1. Introduction
---------------------------------
Welcome to my Tiger Woods 99 FAQ for the PC. I got this game about a year ago
and played it for about 6 months straight until I mastered the game. It's been
about 6 months since I played this game. So why did I decide to make this FAQ?
Because no one else has made one on the game. This is a great golfing game for
the PC. Hope you enjoy this FAQ and please read the Legal Information section
before posting this on your site. Thanks.

2. Update History
---------------------------------
November 27, 1999 - Everything is up. There will probably be no more updates
because I have covered everything. I might update this if I get some e-mail
about this FAQ. Hope you like it.
---------------------------------
3. Game Modes
---------------------------------
There are many modes of play that you can do to keep you entertained. Here I
have listed all of them with a brief explanation.
Practice - Pick a hole that you are struggling with and practice at it. This is
where you can shoot some balls just to see if you have the skill to play a
tournament mode.
Stroke Play - This is a basic round of golf. You try to complete a round with
the fewest strokes competing against par. It's fun to play with friends and
stuff.
Tournament - This is the greatest option ever. Compete with 20 other golfers in
1, 2, or 4 rounds. This is as real as it can get.
Skins Game - Two to four players play this. The goal is to win as many holes
possible. It doesn't matter if you win a hole by 1 or 5 strokes.
Shoot Out - Four players line up to play three holes. The player that gets the
highest score is eliminated. It keeps on going like that until there is a
winner.
Match Play - A one on one game to see who wins the most holes by posting a lower
score.
Four Ball - Three to four players play this. The goal is to have you or your
teammate post the lowest score.
Foursomes - Just like match play but with three to four players.
Driving Range - Having trouble driving? Then you came to the right place.
Practice your swing.
Chipping Green - Having trouble chipping or bumping and running? Then you came
to the right place. Practice it.
Putting Green - Having trouble putting? Then put and see how you do.
---------------------------------
4. Courses
---------------------------------
There are three courses in the game. Here I have listed them and my feelings on
each of the three courses.
Pebble Beach - A hard golf course that gets boring after a while. The first
time you play you will be amazed by the beautiful scenary. It seems like an
average golf course with nothing appealing more than its scenary.
TPC At Sawgrass - My favorite course in the game. The 17th hole is so fun to
play that you will just die to get there. It's an island green that is like 120
yards from the tee off. A great course with some three par holes.
TPC At Summerlin - Like desert? Then you came to the right place. It's a great
course that gets overlooked easily. You have a slight margin of error to win
the match. It's a hard but fun course to play.
---------------------------------
5. Golfers
---------------------------------
You can play with 8 people in this game. Here I have listed who they are.
Tiger Woods
Janzen
O'Meara
Faxon
Jacobsen
Stadler
Kite
Love

6. Personal Review
---------------------------------
On my 14th birthday I got this game. I loved the game. I was pretty crappy in
the beginning but after getting use to the game I became great. I played this
game for 6 months until it got pretty old. (there are only 3 courses)
Gameplay: 9/10 - There's tons of modes to play. You can play in a tournament
mode, match play, practice mode, go to the driving range, and a lot more. There
are 8 golfers you can be and there are 3 courses you can play on. It takes a
while to master so you will be playing for a while.
Graphics - 8/10 - The graphics are nice but there are not exceptional. The
golfers look pretty real, but the animation doesn't look that good. The courses
are nicely designed and look exactly like they do in real life.
Sound - 7/10 - Not much sound in this game. You will probably have tv on when
playing this game. But you have to think, do golf games suppose to have a lot
of sound? I don't think so.
Replay Value - 8/10 - This game will take a long time to master. Once you beat
all the modes of gameplay, then you will probably put this game on your shelf.
It's fun for about 6 months, but then you will never play it again. Even if you
are a die hard golf fan.
Overall - 8/10 - A quality golf game. If you like sim golf games then you
should pick this game up. It's pretty old though, so you shouldn't pay more
than 30 bucks for it. It's a great game to have if you like computer games.
