This is not exactly a cheat, but a way to create custom city terrain for
playing SIM CITY 3000. You may not be aware that SC3k does not give this
option. I have discovered that you can create the maps in SC2k and
transfer them to SC3k.
First I create my custom landscape (hills, river, trees, etc.) with the
SC2k "Terrain-Editing Mode". I then start the game for the newly create
city terrain (be sure it is paused). I then save the game in the
"cities" directory of SC2k. Also if you like you can you can use some
SC2k cheats to get extra cash before you "save as". this also gets saved
with the game. Next I go to "Windows Explorer" & locate the saved city
file which can be found in the "cities" folder of SC2k. Find the city
labeled with the name you saved the file with. Copy & paste or drag &<
drop this file to the "cities" folder in SC3k. Now after you have
transfered your city file, run SC3k and choose the "Load City" option.
You will find your custom city terrain map here to load & play. Before
you begin play, save the new city with a new but similar name so that
you can save the unused terrain for a new game (after spending time
creating it, it's a good idea to save it unmodified). Now you can begin
playing SIM CITY 3000 with your custom terrain.
