill the Orc. If you missed the Killer Axe, or the
Scimitar, then here is a second chance. One of the Goblins drops a Scimitar, and
the Orc has a Killer Axe.

From here, follow the path until it ends at the foot of the Tower Of Dal Gurak.
There will be a distinct lava moat surrounding the Tower, and a obvious path off
to the left.

This is where the Choices come in. You can follow this obvious path, off to the
left, or you can take the path to the right. For the second path, you will need
to jump across the lava, and then drop down to a door on the other side.

What's the difference?

Well, The path to the left will have more monsters to fight than the path on the
right will have. The path on the right will lead you to more items/weapons.
However, there is a trick to do both, if you follow the path to the left.

Which should you take?

I suggest the left (obvious) path. Normally, this would be a bad idea because
you
would miss out on the "best (or better)" items/weapons, but we have a trick for
you. There is a way to get to both paths, if you follow the Left Hand path
first.
If you are happy with your current weapons and/or exp, and you just want to get
through this area, then you can take whichever path you like.

For this walkthrough, we will assume that you want to kill everything, and that
you want to find everything. We will cover the Left path, and the Right path,
and
then we will tell you how to do both in the same game.

Area 1 (Left Path - "Suggested") - Top

Ok... So now you are going to follow the path to the left. If you followed the
path to the right, against our suggestions, then jump ahead and read Area 2.

Anyway, continue to follow the path, until you run into 2 Goblins. There will be
a Dark Knight Archer above you, who will fire poison tipped arrows in your
direction. Kill the 2 Goblins as quickly as you can. When both are dead, a door
will open. Enter the door.

A Dark Knight will come to attack you. The Dark Knight has a Snake Sword, a
Skull
Shield, and a Life Potion (1000). Just behind this Dark Knight, you will find a
spiral staircase, leading upwards.

There will be two more Dark Knights on the spiral stairs. Both of which will
have
a Skull Shield, and a Life Potion (1000). That's 3 Life Potion (1000) in all.
Drink one after killing the 3 Knights, and then pick up the 3rd so that you will
have a full supply of 1000's. As an added bonus for the Knight (Sargon), the
first of these two Dark Knights will have a Heavy Sword!

Continue up the spiral stairs, and then enter the room at the top. The door will
slam shut, locking you in, and two Minotaurs will rush into the room from an
outside area. Combos work well against these Mino's, and getting out of the way
of their attacks will help a lot as well.

[Potion: If you need to heal during this fight, then use your Life Potion
(1000)'s. You will find more 1000's later.]

When you kill both of the Minotaurs, a small door will open in the same room,
and a Dark Knight will come out to attack you. This Dark Knight will have a
Skull
Shield, Life Potion (1000), and he will have a "Double Sword" (Sargon).

Now, enter the stairs that the Dark Knight came out of, and go up to the top.
Here, you will find another Dark Knight and a Lever on the wall. Kill the
Knight,
and then pull the Lever to open the large door below you.

Before you enter the large door that you opened, return to the room where you
fought the 2 Minotaurs, and then go outside. Near a skeletal corpse, behind a
large rock at the end of the path, you will find a Life Potion (1000).

With the Potion found, return to the "large door that you opened", and enter it.
Cross the bridge, and follow the obvious path. You will go up a set of stairs
which has a room at the top. When you enter this room, the door will slide shut,
locking you in. Three Goblins, and an Orc will then flood into the room to
attack. This can be a difficult fight due to the cramped hallway, and close-
quarters combat. When you kill the Orc and the Goblins, another door will open,
allowing you to exit to a new room.

The room with the Goblins and the Orc is the room where the "Right Hand" path
(from the start of the Area, under the heading Choices) reconnects with the
"Left
Hand" path. However, the door to the Left Hand path is closed off to you, and
can
not be opened from this side.

[Note: Area 2 details the Left path from "Choices". To follow this walkthrough
using the suggested path, skip ahead to Area 3, and then read back to Area 2 as
needed.]

