FAQ/WALKTHROUGH

This FAQ only contains the best way to finish the missions and as quickly
as possible. I've also tried to include how to get the best weapons but I'm
pretty sure I've missed certain of them. I haven't included the first
missions because these are pretty straightforward. Instead, I've only
covered the ones which will take you to the end of the game and in which
the plot evolves.

| BORA MISSIONS |

MISSION 1: Go forward until you are in the Independence section. Some ships
will come out and you need to protect these. When the Integrity
shows up, continue fending off the enemy vessels but as soon as
your shield is low, get out of here. Don't shoot at the turrets
on the big vessel. If you do so, they will aim at you and you
are no match for them. When you're done, go back to Alpha and
re-enter it. Once you've done this, you're officially a member
of Bora and you'll be rewarded with the CUTLASS.


MISSION 2: First, equip yourself with fairly strong weapons such as lasers
and rockets. You will be attacked by mines. Use your rockets to
destroy these. Once they're all destroyed, hang on to get some
info from McLean. Return to the base afterwards.


MISSION 3: Go to the industrial sector until you see a small cinematic. You
must then find a mine and destroy it. If you manage to destroy
it, all the others will stop shooting at you. Now, go to the
base for an item and go past Alpha until you see the Tycho Brahe.
Go to it and watch the door being repaired before returning to
Alpha.


MISSION 4: Go through the door. Fly as close as you can to the station and
locate the powerplant. Destroy it. Once it's destroyed, you'll
be attacked. Then, go to the Alpha door and jump in when the
Artemis shows up. Be quick or you will be killed. Return to the
base afterwards.


MISSION 5: Go the the industrial sector to station Drake and you'll get the
pack. Go to Wrecktown and you'll be attacked. Deal with those
first (you may get a bonus from one of them). Once the battle is
over, use Wrecktown to return to the base. You'll change sector
as from here.


MISSION 6: Go towards Onrald's Barony. When you're approached by bandits,
go through the door (the one which is not guarded!. You'll see
another 2 bandits, destroy them. You'll again see a whole bunch
of ships which you need to destroy. After the battle, take the
Laser Core and go back through the door. There are 2 more bandits
in here. Destroy them before returning to the base.


MISSION 7: Go towards Venture and destroy the powerplants there. When you
spot the Laser Core (the Valiant will release it), take it.
Then, return to the base.


MISSION 8: Go to the station after Point. When you pass through Skav, you'll
see a vehicle under attack. Help it by destroying the bandits for
a bonus.


MISSION 9: Return to Bora to accept this mission. Go past the 2 first zones
until you reach Portcullis. Go to the door. You should see the
Orpheus along with an escort. Take out the escort first. Be
careful not to go near the Orpheus because of the turrets. Once
you've eliminated the escort, go into the Orpheus until you reach
the engine. Ther is a computer inside which you msut destroy.
Return to the base afterwards.


MISSION 10: Go into the first and second sector to verify the buoys. Once
you've done this, return to your original location and stay
there. After some time, you'll be attacked by 6 vessels.
Destroy these and you'll complete the mission. It is a quite
tough battle but you should make it through, just keep an eye
on your shield.


MISSION 11: Go on until you see some asteroids. You'll also see Orion with
an escort. Destroy only the escort but be careful of the
destroyers, they will kill you in an instant. Once the escort
is destroyed, attack the 2 main ships. You must be very quick
though because they will try to go away. Once they're gone
(either way), return to the base.


MISSION 12: Go through the first area and you'll be attacked by Demons. Don't
try to fight them, just accelerate and get out of here as soon
as you can. Once you've gotten ou of the region, you'll see they
are still behind you. You can now destroy them. You will be
attacked by a couple more Demons, so take care of these too. Now,
locate the white laser and take it. Go through the door into the
next region and go on until you can return to the base. Don't try
to fight here, you will most certainly lose.


