1. Start out by staying out of the corners and by creating a line of diagonal
pieces. This will give you the most flixibility and the maximum number of
available options.
2.. Early on I create patterns that contain areas that require pieces with two
or more colors. Sooner or later, the system will generate a "Wildcard" piece,
and if I create sufficient opportunities, I'll be able to put this Wildcard to
its best use - instead of wasting it on a "single color" match.
3. I've also learned to keep the four sides open. I only use them if a piece
does not fit elsewhere. This will leave me with an "open door" towards the end
of the game when I'm running out of options.
