Miniature Railroad
Construction: Narrow-guage railroad track, with miniature passenger trains.
Maximum track slope: 25 degrees

Monorail
Construction: Track is a box-section steel rail supported on square-section
steel posts. Trains are powered and run along the top of the rail with

Suspended Monorail

Ghost Train
Construction: track has a central guide rail, and can be constructed above

Flying Saucers
Construction: Air is kept under pressure beneath the floor, entering the flying
saucer cars through valves in the floor. The cars then float on the cushion

Construction: Track is laminated wood, topped with a flat steel running rail,
constructed on a wooden support structure. Trains are guided along the track
by side-friction wheels running inside wooden guide rails.

Max. Height above ground: 78ft
Vehicles: Wooden Side-Friction Cars
Other Info: Cheap and easy to build, but the track layout needs to be designed
carefully, otherwise the cars can fly straight off the track on the hills.

Virginia Reel
Construction: Track is a flat-bottomed wooden trough. The cars are guided
along the track by the sides of the trough, spinning as they touch the sides.
Maximum track slope: 25 degrees

Other Info: Design the track layout with as many corners as possible to keep
the circular cars spinning.

Wooden Reverser

constructed on a wooden support structure. Cars run on bogies guided along
the track by side-friction wheels running. Special sections of track are used
to turn the car around, allowing it to run backwards.

constructed on a wooden support structure. Trains are held on the track by

mushroom shaped pegs running between steel guide rails in the center of the
track, allowing the cars to tilt over corners.

Other Info: A good Crazy Rodent Roller Coaster is all about tight turns and

of tubular steel running rails. Supports are large tubular steel posts. Trains

Suspended Looping
Construction: Track has a tubular steel spine, connected to the outside edge of
tubular steel running rails. Supports are large tubular steel posts. Trains
hang underneath the track, held in position by wheels above, below, and inside
the running rails.

Other Info: The Suspended looping coaster allows compact track layouts and

Suspended Single-Rail
Construction: Track is a single tubular steel rail, supported by tubular steel
posts. Cars hang from the rail, swinging freely from side to side.
Maximum track slope: 25 degrees

Vehicles: Single-Person Swinging Chairs, Lying-Down Swinging Cars

Single-Rail
Construction: Track consists of two tubular steel rails, one above the other
connected by bracing. Supports are thin tubular steel posts. Cars are held on
the track by wheels above, below and either side of the rails.
Maximum track slope: 25 degrees
Lift hill maximum slope: 25 degrees
Max. Height above ground: 59ft
Vehicles: Horses, Motorbikes
Other Info: An exciting ride, as the riders feel vulnerable sitting so high
above the track. Corners have no banking, so be careful to avoid high lateral
G's.

Bobsled
Construction: Track is a semi-circular channel, supported by tubular steel
posts. Cars run on small wheels, and are free to take their own course along
the track, guided only y the curvature and gradient of the channel.

Maximum track slope: 25 degrees

Other Info: Track layout requires very careful planning, as cars can crash of
the track at the crests of hills if it is going to fast.

Heartline Twister
Construction: Track consists of tubular steel running rails running through
circular steel hoops. Cars run centrally between the rails, allowing heartline
twists.
Special track elements: Heartline Roll
Maximum track slope: 60 degrees
Lift hill maximum slope: 60 degrees
Max. Height above ground: 95ft
Vehicles: Twister Cars, Twister Cars (Reversed)
Other Info: Due to the constraints of the track and car design, corners are not
possible, so build a complete circuit special transfer tracks are used to
transfer between a lower and an upper track.

Flying
Construction: Track has a tubular steel spine, connected to the outside edges
of tubular steel running rails. Supports are large tubular steel posts. Trains
are held on the track by wheels below and inside the running rails.

On-Ride Photo
Banked Curves: 50 degree banking
Maximum track slope: 60 degrees

Other Info: To give the feeling of flight, the passengers ride in a lying-down
position. The track can twist to allow the riders to travel face-up with the
track below them, or suspended face-down with the track above them.

Reverse Whoa Belly
Construction: Car runs on steel girder tracks. The car is accelerated out of
the station, along level track using Linear Induction Motors. It then coasts
up the vertical section of track, and free-falls backwards down the track to
return to the station.
Maximum track slope: 90 degrees
Vehicles: Reverse Whoa Belly Car
Other Info: The ultimate speed of this ride is controlled by the length of the
straight track - to achieve maximum speed, a very long length of acceleration
track must be built before the slope upwards.

Vertical
Construction: Track has a square section steel spine, connected to the inside
edges of tubular steel running rails. Supports are large square section steel
posts. Trains are held on the track by wheels above, below, and outside the
running rails.

Vertical drop
Banked Curves: 50-degree banking

Other Info: Gives a smooth ride with limited scope for special track, but
allows vertical track to be built.

Air Powered Vertical
Construction: Track consists of steel of steel girders. Trains run on rubber
tires to give a smooth ride, with up-stop wheels below.
Special Track Elements: Banked Curve, Vertical Track
Maximum track slope: 90 degrees

Other Info: The train is launched out of the station by an air-powered launch
system. To achieve a comfortable ride, the launch speed should be carefully
chosen so the train is travelling at a minimum speed over the crest of the
hill.

Gravitron
Construction: Gondola is suspended by large rotating arms at each side. The
supporting arms can both move the gondola and rotate it upside down in a preset
sequence.

Roto-Drop
Construction: The ring of seats is pulled up to the top of the tower while
gently rotating, then allowed to free-fall down, stopping gently at the bottom
using magnetic brakes.

Enterprise
Construction: Passenger-carrying pods hand around the edge of the wheel, which
first starts spinning and then lifted up by a supporting arm.

Water Slide
Construction: Track is a semi-circular plastic channel with a small amount of
water running along it. Boats slide along the track, assisted by the flow of
water.

Vehicles: Dinghies
Other Info: A good Water Slide requires at least one steep drop, but can be
extended into a complex layout, so long as care is taken on the crests of hills,
as dinghies can crash off track.

Jet Skis
Construction: Jet SKis loading platform is built on a lake.

Log Flume
Construction: Water Flume track supported by box-section steel supports. Boats
are propelled up slopes on rollers, and are then free to travel along the water
channel at their own pace.

River Rapids
Construction: Concrete water channel. Boats are free to take their own course

River Ride
Construction: Water channel is supported by steel lattice supports. The
large-capacity flat-bottomed boats are propelled up slopes on a conveyor belt,

Other Info: As well as creating a gentle themed river ride, the ride can be
used to create a thrilling splash ride if a steep drop is designed into the
layout.

Construction: Boat dock consists of wooden platforms built on a lake. Guide
tracks can be built to limit where passengers steer the boats.

Construction: Water channel is supported by steel lattice supports. The raft