MISSION 13: Note that you need the EMP in this mission. You won't be able to
complete it if you don't have it. When you see the ship, use it
to take care of its escort, don't destroy them!! You will now
be chased by 2 ships, destroy them. Now, go to the main ship
and remain on it for your new destination. Get away from it when
it enters in hyper-space and give it to Malkar so that you can
return to the base for your money.


MISSION 14: You must take Nolt Lieber in this mission. Go on and destroy the
ships you'll see eventually. Here, Nolt will talk to the people
and convince them to join forces with you. Once he's talked to
them, the mission is over.
(If you don't take Nolt with you, you will have to fight a huge
number of enemies and this is very tough. You will also recieve
much money, so it isn't worth it!)


MISSION 15: Go through the first sectors and examine the buoys. Keep going
forward until you are in Mercy. Here, you'll be attacked by
a bunch of chasers. Just destroy them and go back to Freedom
to complete this mission. It's that simple!


MISSION 16: You have to buy a radiation screen before. When you begin, go
forward until you meet the professor. Go onto his path to take
the scanner and go towards Dusk. There will be violet arrows to
guide you here, just follow thel. You'll eventually see 3 sites.
Go onto each one for a scanner and return to the base.


MISSION 17: Go on to Champion and destroy the Galspan ships there. You'll
again be attacked, just keep on killing the units as they come.
Return to the base when it's over.


MISSION 18: Take the EW with you (essential for this mission). When you see
the drones, fly between them towards the door. Take the item on
the way. Go through the door when it opens ane return to the
base.


MISSION 19: Go towards Ripping and you'll be attacked there. Destroy all of
them and you'll meet Susan Bradley. When she shows up, stay close
to the ship and continue shooting at the enemies to complete the
mission.


MISSION 20: The final mission. Protect the Delivrance here. Don't worry, the
other Bora ships will help you. When you can attack the Hephaetus,
do so. Keep attacking it until it loses its shield. Once you've
achieved this, keep shooting at it while avoiding the turret's
attacks. You'll eventually defeat it and complete the mission.

| GALSPAN MISSIONS |
|________________________|


MISSION 1: Go to the Independence zone until you see 3 ships. Destroy them.
Another ship will then appear and you'll need to destroy that one
too. When it's over, return to the base.


MISSION 2: Destroy the Cutlass, there is a couple of them. Then go towards
Farsight. When you see Burrow, shoot at it quickly and fly near
it for the scanner. Next, destroy the plant until Valor Wing
shows up. You now need to fight Valor Wing (be careful of your
shiled). Go back to the base when it's over.


MISSION 3: Go towards Neureus. You'll be attacked there. Destroy the
Battleaxes as quickly as possible. And return to the base. You
don't need to fight the Cutlass except for the money.


MISSION 4: Make sure you have EMP missiles and lasers first. Go to where
you'll see the drones but don't shoot at them yet! Instead, go
near Lakita and use your EMP on her. When you've done this, you
can now destroy all the drones and return to the base.


MISSION 5: Go to Malkar's Barony. You'll see a vessel here. You can chase it
and attack it if you want but it's not necessary. Return to the
base once you've done.


MISSION 6: There's a neat trick to complete this mission quickly. Just remain
near the Cephius all the time as it destroys your enemies' shields
and makes things more easier for you. In the first sector, shoot
at those which come towards you. You don't have to bother about
the others, they'll destroy each other. Be quick in destroying
the Warhammers if you don't wanna die. The mission is complete
once the Cephius has taken all the Ripstars. You can now return
to the base.


MISSION 7: Wait for the orders to go in the zone with the satellites. Destroy
these and go forward where there'll be a bunch of Warhammers.
Fight them and the mission's over.


MISSION 8: When you reach Aquila, destroy the escort and go onto it. You'll
then receive orders to desactivate Demeter. From here, go to the
next zone and attack the powerplant. You'll now need to stop
Demeter who's trying to get away. You don't need to catch it
but I think you get more money if you do so. Return to the base
for your money in either case.