Area 2 (Right path) - Top

From the start of the area, move forward, killing 2 Goblins, and then an Orc. A
little further ahead, you will find a lava moat, at the base of the Tower of Dal
Gurak. The obvious path leads off to the left, but there is a "hidden" path
towards the right. To get to it, you will need to jump over the lava moat,
landing on the small "platform" to the right. From the platform, you will need
to
look over the ledge, and towards the Tower. You should see a set of stairs below
you. Drop down, and into the opening of the stairs. Be careful not to fall into
the lava while doing all of this.

Now, follow the obvious path, until you come to a room full of a greenish acidic
fluid. You will also see a collapsed bridge, and if you look closely, you can
spot a Dark Knight on the other side of this bridge.

Anyway, the bridge is out, so you will need to find another way around. Begin
by
walking past the bridge, until the path ends. You should see a series of stones
in the acid. You will need to jump from stone to stone, until you land on the
ground, under the opposite side of the bridge. From here, you will need to jump
on top of a rock, and then jump up to the ledge above you.

Pull yourself up to the ledge, and then attack the Dark Knight. Another Dark
Knight will come to assist the first, so be ready to fight them both. Once the
Dark Knights are out of the way, follow the obvious path, until you come to an
outside area.

When you step outside, you will be on a ledge, which is guarded by 2 Dark
Knights. Back at the beginning of this area, just after killing the 2 Goblins
and
the Orc, at the lava moat, you may have noticed 2 Dark Knights above you, who
were firing arrows. Well those two Knights are the same two Knights that are in
front of you here. Furthermore, one of these 2 Knights has the "Armory Key", and
a "Sharp Sword". You will need the Armory Key to get into the Armory...

Continue following the outside ledge, fighting another Dark Knight, and then
entering a cave, through a broken gate. Inside of this cave, you will fight
5 "Critters". Kill them all with a few low chops (Attack + Back in most cases).
Once the Critters are out of the way, look to the right hand wall, where you
should find two sewer drains, which you can climb up.

After climbing up the sewer drain, check the room for the "Heater Shield (8000
Resistance)", which can be found near the barrels. Continue to search the room,
until you find a Lever on the back wall. Pull the Lever to open the door.

When you enter the door, it will close shut behind you, and then 3 Goblins and
an Orc will attack from a small room off to the side. This can be a rough fight,
if you are not expecting it. You are in a tightly cramped area, with little room
to move. When you kill the 3 Goblins and the Orc, a door will open, allowing you
an exit from the room.

The Room where the Goblins and the Orc ambush you in, is also the "intersection"
with the path to the Left from the start of this area (Area 1).

Area 3 (Both... The Left and Right paths) - Top

After the Goblin and Orc ambush room (at the end of Area 1 and Area 2), enter
the
door that opened, and step through it. Again, the door will close behind you,
but
this time, a Stone Golem is the attacker. You will also need to deal with 2 Dark
Knight Archers that are above the room. To simplify things, lure the Stone Golem
under the Dark Knights, and fight him there. The Dark Knights can not fire
arrows
directly downwards, so they will be "out of the equation".

When you kill the Stone Golem, a new door will open, allowing you to continue.
As
you step through the door, a cut-scene will take over, showing Dal Gurak
overlooking your forward progress. When the cut-scene is over, move forward, and
break the wooden boxes to locate a Life Potion (150). Outside of this room, you
will find 2 Dark Knights. When you break the boxes, the Knights will hear the
sound, and then come to investigate. Kill them both, and then step outside.

It is here, that you can get to the "Right Hand" path from Choices. To do this,
look over the edge, from the outside area (where the Knights were at). You
should
see a ledge, and as many as 2 Dark Knights below. You can drop down from here.
The closest Dark Knight is holding the Armory Key and a "Sharp Sword". You can
go
to the left from there, towards the acid room, killing 2 more Dark Knights, and
then double back to follow the obvious path.

If you have little desire to locate better weapons, then do not drop off to the
ledge below. Just skip ahead, and read Area 4. If you do drop off, then read
Area 2, but understand that you are entering the area from about the middle,
instead of the start.

