Mike Morasky
Mike Morasky is an American composer, best known in the video game industry for his work with Valve.
Career
Morasky’ s musical career does not revolve around the video game industry. Since 1988 he has been releasing music with various bands with probably the most notable of them being noise rock outfit Steel Pole Bath Tub. The first video game he has written the score for was 2007 online shooter Team Fortress. In this game, he mixed various genres from jazz and folk to waltz and world. Since then he contributed to the majority of Valve’s titles, including both Portal games, the Left 4 Dead dilogy, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. For his soundtrack for Portal 2, Mike won several awards from various game magazines and organizations such as Kotaku, Game Developers Choice Award, X-Play and Game Audio Network Guild. Aside from his composer career, he is also known for working on visual effect for The Lord of the Rings trilogy and two sequels for 1999 hit Matrix.