MISSION 9: First of all, beware of the Bora vessels there. I nearly died
when they suddenly decided to attack me. You'll see a fight
going on, join them but be careful on the way! At one point,
a couple of Warhammers will show up (don't worry, you'll hear
them first). When you go towards them, they will try to get
away. You need to be very quick or you won't catch up with
them. Then, you can help the others destroy the bandits although I
don't see the point in doing this. Either way, return to the
base.


MISSION 10: Go forward until you come across the buoys and the asteroids.
Here, you'll obtain the KC2 crystal which is one of your mission
objectives. Be careful of the Ripstar though while you are
inspecting it, use the post-combustion to avoid its attraction.
When you're done, return to Canopus and destroy all the Daggers.
Release the crystal when they've all been destroyed and return
the base.


MISSION 11: Take a lot of EMP missiles first if you want to succeed. Now, go
to Onrald's Barony. You will see the Alexander vessel. Destroy
its shields and desactive it with an EMP missile before moving
on. You'll see the Manacle which is being attacked, protect it
and destroy the other ships. You can then retunr to the base.


MISSION 12: This one is the easiest of the lot. You main objective is to
escort Aquarius. Just stick to it and destroy the enemies along
the way. Don't ever leave it alone and you should make it through
without much difficulty.


MISSION 13: Pretty much like Mission 12 except that you msut escort 6 pirates
this time. However, they'll attack you when you're out of the
sector; destroy them and return to the base.


MISSION 14: Go through Swarm until you reach Silicon. Locate the radars and
destroy them until you get a message stating you've destroyed the
one which controlled the drones. Take a drone quicky and get out
of the zone. If you stay in the region too much, the drones will
explode. Return to the base.


MISSION 15: There are 3 ships and you need to know which one is the spy first.
Well, the one you should aim for is the Quasar. There is a Cargo
near it; take it quickly and get out of here. Everyone will shoot
at you and you're no match for them (do I really have to tell you
this!!?). Then, return to the base.


MISSION 16: Locate Fortitude. Your objective is to destroy it. To do this,
first destroy the generator beneath it and your task will be
much simpler. Then, simply unload all your ammo on it to destroy
it and the mission will be over.


MISSION 17: Stay near the 3 buoys until other ships arrive. Among them is the
Cerberus which you need to protect. Once it's over and Cerberus
goes on, return to the base.


MISSION 18: The final mission and a very tough one indeed!! Take a lot of
missiles with you, you won't go far without them...When the
Hephaestus is attacked, protect it. Stay near it for good results.
When the Bora ships back off, go to the next zone to Liberty.
Take Bradley with you and get off quickly or you'll explode with
everything else. Return to Draconis Ripstar and avoid the enemies.
You can fight them if you want but it's only a waste of time and
you run the risk of being shot down if you do so. Go onto Zeus
and the mission will be complete. You've just beaten the whole
game!!

HINTS AND TIPS
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------


Below are certain tips which should help you throughout the game:

- Try to master all the weapons, Each one is useful in its own way and you'll
need all of them throughout the missions.

- In the missions where neutral vessels become your enemies afterwards, you
can do the following to avoid fighting them. Just put mines on them while
they are still neutral. This way, you just have to trigger the mines when
they start attacking you.

- The fights in the Arena enable you to earn a lot of money. Don't forget
about these if you want better weapons and ships.

- Don't waste your ammunition. Certain ships can be easily destroyed using
your lasers, use those instead.

- The destroyers are very strong. Avoid them at all costs and don't ever
think of fighting against them, you don't stand a chance.

- Try and take part in the special battles, you'll earn a lot of money which
will enable you to acquire more weapons and vessels.

- When fighting against a large group of enemies and your shield turns low,
try to hide or run away until it charges up again. Engaging such a battle
with little or no shield is pointless!

- Do not waste your missiles on lone enemies, you will desperately need
them if a group of enemies show up.