Area 4 (Dark Knights / Armory) - Top

Ok... With the Choices covered, and also each choice together, we will jump back
to the Stone Golem room, and pick up from there...

When the Stone Golem dies, a door will open, allowing you an exit from the room.
When you step through it, Dal Gurak will appear, just long enough to add
suspense
to the exiting of the room. When the cut-scene is over, move directly forward
and
break the 3 wooden boxes to locate a Life Potion (150). The noise of breaking
the
3 boxes will alert 2 Dark Knights who are waiting outside. Kill them both, and
then step outside.

This time, do not drop off the ledge. Instead, just continue straight ahead, and
up a set of stairs at the end of the path. At the top of the stairs, you will
enter the room above the Stone Golem room. You will now be able to kill the Dark
Knight Archers. In this room, you will fight up to as many as 4 Dark Knights at
the same time. If you fight only 2 Dark Knights, you can be sure that the others
are nearby.

To the left in this room you will find another room, which has a Life Potion
(1000) on the floor. Go pick it up, and then return to the first room to
continue
forward. You will then enter a room which has a door, and a collapsed staircase.
On top of the stairs there are 2 Dark Knight Archers. You can get up to them,
but
it is very difficult, and will take many jumping attempts. Besides the 2 Dark
Knights, there is nothing at the top of the stairs (a dead-end). So, instead of
wasting time, just use the Ianna Sword. Lock on to each of the Dark Knights, and
then throw the sword at them.

After the broken staircase, enter the door under the stairs. You will fight 2
more Dark Knights here. You can also find a piece of Meat on the table. Continue
forward, where you will cross through a room with a Dark Knight Archer above
you.
Just keep going, into the next room, where you will run into a Minotaur. Kill
the
Minotaur, and then enter the small elevator. Pull the lever and ride up to the
second floor.

At this point, you will find a staircase leading up, and a path continuing
forward. Under the stairs, in the dark, you can find a Life Potion (500).
Directly across from the stairs, on a small railing, you can find a Ghost
Medallion. To get to the Medallion, you will need to go up the stairs, and then
drop down on top of it.

You will need to go up the stairs in order to continue forward through the
Tower,
but before doing that, explore the path that continues past the stairs. In the
next room, you will find a collapsed floor. If you jump across the hole in the
floor, you will then be able to see the "Armory Lock". Open and enter the
Armory,
where you will find the "Demon Spear", "Shark Sword", "Doom Hammer", "Heavy
Sword", "Blood Sword", "Knight Heavy Armor", "Dwarf Medium Armor", "Amazon Light
Armor", and the "Barbarian Light Armor". After looting what you will, exit the
Armory, and return to the stairs mentioned at the start of this paragraph.

Area 5 (The Fire Skeletons) - Top

Return to the stairs, and then go up. Follow the obvious path, until you come to
a dark room. When you enter the dark room, 2 Steel Golems will step up from the
darkness to attack. This isn't an easy fight, but it isn't too difficult either.
When both of the Steel Golems die, a door will open, allowing you to continue
ahead.

Follow the path, until you come to a set of stairs. Follow the stairs up, and
enter the next dark room. Two Fire Skeletons will then attack you. After you
kill
both of the Skeletons, the wall will slide back, allowing you to continue. You
will need to fight 2 more Fire Skeletons, opening another wall, and then fight 2
more... After the 6th Skeleton of the bunch dies, a final wall will open, and
out
will step a 7th Skeleton. Kill it, and then continue into the next room.

Again, this room will be dark, illuminated only by a small fire in the center.
As
you step further into the room, two Fire Skeletons will hop out of the fire, and
then attack. You will need to fight 6 Fire Skeletons in this room, but there
will
be only 2 active at a time. When you kill one, another will crawl out of the
fire.

Once all 6 Fire Skeletons are dead, the room will brighten up, allowing you to
see much better. You will need to see, because the only escape is to locate a
low
stone, which to climb up on. When you do climb up, you will then need to jump
from stone to stone, to reach the door. You may also be interested in a "Crown"
which is in the corner, opposite of the exiting door.

Exit the door, and then follow the path...

Area 6 (The Ghouls) - Top

After exiting the Fire Skeleton room, follow the obvious path. You will go up a
set of stairs, and then the door will slam shut behind you. Two Ghouls will then
rush towards you, and attempt to slash and burn you to death. Take them out!
After you kill one of the Ghouls, a Fire Golem will open a door in the back of
the room, and then he will join in the fight. Once both of the Ghouls are dead
and the Fire Golem has been extinguished, enter the door that the Fire Golem
opened.

You will find yourself in a lava filled room. To the right, you should see a
staircase. You will need to jump over the lava, and then go up these stairs. At
the top, you will see a small walkway, which will have two Fire Skeleton Archers
standing guard at the end. You can take them out melee, or by throwing the Ianna
Sword at them. Once they are dead, cross the walkway, and enter the next room.

You will find that there is a large crack in the floor, with lava below. Jump
over the crack, and enter the walkway on the other side. You will need to fight
2
more Fire Skeleton Archers on this walkway. Once they are out of the way, follow
the walkway into the next room.

When you enter the room, the door will close behind you, and 2 Ghouls will
attack. Actually, you will need to fight a total of 6 Ghouls in this room. Every
time that you kill a Ghoul, a new one will enter the room and attack. You will
fight only 2 at a time, until you have killed all 6.

When the Ghouls are dead, locate the door exiting the room. You will see a few
broken steps in the air, above the lava. This is easy to get past... Just jump
onto the first step, and then move to the second. Jump to climb onto the second,
and then jump across the lava to the third. Climb up to the top of these steps,
and then turn around. You will find a Life Potion (1000) on the ledge, right
next
to the top step.

Once you are up the steps, and after you have found the Life Potion (1000),
continue to follow the obvious path. While walking, keep your eyes on the
ground.
Look for the skeletal corpses. At the first corpse, right by the steps, you will
find a Life Potion (Full). You will find 3 more skeletal corpses, each having a
Life Potion (500) near them. Once you have found all 5 Life Potions, locate and
go up the stairs, found at the end of the path.

At the top of the stairs, you will find a walkway leading to a elevator. While
crossing the walkway, keep an eye on the left hand side. The second "support" on
the left has a Life Potion (1000) tucked up against the walkway (there is a
skeletal corpse as well). Now, head for the elevator. Before you use the
elevator, check behind it for a fourth Life Potion (500). Assuming that you had
no Life Potions when you climbed up the "lava steps", then you should have found
a full supply now. We picked up 1 Full, 2 1000's, and 4 500's.

Now may be a good time to save your game. When you are ready to continue, step
onto the elevator, and ride it up.

Area 7 (Meskalamdug and Dal Gurak) - Top

When you ride the elevator up, a cut-scene will take over. When the cut-scene is
over, Meskalamdug will attack you...

Meskalamdug (Meska for short) Is huge, and has a lot of hit points. He fights a
lot like the Ghouls, but without the ability to teleport around. He will slice
you with his hooked arm, he will blow fire at you when you give him the chance,
and he will cast a fire ring if you get too close to him.

To make the fight a little easier, I suggest that you lock on to Meska, and then
get in really close to him. At this point, he will try to attack you, but will
be
unable to. So, he will cast a fire ring spell to flush you out from under him.
You can handle the fire ring spell, so just stay under him and do a combo or
two.
Then, you can run away from him while your energy recharges. If you have the
Crown, you can turn up your fire resistance at the start of this fight, which
will cause you to take even less damage from the fire attacks.

Once Meska is dead, locate the door in the back of the room. On the wall, you
should find a Lever. Pull the lever to right the elevator up. At the top of the
elevator, Dal Gurak will summon 6 Skeletons to attack you. Each of these
skeletons has a Vampire Shield equipped. Once the Skeletons are dead, Dal Gurak
will appear, and fight you himself.
